I've got the opposite opinion of 2k10, got it last night and the SP prospect I created has already started 22 games in a full season with the minors. Well worth the $2 already. Just started the second season with an invite to spring training where he's a bit out of his depth.

Using a controller with no problems, though I did have to set up the buttons before it would work.

I picked up Front Office Manager for .99 and have already got my money's worth. It's nothing fantastic, but I'm certainly having fun with it.

I don't see how. It has no way that I can see. Horribly set-up GUI. And FOM just crashes. Since there is no real support for it, I have no hope of ever getting it up.

Not on sale, but Shank is at least worth the download of the demo, which is very quick to get through due to only facing one boss. Likely not a long game, but it's cheap and it's a beer and pizza kind of fun game where you can jump on the boss and impale him with your chainsaw. It's a definite pick up if it goes on sale. Note, the game does say it's best played with a controller from the get go. Using the keyboard wasn't too bad though.

Does hooking up a controller require anything else beyond the controller itself? I only have XBox(not 360) controllers and I have no clue how those would connect.

Pretty much answered my own question by looking at a 360 controller.

Amazon is running a Buy 3 video games for the Price of 2 special through this Saturday. Looks like it only includes "in stock" items. If they had included COD: Black Ops, I would have already placed my order. But for those of you looking to buy, or planning ahead for the holidays, not a bad deal at all.

I ended up buying COD: Black Ops through Amazon. They gave me Release Date guaranteed arrival, and 200 "points", which equates to $20 off a future purchase (good for one year). That ended up being the best deal I could find.

What are the odds that Civ V and/or Football Manager 11 will have a Christmas sale on Steam this year?

A Steam deal (only $5 off so it's not like the other deals they have had in the past):

I wasn't able to get this price off of their site but was able to through the Game For Windows Live Marketplace program.

Just saw the AOE deal on Twitter, very nice. I also liked that I was able to use 10 Microsoft(Xbox) points for it and not have to update my CC info with them.

It is a legit deal rather than a misprice, there is a link to it on the front page of the website.

http://www.gamesforwindows.com/en-US/dailydeal/day7/

Deal expires at 10pm PT

The European Games for Windows sites are also selling the game for £0.10 or €0.10 today.

I think they've been trying to compete with Steam more lately so it's probably an attempt to get people on Games for Windows Live.

I'd never bought games through GFWL before, but there have been several games I've had that require it's use for DRM or multiplayer. For a while GFWL was the only place you could get the Fallout 3 DLC.

I don't think I'll buy games off it though unless it's not available elsewhere or there is a much better deal than I could find elsewhere.

Does anyone have any opinions on the game? Yeah, 10 cents is a great deal, but playing a crappy game has a spendy opportunity cost.

It probably took me 2 minuets total, but I can understand not wanting to do it.

My main reason for doing it was like others said, more games might be distributed via this system, so I figured I'd bite the bullet now and create the account.

It was definitely a pain for me, too. They kept telling me that my gmail account was already an ID, and when I tried to get the password for that email address, they kept telling me I typed the ID wrong. It finally worked when I just used another email address.

not sure this belongs here, but I just picked up a Rock Band 2 SE for $70 on the clearance rack at target. I've played the older Guitar Hero games but never made the jump to Rock Band partly because of the cost of the hardware. Couldn't pass up this deal when I saw it.

Go to the Downloads tab in the Games for Windows Marketplace client. Click on Age of Empires III and there should be a downwards arrow and a link for View Game Keys. Use the Game Activation Key as the product key. If you don't have one, Microsoft apparently ran out of keys during the sale and you should have a key showing up there in the next few days.

yes if you run the Windows Live client, and then click the details button for your download, it should appear there.
