Denver D holds. Raiders only get three. That was a huge, huge stop. Trevor Pryce with a big sack to halt the drive.

Cmon offense. Lets keep the ball for about five minutes and get three points here. That'll just about end this thing.

Rule change I would like to see: Incomplete forward passes are live balls if they do not cross the line of scrimmage.

Exclusivity of some sort I'd imagine, who ever has the two gets exclusive broadcasting coverage for that second slot. Same thing for the Super Bowl. Couldn't get into specifics of it or what negotiations brought that out though. Probably just some compromise to keep two networks happy. Maybe exclusivity every other week brings in more advertising revenue than competing with another station every week.

FOX and CBS benefit. It means that for the normal household, there will only be on game on at a time instead of two, so they can probably charge just a little more for ads. If not charge more then I would think it helps them in that way somehow.

Stupid turnovers from Denver, really stupid turnovers. Raiders back in the game, then Kerry decides to be Kerry.

Darrent Williams pics off a pass and runs it back for a TD.

Game, set, match.

Good news for Oakland though ... they face Miami on the 27th.

Collins must be channeling Favre. Seems like everytime I catches glimpses of the game, he is overthrowing receivers by 5-7 yards.

Yeah, Favre and Collins are equals. Favre has the second most passing yards in history because he always overthrows guys.

I understand to a point what you mean, but Favre does not do it as much as that comment makes it sound.

Sheesh. If you'd told me Vick would put up these numbers...

Passing CP-AT YDS TD INT RTG
Michael Vick 20-30 209 2 0 108.9

...and we'd lose to Green Bay, I'd have wanted to have you drug-tested.

When the defense can't stop some scrub running back from scoring three touchdowns, something is seriously wrong. Jeez...if it's not one thing, it's another for this team.

They drill a guy three or four times and he gets happy feet and starts to just "miss" throws. Look at their last four games:

Brady: 24-46 - 299
E. Manning: 23-42 - 214
McNabb: 12-34 - 283
Collins - 26-50 - 310

Some pretty good QB's in that list and every single one of them had the same type of game. Struggle early. Miss throws you normaly make. Get it figured out, but even after that has happened, make a big mistake or two. Denver holds on to win.

Only exception to that was Eli, who stayed patient and picked the D apart. He's also the only QB who had a coach who stuck with the running game late. All of the others gave up on it by middle of the third quarter. The Giants were the only team to stay with the run even with the score looking ugly.

Still far short of all of those number of wins where Vick sucked but the RB and/or defense made up for it.

here we go again...

That was a gutsy move and I would have cursed Gruden if they failed the conversion. On the other hand, the Buccaneers couldn't stop the Redskins offense to save their life.

It probably was not a smart logical decision, but it was the wise choice based on the situation.

And Chris Simms....get the hell out of here, that kid can play some ball. He really made some great decisions against a tough, hard-hitting Redskins D.

He was trying to throw short passes underneath and when he saw the blitz he just threw a perfect strike under pressure to Sheppard for the TD.

It's times like this that make it great to have stayed loyal to one team throughout the years.

True, but he's no QB of the future. He's also streaky as heck. You even saw that during the game, right?

On a side note, it was a relief to hear Rich Gannon call the color. I grow weary of listening to Randy Cross not knowing who the players are.

Nice decisive win for Denver. I was hoping for a 4th quarter collapse as usual, but not today. The defense really stepped up.

Believe me, I'm not fan of Collins. I'm just pointing out that there are even better QB's who have similar days against this defense.

The collapse thing is interesting. It's kind of strange really. They've had "collapses" all year. But yet they've only lost one of those games. (the Miami game wasn't a blown lead, that was a throttling)

The Skins, Pats, Eagles, Giants, and Raiders have all made runs on Denver in the late third/early fourth. Yet they only blew the Giant game and that was helped by a missed field goal.

What seems to happen is teams are confused as hell early, figure out both the O and D late in the third, then make the run. yet most of the time we find a way to hang on. Either way, I don't want anymore excuses from Denver this year. Their second half collapses are becoming legendary. Well, now they are 7-2 with a home game against the Jets next week. That should be 8-2. Win 3 of the last 6 and they win this division. Win 4 of the 6 and they'll get a bye.

It's all on them now.

You know, I'm tired of Mora and Vick getting tired of all the criticism about Vick's passing and thus doing more drop back stuff. Ok, we get Vick can be accurate (66% today), but I'd rather see the under 50% completion Vick who runs around and makes plays with his legs!

I mean there were bootlegs were the running lane was there and Vick would hold onto the ball looking for a reciever and getting KILLED a few times doing so. The offense didn't have the running game working because Vick wasn't running as he usually does. That opens up the inside game, but they wanted to prove a point. BAH!

****ing idiot coaching...

Jesus (on the Sunday Night Game). To echo Theismann... "that didn't just happen, did it"? For those not watching, the Steelers went for it on 4th and Goal from the 10, while up by 13 and 2:00 left, basically (I'd imagine) to keep running the clock and give Cleveland the ball back deep... they run a sweep with Haynes, who should have been stopped in the backfield, but turns the corner and runs the 10 yards for a TD... unbelievable.

Since I haven't seen it mentioned here yet, props to the Panther defense today. The Jets are bad, but Delhomme made a couple of terrible decisions like he did in the early losses to the Saints and Dolphins, but the defense held the Jets to 3 in the first half and forced a ton(5 total?) of turnovers to spark the blowout in the 4th quarter. Next week at Chicago is big.

I'm sure Vick will find himself back to normal next week if the Bucs don't wake the hell up on defense. They couldn't stop the run or the pass all game.

The Bucs aren't going to have the luxury of scoring 36 points in Atlanta, they will need to play defense if they want to win on the road.

I got to see dramatic finishes from Miami, New York, Tampa, and even some interesting things at the end in Pittsburgh. My favorite team, the Broncos, beat one of their rivals again. I saw a lot of interesting football yesterday, and I don't even have NFL Sunday Ticket.

Still, the absolute best thing to happen was Robbie Gould's field goal attempt taking an almost 90-degree turn. I just wish that I could have seen that live and heard the commentary during it. The (AP?) recap of the game mentions the kick going "almost comically 20 yards wide right." I've never seen a better use of the word "comically" in my life. Over 18 hours later, I'm still here giggling my ass off at the sight of that kick. I am going to record it on my DVR off NFL Network On Demand and watch it again and again. That was the greatest kick I have ever seen. If that is the only football play I am allowed to watch for the rest of my life, I will not complain.

Robbie Gould. My hero.

Yeah, thank God for Williams. Almost turned that game into yet ANOTHER "domination for 2-3 quarters then let you back in the game" performance. I'll take 7-2, but they are worrying me. No killer instinct.

It looked like one, didn't it? It was like a special effect that they added in postproduction. I mean, seriously, that was some Matrix stuff right there. I want to have Robbie Gould's puppies.

My first thought was that it was actually blocked ... then I had to see the replay about 4 times before my brain could comprehend what had happened. I've never seen anything like it.
