They would've called that in the pros, I think, going for his legs.

Cincinnati should have a right to play for the title.

Some reporter better ask about play action in that situation. It's criminally insane.

If you have the big ten network, PUT IT ON

Fresno State just scored with :02 to play, trails 52-51 with the conversion to come at Illinois

That just made my day...now instead of going to a BCS Bowl game, Pitt will now go to Charlotte or Toronto.

What round is Gilyard projected to go in? He has a feel for the game and wouldnt be surprised to see him outperform his draft position.

I expect people will see the final play of the Illinois-Fresno State game even though it is essentially a meaningless game.

Pretty par for the course for this year. Sigh.

QB nearly in the grasp, throws it up.. tipped by the defense, and the OFFENSIVE LINEMAN CATCHES IT and goes in!

1st. Kiper has him as the top senior receiver coming out this year. I believe Dez Bryant is the only receiver rated ahead of him.

Thanks! I wasnt sure with his size they would have him that high. Reminds me of Marvin Harrison for some reason.

So after declaring Hawaii's season all but over a month ago, they have somehow rattled off 4 wins in a row after losing 6 straight. they are now they are 6-6, and if they can somehow upset Wisconsin tonite, they are going to a bowl game. this makes me happy. At least it wasn't a complete disaster season, which usually happens when you are starting your 3rd string QB.

+1. My father-in-law is a huge Bama fan and I don't like Florida. Between those two factors, I'm rooting for them for the 1st time this year.

I've heard that Vern Lundquist has been insufferable to listen to watching games. I guess I never paid that much attention before, but he is awful so far. 1st Alabama throw is for about 12 yards, and he's like "HOW DO YOU....do." It's a 12 yard gain, take your meds, old man. And he's been totally confused on like 3 plays already.

As a WVU fan, I love having Wanny as the Pitt coach.

He is good enough to keep them semi-respectable, but not good enough to get them over the hump. We need Syracuse to hire Marty Schottenheimer so that they can get to that same level.

Just a little joking around earlier. I actually did shed some tears on Pitt's behalf after that heartbreaking loss today. I was laughing that hard.

If only we got to play on the 28th...the 26th will end up sucking. I actually hope Rutgers gets the Meineke and we end up in Birmingham instead. Jan 2 vs an SEC team would be better than Dec 26 vs an ACC team.

Yacovfb you might be a nice guy and a classy fan but there's no team or school I dislike more than Pitt. I was in Oakland last year when PSU lost to Iowa and they were more happy that PSU lost than their own team won. So excuse me if I laugh and take joy in them losing a heartbreaker.

Damn... didn't realize the workload that Dion Lewis had for Pitt today: 47 carries for 194 and 3 TDs + 5 catches for 34 yards. 52 touches!

It will be interesting to see who wins BE POY between Lewis and Mardy Gilyard. I'd lean towards Lewis, but Gilyard had 1200+ yards receiving and in KO returns.

You guys should take it easy on the Pitt fan. You don't want to scare him away -- a lot of people can go their entire lifetime without ever seeing a real, live Pitt fan.

I can see this - it's a shame that both sides act this way when we don't even play one another. I personally have no hatred toward PSU as my uncle went there and it was my #2 school behind Pitt. Would be nice to start playing again so there can actually be a point to the rivalry.

Edit: Now to try to forget this loss, I'm off to (you'll love this) see the Pens.

Including the bowl Lewis is going to end up with around 330 carries as a true freshman. He's a beast, but he's going to have a ton of mileage on him before he even gets draft eligible.

Have fun should be a good game with the Blackhawks in town.

I grew up in a Penn State household with both parents going to school there. Plus I just add to the fuel is when I talk to a Pitt fan about Penn State they just keep saying 12-0. Yes Pitt won the last one (forgetting that they lost the previous 8 I believe) against arguably the worst Penn State team in all of Paterno's coaching years. If I bring up that Paterno has won 23 of 31 (with of those being a tie), they don't want to hear it. And they seem to have a selective memory when I bring up the 48-14 drubbing that knocked them out of the National Title in the early 80s.

But the irony in it all...I have my Master's degree from Pitt.

USC is down 21-17 and Arizona can almost run out the clock. I'm very disappointed with this season, but hopefully the team will be back to form next year and 8-4 isn't horrible in a rebuilding year.
