Hmm... no commentary?
That was a pretty awesome episode. Almost the best I have seen since Season 1, I think, with the lone exception being the Battle of Blackwater Bay (2.9).

Yeah I really enjoyed it. Sunday nights are too loaded with GoT and Mad Men late for me to comment afterwards haha.

I liked it a lot as well. I'm starting to come to grips with the TV way of including characters when they become relevant to the plot. I think they've done a good job of illustrating what a character is like in a short period of time, especially here with the Blackfish, Edmure, and Ramsay.

The episode flew by. I wish they had more time. There are so many different storylines that they might only get one scene per episode.

Out of many awesome parts, I think my favorite moment was the way they chose to end it, and then they jumped right into the credits with that boisterous cover of Maiden Fair or whatever it was (was that Dropkick Murphys, BTW?). I mean, I knew what was about to happen to Jaime, of course, but the way they did it and jumped to those credits had me somewhere between disbelief and laughter.

That song choice was so weird it broke me out of that immediate final scene shock which I'm not sure was the intent of the creators.

I would think some kind of quality control is in place and someone watches the show start to finish a few times before it airs. I have to think just about anyone would have commented on that. So I think it was intentional.

Have we for sure seen a named character Ramsey, or have we only assumed who Ramsey is? Since we know how this ends up, short of a massive change from the book, is it possible we have made some assumptions, and in actuality, this character helping Theon is actually Ramsey himself, and he is just playing some sick game with Theon? I mean, this is one of the series most hated characters. Can you imagine what non-GOT readers will think if this is all a set up, and how much they will despise Ramsey?

Watched with my GF, I had read and she hadn't. She definitely got more enjoyment out of it, though I knew ahead of time to entertain myself with her reaction. |

Good episode. Much better than last week. The end was pretty well done I thought.

I was HBO-less last Sunday, so I actually just did the last 2 episodes back-to-back. Not sure how I waited on last week's until today honestly.

It's only been a few minutes of pondering, but I think that was my favorite episode of the series. Maybe because it was fairly unexpected compared to the Battle of Blackwater Bay.

Definitely one of the better episodes. The ending was amazing. I am reading book 3 now and have just gotten ahead of the tv series which I think has added to the enjoyment.

That was one of the best episodes of the season, if not the show.
The final scene was fantastic. I had pretty high expectations for it, since it's one of the best in the book as well and they aboslutely nailed it. Wonderfully shot and acted. Emilia Clarke really channeled her inner-Drogo there. I also really liked how the scene at Craster's unfolded. The Cersei/Tywin scene was great as was the Varys/Queen of Thorns scene. Great stuff.

Varys/Queen of Thorns was a great "hidden gem" of a scene. But that last scene...damn...I want to watch it again right now!!!!
Probably won't be topped in her story until

I think the Dany scene was one of my most anticipated scene from the books. It is closely followed by the other major scene coming this season. I was so excited to see it play out on the screen. Just such a sweet turn of events (and one the few big surprise turns that are positives in the whole series).

I really enjoyed that episode, as well, and think it may have been the best in the series.
I think the lady that is playing Olenna Tyrell has been great. She's gotten in a number of memorable quotes. |

As I've said before, Dany's chapters were always the least favourite of mine in the books - the first 3, anyway. I enjoy them 100x more in the TV series for some reason and last night was amazing.

Yeah I'm really enjoying that minor sub-plot... I'm fairly certain that was not in the books? I'm sure I would have remembered it...

Tyrion set Podrick up with several whores as a thank you for saving his life, and left him a large-ish sack of gold to pay for them. Several scenes later, Pod comes back, and still has the sack full of coins. The story is that he was so good in bed that the girls didn't charge him for their time. I'm pretty sure this happened in the book, but it was only a minor footnote. I really am enjoying the repeated references to it in the show. |
