I'll be surprised if Mau isn't the last mobster based mostly on his comments today. I also take myself back to the first day when he bid on and won the money transfer. Why would any villager bid on that the first day when you have no idea of any trusted person to send money? Without knowing the restrictions on the mafia pooling their money, there could've been an actual use for it though.

You're wrong but I don't blame you. We'll figure it out in the morning. It will be a lot more clear if it plays out how I know it will.

Hohum. Thought it would be too easy. The worry now is that there is some sort of hidden mechanic that someone has been hiding behind - along the lines of the wolf being able to make two bids one day or Path's use of the night kill leading to a conversion. But we can let loose the hounds of paranoia after today (tomorrow in reality), where the obvious candidates are Path and mau.

Mau if you're a villager then you screwed up not getting your bid in. I get the feeling that you're fishing to be scanned, in which case I hope Jackal scans Path. Perhaps using the third black market service meant that a wolf could pick a free service from all the ones that have been out there and the wolf picked cunning.

Yes the hounds of paranoia are already straining at the leash.

So why DID you bid on the money transfer service mau?

I'm guessing that we think 7 starting wolves is too many, right? 9:7 seems a bit steep for the village to climb when the stupid hitman won't take out wolves.

Does anyone want to claim the services on day five. Particularly interested in the Casino Manager and how much money they won on that. Day Five there was murra5y, zinto and AN Other left. Seems safe to say that Zinto didn't get the arms dealer, murra5y might have. The problem I see is that mau won a service on that day. If he's a wolf and there's no shenanighans then the village must have got the casino manager and bodyguard. If one of those isn't claimed then it suggests that mau is villager. Path claimed that he bid on the arms dealer so it wasn't him.

Incidentally I used the money transfer on that day to move a sum of money to someone else.

Looking at everything I think Path is the baddy. Both mau and Path had votes on fonti on day one but Path moved his off pretty quickly. Path killing murra5y helps his team much more than mau outing Zinto does. I'm surprised he bid on the killer though. Maybe he hoped people wouldn't bet on the services assigned to them. Maybe he realised his goose was cooked and wanted to take someone down with him.

I can see the case for path too. As long as it's one of them I'll be happy.

As I said yesterday, I won the BG every day other than when it wasn't bid on and when Jackal won it (and not yesterday obviously)

Sorry, the day in question you're talking about is when Jackal won the BG. I bid only $200. Path claims he lost the arms dealer bid. I agree that everyone should put all their bids on the table now because that's a good point about Mau there.

D3 - cookies $350 on DT
D4 -no bid
D5 - Seer - Scanned Z

I have possibly helped on two fronts against both sides of mafia using ladies against DT and scanning Zinto. I deserve slightly more credit,

So if no one claims the Casino manager that day, it would appear to have gone to a wolf and would clear Mau, Jackal, and Narc since they won other bids and the other two wolves presumably won the other two black market services. Of course if it's this easy then the game should be over after we get the night results anyway.

Looking at day three, it would take a small miracle for mauchow to be a wolf putting a bid in on another service when there are 4 blackmarket services taken. That means that the 2 wolf teams would have to unwittingly synchronise their bids. Seems more likely that there was double-bidding on the hitman.

BLACK MARKET SERVICES - HIRE AT YOUR OWN RISK
Joe "Creaky" Reitzler, hitman - $501
Mikhail Vavilov, arms dealer - $1,066

So if no one claims the Casino manager that day, it would appear to have gone to a wolf and would clear Mau, Jackal, and Narc since they won other bids and the other two wolves presumably won the other two black market services. Of course if it's this easy then the game should be over after we get the night results anyway.

I believe you mau. But with my track record in this game that means you're a wolf.

Each day each player will have the opportunity to spend their money by bidding on these services in Atlantic City. The player who bids highest will gain the use of that power that night. Players may only bid on one service per day. A player can bid any amount of money (though their bid will be capped at how much money they actually have after deadline).

Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything in the rules.

The fact that a wolf bid more on the manager than the hitman would suggest that the wolves knew how valuable the manager was (I'd been guessing that it gave an extra vote or something. Maybe it does). So Path again.

Yeah, I'm getting on board with your thinking. I guess I'm a goner tonight then.

He claimed he won over $2000 and spent $800 on the seer + $160 that we know of on the other service, but was able to spend $3400 on the hitman. Hmmm.

The main worry I have is that I remember the Rome game a loooong, loooong time ago. There was bidding on services in that as well and a secret exploit that the wolves had meant that (villager) Chief Rum lead the village up the garden path, without the wolves having to do much of anything.

He can always claim to have won money on bets but I doubt he'll bother/get the chance.

FWIW - Aside from the ladies yesterday, I only ever won 1 bid - that of the hitman.

There any particular day you guys need me to look up what I bid/lost on?

I bid and lost (badly) on the Casino Manager that day, as an FYI.

As opposed to yesterday, today everybody is up even before dawn. The tension in the air of the city is obvious as people jostle at the newstand or rush to their doorsteps to see the paper. The front page is splashed with the headline: MURDER IN ATLANTIC CITY. It appears another body has been found, peppered with bullets in the trashed remains of his apartment. The gambler you knew as JAG has been found murdered.

Day 8 has begun.

Well now we wait for Jackal to tell us if this game is about to get crazy, or if its about to be over.

I won Mick for $500 on D5, not D6

Unfortunately you've assured yourself early deaths in the next few games as a villager. And early seer scans in games you're a wolf. Danny will be pleased.
