Hats off and willing to say Wisconsin surprised me yesterday. I actually expected an IU victory.

Dont worry. Iowa is going to knock the B1G out of the playoffs later.

Starting QB would have been a help for them and it was close into the 3rd quarter.

The Itty Bitty Ten is still wildly unimpressive.

Just a quick note that Dante Pettis is now the all-time leader in punt returns for touchdowns:

What on earth did people see in Indiana to think they could beat Wisconsin?

I think that might be more about what people didn't see in Wisconsin tbh.

It was a 7 point game until 10:15 left in the 4th quarter with Indiana using their backup QB.

I dunno, it's not that crazy a notion if you see them losing to Michigan by 7 and Michigan State by 8. Throw in Maryland loss and their last three had been by a combined 18 points.

I'd have been less shocked by IU over Wisconsin than, say, Coastal over Arkansas. I mean, it's not Minnesota over Michigan crazy or something.

That's right, I was just shaking in my boots at that point thinking Indiana was going to pull it off.

Look at what Oklahoma's defense did against non Big-12 teams. When 4 of the nation's top 10 offenses by S&P are in your conference you're going to look bad sometimes.

I'm not saying Oklahoma has a good defense, but it's almost impossible to have a defense that looks good in the Big 12.

Wow, The line on Wisconsin/Iowa game a full touchdown too high.

-13.5 for Wisconsin. I know it's at home but it screams a 7 pt spread given the history.

Might be nice -- and better for the conference as a whole -- if a few more teams in the B12 appeared to at least try to have one more often.

At this point there's kind of a "Rockies discount" on any offense that goes up in the conference, you have to try to figure out what the production would be under normal circumstances

I hope FKF lets BF call the game again. Wiscy may be in trouble if that happens.

Using that same metric they are 115 out of 130 in defensive S&P. No excuse for that when they recruit top 25 classes yearly.

ITs the anti SEC argument.. for years we've heard how good SEC defenses are.... but is it good defense or bad offense.

True. It is our punter out there.

Then our sophomore QB fires a bullet with a future pro DE wrapped around his ankle. What a game by Iowa.

tacrone, check this article out

Nate Stanley wanted to go to Wisconsin but Gary Andersen didn't want him. When Andersen quit, sounds like Chryst tried to reel him in but he ended up staying firm with Iowa.

Hornibrook or Stanley? I'd take Stanley as my QB right now.

On that play fake, the right tackle/guard has to be lined up in the backfield to make the long snapper eligible. My middle school level football reffing experience tells me that's a blown call since he is within a half yard or so. Cool play design but the guard/tackle/tight end got lucky. The game was already over at that point so hopefully this won't be seen as sour grapes.

Yeah, I must have rewound to the set formation half a dozen times trying to figure out how the long snapper was eligible, before giving up and assuming the RT/G must have been deemed (seemingly incorrectly) to be off the line.

We get that tarc.

I think the issue is that the first TE (as the video refers to him) isn't really off the line. It's a judgment call and I have no doubt they checked it with the ref before the play (or even before the game), but he's pretty close to the line--doesn't appear to be a yard off.

He looks off the line to me. The ball is on the 20 and his front foot is on the 21.

Are you looking at number 86? His hand is lined up directly on the 21 - which is where all the other swinging gate guys are lined up as well. Him being on the LOS should not have allowed the center to being an eligible receiver.

I disagree. Both receivers tot he right of the LS are clearly behind the LOS.

No. I know Im coming across as a homer. But I see him off the line. And what does it really matter. Th refs agree with me.

I really dont know why Im arguing it.

Im out of town this weekend at a rugby tourney in Mobile, AL. They have an olds boy division. So I will be playing. Will miss Iowa spanking Wiscy.

My prediction?
Iowa 31
Wiscy 14

Go Hawks!

Zip it, both of you.

I believe the Badgers will win by 10+. Iowa is 0-2 away from home in the Big Ten. Wisconsin will be lit and the defense is too good, even if we are missing our top linebackers this week.

A couple of interesting articles. The Big Ten needs to do something about its unbalanced divisions. Wisconsin gets a cakewalk, while teams in the East knock each other out of contention for the playoff.

I like the idea of getting rid of divisions.

But I disagree Wisconsin gets a cake walk every year. thats just a terrible statement.

How many currently ranked teams has Wisconsin played so far? One. Northwestern - Ranked #25

Indiana has played Wisconsin (#8), Mich St (#12), OSU (#13), and PSU (#14).

It changes every year for each team, the Badgers had Michigan and Ohio St the prior years.

It is what it is. If there's a way to get rid of divisions fairly then yes. But with 12 teams, unless everyone plays each other and have 1 non con game then nothing will change.

You could probably move Michigan over and send Purdue to the other side and get as close to balanced as possible..

But as a fan of Wisconsin, I'm loving it this way lolol

It does seem like whichever team in the West gets easier crossover games will end up winning the division.

The best/easiest switch would be Michigan State for Purdue. UM/MSU still play each year as a protected rivalry game.

I don't think it gets any serious momentum unless an undefeated Wisconsin doesn't get in.

Belated, but good to see Wyoming bowl eligible once again after dispensing the rival from down US-287.
