I don't think you're a bad guy or anything at all but if your attitude in the NFL threads during the season carries over into real life i'm honestly surprised you haven't been beaten to death by a Vikings fan yet. I always start out the NFL season reading everything but most likely by Week 3 you'll be on ignore again. We can chat again in February though! MBBF is the only top 5'er I have on ignore. I do read most of his posts on most days, but I need a buffer first to prepare so I don't just quick reply with a string of f-bombs when I run across whatever he's saying to try to put down the entire community at the time. |

I don't know who mrskippy, mrbutterworthjr, or MrBigglesworth are. I'm guessing they don't come by too often these days. Are their places in the top five deserved?
edit: I couldn't even find two of them in the members list. Alt-accounts? Last edited by Big Fo : 08-28-2009 at 10:44 PM. |

You were on mine during part of the NFL season a couple of years ago. It made the game day threads bearable. Now that I work most Sundays I really don't have an issue with you anymore... So why are mrskippy and MrBigglesworth hated by everyone here? Does anyone have a thread or can give a quick list of reasons?

MrBigglesworth got under people's skin because he was a strong liberal voice in political threads, and it seemed that he posted almost exclusively in political threads. Imagine if Dutch only ever posted in political threads, and you'd have a conservative version of MrBigglesworth. |

There was a time here when political threads were considered side conversations, or even further OT than the rest of the stuff here, and anyone who only posted to stir up shit politically would not last long at all. I do see that 5 of our 120 posts are in non-political threads.... but yeah, I think you are lucky to have un-lurked when you did and not a couple years ago |

Mrs kippy was at his best (read: most asshat-ish) in threads about religion. His most annoying trait was his inevitable attempt to change the point when someone would call him on something. Abortion and the pledge of allegiance also were subjects of threads he befouled. |

skippy was also a notorious Bay area homer, particularly the A's, and he and I butted heads (A's-Angels) all the time.

I'm actually quite stunned that franklinnoble and his wife aren't on the list. Maybe it's because capsicum was a shooting star that flamed out so quickly and franklin has been gone so long. Just curious, are kippy, franklin and capsicum all banned? I don't see them in the members list. Last edited by kcchief19 : 08-29-2009 at 03:58 PM. |

Dola, the greatest thing about franklin was his posts before his wife found the forum, then his posts after. The contrast was fantastic. I believe he actually went through and deleted his old posts if I remember correctly.

Ive never used the ignore on any forum I have been a part of. It would make things less interesting as the people that bother me the most are usually right in some aspect. As far as the list goes Anthony is the only one that has really bothered me at some point and I believe it was because of the Lebron James thread. I think JonInMiddleGA has called me an idiot before but Im sure I had it coming

I have no idea who you are, but it wouldn't surprise me if a few other people around here had Loren on ignore just because of her red text. There was a lot of complaining about that when she was posting here semi-regular. On another note, I wish we could do the opposite of blocking. I want to have certain people's posts highlighted for me. Like some kind of setting that lets me know every time Subby is saying something about Lathum. Maybe when RendeR posts something that pisses people off I get alerted. Stuff like that always makes for good reading.

Well, this board is like a long, drawn out reality tv show. It's really good for drama (made out of very little sometimes) and some people get voted off once in a while, but when all is said and done it is the stronger personalities that keep it interesting and make me want to come back because otherwise a lot of it is the same conversations over and over.
Although I don't really need you telling me about your erection RendeR.

Actually that would make an interesting debate. Not RendeR's erection, but who the stronger/est personalities on FOFC are.

I have never added anybody to my ignore list at any forum, my eyes are selective enough to skip a post if i feel i should, that is not often, as i think that every person, no matter how idiot they are, can teach you something one day.
Also i don't usually get into arguing or flame wars in message boards, there is nothing more useless than that unless you are really bored. Also probably most of the hottest discussions that lead to putting people on ignore lists are politics related, and as i have no knowledge/interest on USA politics, i always skip those threads. I can remember two discussions here in all the years i have been in, one was about hunting, with somebody i can't remember right now, and i must admit that my post was too extreme and i deserved the calling out. The other was with HA/Anthony when i was still too sensitive about my lost baby and he posted something about wanting to f*** a pregnant B.Spears on a painful way or something like that, typical joke by him but that caught me in bad times and i pulled the trigger. Usually i would have just ignored those comments without answering.

Having been married twice, I have become really good at ignoring people while not appearing to ignore them. I have carried that technique over to message boards where I have no need for an ignore list. I just choose not to read certain thread topics of a various nature, and generally skip through posts from a few members.

Nah, BW would just make stuff up (again, in political threads) while MrB would link to other websites to support his arguments (something not a lot of people do, to be honest). I think MrB's ban was a lot like Jesse Ewiak's, for a level of persistence towards defending their viewpoints that just pissed a lot of people off. IIRC, one day BW just stopped posting in political threads. It was pretty impressive. He also may have gotten boxed once or twice. I haven't seen him post elsewhere, but maybe he does. |

You're wrong, imo. Both of them would purposely pick fights and persistently antangonize those that did not follow their extreme viewpoints - as in that would be their primary reason for being here. No one had done that like them, nor do any of you do that now, at least not named MBBF. But it certainly doesn't matter anymore. The werewolves have won. |
