Totti out, probably to avoid another yellow.

Good tactical move by the Italian coach. He can't take a risk of him getting a 2nd yellow, and going down by 2 men.

Why did Italy make that substitution? To keep him from getting another yellow and missing the Czech match?

EDIT: This thread moves too fast Answered already I guess

Smart move by the Italian Manager given Totti's temperment.

So much for that.

Italy switches to 6-2-1 now.

More importantly to make sure they aren't down 2 men against us. I think Italy would be fairly content to play for the tie now, and that won't happen down 2 men.

Maybe its just my tv, but our midfielders just look like little boys against the Italians. They just look more professional.

The need to get a defensive minded player back for the sent off De Rossi. And another yellow for Totti would put Italy down to 9 men.

Almost seems like we are content to go to the half tied at 1 at this rate.

Might be a smart move to do the same for Pope, he's already commited one foul since his yellow card. Sometimes referees like to level it up

I like to watch Gattuso play. He's like the Energizer bunny. He's always running at full speed all over the place.

I think Pirlo has to push forward and take on some of Totti's playmaking duties now and let Gattuso slide to Pirlo's spot...if you want to even try to do anything but draw.

(if you're Italy)

I haven't seen any Italian football this year, and I know Luca Toni scored 31 Serie A goals, but after a game and a half, other than one amazing shot against Ghana he looks a right donkey to me.

Ahh, that reminded me of the good old days when the Glasgow Rangers midfield had Reyna and Gattuso in it. How did we allow them to leave?
