Awesome news DT! I am excited for you!
Well, my online dating is going ok...just a lot of flirting...but there has been a new wrinkle so to speak. When I was out in Utah for my Moms wake and my grandmas funeral back in Feb, I was introduced (Here goes the need for a Flere-Diagram) to my best friends sister in law. She is single, has kids, retired Army and basically a clone of my likes / dislikes and such. We have been communicating via Skype, FB, Phone and text and just kind of growing that way. She is coming out to Buffalo around May 9th, the weekend before I go back on the road. Nervous to have her come out, but excited to see if everything that we have been talking about is true on her end or if she is just saying what I want to here.

Well - date #3...we spent...5 hours at the science museum. Didn't get to see the IMAX movie that I wanted to see due to showtimes, but basically just looked at a bunch of stuff, goofed around, flirted, and told stories and all.
GIven that it was 8 by the time we got back here (still like a half hour drive for her home) I offered dinner, but it wasn't like a declaration but more of a "hey do you want to grab dinner" type of thing, which she predictably declined, which is fine - I expected it to be declined but figured I should offer. Don't think I could have imagined having that much fun at a science museum to be honest. |

So I met a woman from the internet.
She actually pointed to my belly and said "You are much bigger than I thought." Needless to say the afternoon ended with a handshake. |

Belly can't be THAT big - if it was I'd expect the afternoon to end with a milkshake.

The thing I am most disappointed about? The fact that I stuck with it. Because she was wearing a skirt that I could just slightly see through. And her legs & ass were nice.
I should have said "Men have feelings too, you know!" and just walked away. Fuck her and all like her. It would have got me exactly where I am now, but instead of just not giving a shit I would be laughing non-stop. Last edited by M GO BLUE!!! : 05-13-2014 at 11:15 PM. |

The correct answer was to point at her chest and say much smaller than I thought...lets just cut it off here.

Personally after a remark like that, I'd have stuck around for the date, enjoying myself in various little ways - then given her a debriefing at the end of the things she did wrong, starting with that remark, and giving suggestions for improvements on future dates.
Nor would I give a damn how much of an ass that'd make me look.

Must be that time of year for FOFC. Just secured my first date from OKC. She's not my usual type in some respects, but we've had stellar conversational flow, so I figure why not?

Update on my end....
We clicked and clicked well... We have so much in common it's scary. We watched the draft together...the only "issue" is she is die hard Seahawks fan, grew up in Washington and has been a fan for them through thick and thin...so I can't call her a bandwagon jumper.

Didn't move...she is back in Utah..but she has done the... Seattle / GA / TX / WA / Iraq / TX / WA / ID / UT (Her family moved to UT and she wanted to be closer) So the big thing here is to get me to move back to UT...away from Buffalo...

Yeah it is for now. She is retired Army, going back to school to get her degree. So she is enrolled full time right now. She has kids from a prior marriage that are with their father due to her being deployed and now she is no longer and she is in the process of getting full custody of them. We will see how things pan out with my new job, but chances are I will be splitting a lot of time between Utah and Buffalo.

So, date went exactly as I predicted it would.
Very easy to talk to/good conversation, but zero physical attraction. And I mean zero. I suddenly felt enlightened as I realized what it was to friends zone someone, and I totally get it now.

Disabled my OKC account a few days ago. It just wasn't worth the hassle anymore. Lot of the same exact people on there for weeks on end (and with good reason, I might add), and of course, anybody even remotely appealing on an aesthetic level never answered.
So I'm pretty much done with online dating for now. Not that real life will be much (if at all) better, but that's probably the best angle going forward.

Oh for god's sake.
So I've been keeping Galaxy updated as things have progressed with this girl. I (obviously) don't open up easily, and I've been kinda on the verge of calling things off because I don't really find myself having strong emotions for this girl/wanting to see her more than once a week (she lives half an hour away, so that factors into that scarcity). But still, after a couple months you'd think I'd want to be seeing her more often. So I get myself in the mindset to call things off this last weekend. She comes over and we're hanging out a bit before dinner (which I figured would be an issue but the timing just didn't work to go straight to dinner). Lo and behold, she climbs onto my lap. I had to like....awkwardly be like "let's wait till after dinner." Which definitely made things awkward and tipped her off, so much so that once we sat down for dinner she confronted me and was like "what's up?" Like literally before we had ordered our appetizers. I was kinda planning on waiting until the food got there to do the breaking-up part so that the whole meal wasn't awkward, so I wimped out (my mistake, should have taken the opening - it was there on a silver platter). Rest of the night was standard. Cut to last night - we're talking on the phone, catching each other up on the day. Wrap up the call with a mutual "okay, well maybe we'll talk later, if not certainly tomorrow. Night!" No joke, 30 seconds after I hang up I get a text from her: "Just say it!" Yeahhhhhhh...not happening. |
