We have 11 people left. Two presumably can do double work today. Chief and tyke aren't available for action. So that's 11 units. The train needs to have 6 units since we would strongly prefer not to fail that to advance our quest. Thus:
Unerect Head to Charleston Saldana and font, please also head to Charleston. Everyone else erect the sentry tower. |

Let's see. I make the vote that brings Autumn into a tie which eventually gets him lynched. And oh by the way - he's a Cultist. First one we've bagged. And I am the one under suspicion? In fact enough that you've completely eliminated a Doctor from today's action. OK Sheriff... Good job? |

Honestly, we're not in that bad of shape HP wise, and we've still got 2 docs for today.
I was actually somewhat hoping you'd of wound up being a C&O lackey, with some weird goal of getting tie votes. That didn't fly, but I still don't like intentional votes to tie, especially if you were under a (apparently mistaken) assumption that would off 2 people instead of 1. |

I wouldn't worry about it Coffee, unless you think everyone is going to show up. Chances are we won't have the numbers to finish it.

If we're gonna blow it or come close, I'd rather we have overwhelming support on the travel quest anyway. Having to repeat quests is bad.

Unless someone else joins, Coffee's action would only stop JAG from sabotaging, which is unlikely. Saldana or I could still sabotage the mission.

Okay, it has been a busy couple days at work, so I haven't been able to check in much. In fact, I haven't even read day or night results yet, so if I am dead, I'll find out shortly.
I did see that some were wondering (hoping?) that I am the reporter. Unfortunately, I am not. Sorry, folks.

Today you manage to send some people to the main city of Charleston to investigate the local headquarters of the company.
Not expecting you, you easily slip into their building and begin to search, but it seems that many essential documents have been recently removed. The Assessor's office of West Virginia is missing documents on the land owned in the state and their HQ is missing documents on many things in Thurmond. You are almost about to give up when you push aside a statue and uncover a safe. It has a complex local that you cannot even begin to pick. One of you distracts the guards long enough for two to carry it out, place it on a nearby cart and wheel it away. You slip it onto the train and take it out at Thurmond nad reveal it to everyone. Success. You have found a chest End of Day Nine Quest Action

If Someone has a Set of Lockpicks, all they have to do is PM me that they want to use them here, and the chest will be automatically opened and no future quest will be necessary to do so. Just let me know via PM

So here is the list of players who were on the Day 4 task that failed. We had 11 units for a 10 unit task so we had at least two units faked. We can be pretty sure Autumn was one of them (unless he got converted later), which means there is still at least one cultist in this list. Narrowing this down: CF / Britrock / boo are dead and were villagers. JAG - scanned good by saldana. CW - scanned good by fontisian, to be bad on Day 4, font also had to be converted. That leaves only saldana, fontisian, and Simbo as potential cultists who faked their action. Of those three, in my opinion the cultist is Simbo. I don't have much to support that other than gut feeling about his play compared with that of fontisian and saldana along with his vote on me yesterday (assuming somewhere Autumn left a hint about his being a cultist or some possibility of cultists potentially learning each other's identities with their night actions). But I feel strongly enough about it to vote him. Vote Simbo |

Thinking out loud if there would be any benefit to saldana fake-clearing JAG, vs fake-calling out JAG as a cultist.
I don't want to consider BOTH being cultists - while not impossible, that's too much of a stretch. No, I wouldn't risk a fake accusal. As far as we know, the cultists have as little clue to their actual numbers as we do. Sacrificing yourself like that probably isn't a good move. Leaving a fake/not-fake 'he's a good guy' move. Makes JAG look good and moves Jag's reasoning elsewhere, which, he's been one of the more vocal players. Advantage there, but...I think I'm getting too complex for my own good. |

So...to actually go coherent there. I do like JAG's reasoning, but I think for today, I'd feel better with removing Saldana from that list and paring it down to just Simbo and Font.

I don't understand your logic there. You're saying you don't think both saldana and I are cultists, which means for sure I am not (because otherwise you're assuming a villager sal would clear a cultist JAG) and Saldana either is or isn't. Why wouldn't that reasoning also apply to font? Both of them have (apparently in your case) cleared villagers which is either a good villager move or a devious cultist move, which is why I included them above with Simbo. I could see them as cultists clearing a villager to get some villager cred, especially if they knew they were going to get scrutiny today. That said, I'm pretty darn confident Simbo is a cultist moreso than the other two. |

Some lockpicks are sent out to assist with the chest and in a few moments you open it up.
what you uncover is...disturbing...........

Inside the safe are things which are....difficult....to explain.
Thew first hings that you find are some various papers, and you take them. Most of them are not worth your time. Next is a pouch with a lot of ancient and archaic coinage. You don;t recognize it, and it appears to be older than anything you have ever encountered before. The symbols on the coins are antipathetic. They repel whatever lingering aspect of a soul that you still have. You don't ever want to touch them. Finally you find the truly horrendous item in the safe. Here is a scroll of such age and yet it opens easily. The paper's similarity to human skin is a fact you note and set aside easily so that you will not freak out. The antiquarians, after some attempts to figure it out, recognize that it is a very distant and much earlier version of some ancient Polynesian language. After a half hour of work, you are able to decipher it.... And then you get chills. It describes a ceremony to summon an eldritch being named Yog-Sothoth. A powerful entity like it would crush the Earth in seconds if it wanted, and it requires more than mere bodies to draw it to a certain place. As a creature of the ethereal cosmos, it can only be called by the sacrifices of souls. Then when it arrives, it will take the summoners with it back to outlying areas such as Betelgeuse. Not any implement will allow a soul sacrifice. Only a Star Knife will do so, forged from a special meteorite rock. The sacrifice must be done on a certain slab of a different meteorite rock, made of elements unknown to Earth. You check the papers and find out that the C&O recently purchased a bit of land on the Typer Estate. You head out and within an hour you dig up a recently covered site. Within ten minutes you pull out the Star Knife and it shines with a huge orange metallic glint. It is a hexagonal crystalline structure that has been carved into a point with some sort of bronze structure added to the back. When stabbed into someone at the right place, it will drain their soul, and leave behind no blood or heart. Now you know everything that is happening. And you have the Knife and know the location of the sacrificial rock in the cave. The disturbing nature of these revelations forces everyone to lose one Sanity and Corruption point.

I like JAG's reasoning. Simbo is the only who doesn't have the backing of a Detective at some point. Keeping in mind, of course, that the Detectives doing the scans aren't cleared either, but it's more than what Simbo has, and someone sabotaged the quest that day.

i am gonna go in a different direction for a couple reasons...one, i dont like only having one guy up...always makes me think this is too easy...two, he is on the list of potentials but seems to leave himself out everytime he discusses the list, and three...throws my name out repeatedly vote fontisian |

But you're right about the bandwagon on Simbo, especially considering that he hasn't even got the chance to argue for himself yet. I think JAG's logic about saldana and myself is faulty. If you are a cultist and you find out that another player is not a cultist, why risk yourself by trying to get him lynched? Honestly, everyone's already dying off pretty quickly. Since I'm not about to vote for myself, vote saldana Though I might change it later. Where is your sense of whimsy? But yeah, let's avoid a tie this time. |

Well today had a good result. If it was down to either Tyke or myself using the lock picks it was tyke. I might as well say that I have a book were I can put five people's names and find out if they work for the railroad. I have not done so yet though.

I think I am going to vote for Sal. Even if Sal does not end up being the cultist it 100% clears Jag(well for the couple hours before the next day starts).
