Odd

So there's only 3 of us at my company.

Coworker sent an email at like 9:15 this morning and then got up before it even flashed across my screen and was like on the verge of tears and was like "Hey...I need to go home."

Email was basically like "personal stuff going on. Need a day or two...sorry."

Didn't want to pry, but now I'm curious. He's seemed off for a little while - my partner said he saw him sitting in his car on the phone talking all animated the other day, but all I can imagine it being is either marriage stuff or parents health stuff. He's got 2 little kids but I imagine there's nothing seriously wrong with them.

I have like 8 chickens I bought in March. Thus far it only looks like 3 of them have become steady egg layers. With winter coming, the other 5 are starting to look pretty juicy right now.

I got a letter in the mail today offering me a free cremation. It sounds too good to be true so I'm afraid of getting burned.

Yeah, I would be skeptical, does it at least come with a free trial or money back guarantee if you're not totally satisfied?

You mean they've been above 50 degrees this whole time? I'm afraid you are going to have to throw them out. Better safe than sorry.

Just had one of those "geez, I'm an idiot" moments.

Lately I've been buying coconut water from Costco. They come 12 to a case in 12 ounce TetraPak containers. I'm almost done with my third case of them.

When I first started drinking them, I noticed that they didn't come with a straw or anything to punch through the foil covering the drinking spot, like what a Capri Sun would use. So I've been poking through the foil with a knife/pen/key to get to the juice inside.

I just now realized that the foil tab can be pulled off. D'oh.

Here's a pic of what I'm talking about. Different brand, same container.

I think I drive through a squirrelacaust yesterday. I noticed that I had passed a lot dead squirrels in the road on one street. Once I started counting, I counted 11 dead ones. One also ran in front of my car that I narrowly dodged.

Losing a lot of weight is awesome. Shopping for new clothes after having lost a lot of weight is awesome.

Paying for all those new clothes is not awesome.

Grubhub is a scam. Ordered last night, never received the food and they don't want to refund my money. Chargeback time, but that's absurd.

So I was watching "The Tudors" yesterday and I didn't see Pumpy.

In fact I didn't see anyone who remotely LOOKED like Pumpy.

It rained hard on Wednesday, which left us pretty lousy with spiders in the kitchen. Fast forward to just now when I spent a good two minutes trying to work up the courage to kill a peanut butter cup wrapper with a phone book.

I've made the drive from Paris to Milan before. It was a little over 500 miles. Too bad they still don't have the Italian high speed rail lines linked up to neighboring countries.

6 hours isn't that bad though. I would have expected it to be more.

Was planning on going over for a game later this year - got to thinking I really should make more of a vacation out of it - this way I can do that and then also do Paris on the same trip.

Grrrrr

So I reached out to local restaurant chain on facebook and was like "why do you not have bacon on your menu anymore?" because I used to go in after the gym on Saturday and get a BLT-wrap as a snack.

Said restaurant PR person got back to me and was like "blah blah blah...bacon doesn't sell at lunch. we still have it at breakfast. Drop us an email and we'll give you a gift certificate for the next time you come in."

No...sorry. If you don't have my BLT-wrap then you have nothing that I want as an after-workout snack so I have no occasion to come in. Thanks for playing though bye!

Seems to me they should make bacon for lunch, just less, especially if there is a regular customer who wants it.

Seems nonsensical to me that they wouldn't sell any bacon at lunch. I guess maybe because none of their menu-items include it right now that it's not popular enough with the "make your own wrap" customers (who are probably a minority).

Weird. And annoying.

Unfortunately 1x a week probably doesn't qualify me as a regular.

Oh well. I can go to Chipotle and get two little soft tacos or something.

After losing to them in the past two years, my son's elementary basketball team finally beat their arch rivals in a wild 31-30 game. It's the last game these kids will play against the team since they' ll all be in the middle school next year. Their coach (me) is now hoarse. Had kids on the verge of tears from being so happy/excited.
