They made it one round farthur than our team in the NCAA tournament. You see we have made an elite 8 and they have made a final 4. So one more round signifies a better team historically. I guess we must be a better team than Texas this year in basketball?

Yes, Texas athletics are regarded as unsuccessful.

Mizzou, Panerd, as a fellow Mizzou fan listen to me when I say enjoy the KU win and Mizzou's remaining time in the tourney. You both seem to have your claws out and im not quite sure why, the past 2-3 days have been great as Mizzou fans(including our female gymnast being crowned #1 in the nation and Max Askren wrestling for a national title today)

Nah. I enjoy KU losing and just don't understand how you can attack someone for celebrating when your team just got knocked out of the tournament two nights ago. I will disengage as I am sure this pisses off everyone else.

Go Mizzou. I'd take another game like last time Wash went up against Mike Anderson in the tourney.

I kindof get that but not entirely.

Do I like when someone other than the Yankees wins the World Series? Sure. But it doesn't really give me a lot of warm fuzzies. I mean, if the team that wins has a good story (say, Colorado making the World Series, for instance)- I'm happy for them. But I don't get a lot of pleasure from seeing a team I don't like lose. I got a lot more from the Royals 83-81 season (and we're not exactly talking about a high bar here) than I ever would from the Yankees or Red Sox losing.

And god forbid there be something completely insane and unexpected like our 12-1 football season or winning the national title after being down 7 with under 2 to go. I could live off sports memories like that forever

KU won?

Right now, I'm just focusing on getting KSU a win. I'd like to see the rest of the Big 12 teams continue to advance, though it seems that being a high seed doesn't mean much in this tourney.

BYU's defense is pretty good. They're offense leaves something to be desired most of the time though.

And Go Wake Forest!

Face it. Cartman will be in this thread the minute Mizzou loses (either tomorrow or if they do pull out the win later in the week). He will claim it is because of me or MBBF when in reality and it is the exact same reason we were happy today. A team lost that we don't care for.

Where have I implied that? I simply countered panerd's claim that prior to the tourney that a team like Mizzou had articles written that projected a deep tourney run. You and he are so thin skinned regarding Mizzou you take it as a personal affront any time anyone doesn't share your view of the team.

Where do they have national title competitions for gymnastics anyways?

Let me guess? He was wrestling someone from Iowa, right (because if it's wrestling, it pretty much has to be Iowa)?

They certainly are doing plenty on offense right now though, but I think that's more KSU's defense.. but maybe I'm wrong.

Normally I root for the ACC when they are not playing Florida State but go Wildcats. John Wall is like a dream come true at point guard.

Umm ... wrong on both counts.

With the exception of the football national championship, no successful moment in Georgia Tech sports has ever exceeded (and rarely approached) the elation I get from watching UGA lose.

Agreed and it's no coincidence that the KSU-BYU game is now tied at 25 with 5:24 to go (for tk)

KY is up 6 with about 6 to go.

The top seeds in each bracket seem to have gotten the shaft with the exception of Duke.

In the end the seedings honestly don't matter. If you want to win a national title you're eventually going to face a team or two that makes your squad struggle for every possession.

Agreed, but that path is a lot easier if you only have to face 3 of those instead of 5, for instance.

Certainly, but in the end it doesn't really matter if you lost in the first round or the finals. Ok, that's not exactly true given the fame of the Final Four but you get my meaning. Only one team can win it and thus every team has to beat multiple quality teams to do so.

I'm not excusing Wall or Cousins, but there are far worse things they could be doing than being immature at their age.

The level of immaturity they display is a big warning sign for future behavior, regardless of whether they are rewarded with multi-million dollar contracts or never become professional players. These guys are a time bomb from a personal responsibility standpoint, especially Cousins with his aggressive behavior.

For the record, I'm in favor of legalizing marijuana. However, it should be noted that my main reason is to allow natural selection to take place at an accelerated pace.
