Jerome Simpson sentenced to 15 days in the pokey for 2 lbs of pot on a felony drug charge. Fucking ridiculous. I do that and its pretty much at least 10 years.

I'm surprised the, "kill the head and the body will die" line is being reported, it seems rather innocent on it's own. I could see a defensive coordinator saying something like that for a message along the lines of, "stop what they do best and they won't be able to move the ball on us!"

The lines about Gore and Crabtree are just fucking awful though.

Maybe it was really crappy pot and they figured there was no way he was trying to distribute?

I'm amazed at the comments I've heard and read of people who defend Williams on the basis that they think comments like, "Go out there and hit the so hard they feel it in the morning," are along the same lines as, "Take out his right knee on the inside when he plants, that's his weak ACL," and, "He has a history of concussions, you know what to do."

I've known plenty of people get caught with more pot and not even sit in jail at all besides the initial arrest.

Two stories from Pittsburgh

Steelers WR Cotchery accepts terms of two-year deal - Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

Quote:
The Steelers strengthened their somewhat thin corps of wide receivers Wednesday when they came to a two-year, $3 million contract agreement with Jerricho Cotchery.

Quote:
ESPN reported that if that deadline passes, Wallace will not sign the one-year, $2,742,000 contract tender the Steelers presented him under RFA rules. The network reported that Wallace will not participate in any spring workouts unless he and the team come to terms on a multiple-year contract.
Once that April 20 deadline passes, however, Wallace can sign with no other team but the Steelers, whether it's the one-year tender or a longer-term deal.

I'm stoked Steve Smith signed a 3 year extension with Carolina.

I was heart broken when Buehrle left the ChiSox, so I'm glad my 2nd favorite player in sports is sticking with his team.

Bengals send Keith Rivers to the Giants for a 5th.

A shame Rivers hasn't been able to live up to his potential because of injuries.

Although his recent twitter argument with Joe Reedy was quite humorous.

Good move by the Giants. They don't have many linebackers and even if he hasn't lived up to expectations, I imagine he's better than any LB the G-Men were going to find in the 5ht round of the draft.

I don't see what McShay sees in him. He even admits Tannehill doesn't have the needed ability to make the reads and it's why he needs to develop over time. It's like he's simply buying into the physical attributes of Tannehill and assuming the mental aspect of it will come.

I don't get it either, but hopefully someone wants to trade up to three to get him. And if it's for future picks I can even dream that Spielman won't be the one making the selections.

However as long as the Vikings have Christian Ponder I can't feel bad for fans of any team that moves up to take Tannehill.

It's not just McShay, though. It's nearly every draft pundit out there.

Granted, I don't understand it either.

Kiper seems to be sensible about it pointing out the Texas game where he threw for around 40% passing completion. His TD/INT ratio against ranked teams was 16-13. Note, he went tossed six TDs and one INT against Baylor(113th def) and three TDs and one INT against Northwestern(66th def). Against the rest of those ranked teams he was 7-11 and he's worth a 4th or 8th overall pick?

Kiper still has him going to the Dolphins at 8. So does Walter Football and just about everyone else.

I really don't understand it, I don't think he's that good, granted I saw maybe 3 Texas A&M games this year.

Being a Dolphins fan I'd rather them take a flier on Weeden in the 2nd round than spending a one on Tannehill.
