I'm going to be heading to Dallas this year (twice hopefully) to watch the Saints - Cowboys on Turkey Day, might try to catch a Stars game that weekend also. Have you been to Jerry World yet- any advice on seating?

I've only been once, and we had great seats (20 yard line, row 17). Even though the seats were good, I still had trouble keeping my eyes off of JerryVision at times. It's an amazing building, go early so you can explore. I really can't help you with seating advice, though...

The picture of Tebow on the front page of ESPN.com right now isn't making me too impressed with his "new and improved" throwing mechanics.

Dez Bryant out 4-6 weeks with high ankle sprain. I have a feeling he may have a lot of lingering injuries and be a big disappointment this year.

Not to mention that by all reports he has the IQ of a toad and will never be able to pick up an offense more complicated than run in, run out, run deep.

Browns sign Joe Haden for 50 mil over 5 years and 26mil guaranteed. Montario Hardesty is injured though it's only a twisted knee so at least it's nothing too bad.

Moreno carted off during Broncos practice, Buckhalter leaves practice early as well but under his own power.

Denver paper reporting it now as partially torn hamstring for Moreno (according to sources), just a balky upper back injury of some sort for CB.

You know, there is little I find more annoying as a sports fan than to have a player on my team with a constant string of nagging injuries. You just know that Moreno's hamstring will be an issue with him all season long now. Personally, I'd rather have a guy 90% as good, but who is always ready to go. Instead, Broncos fans will have to deal with "is he playing this week?" all season long. Ugh.

A healthy Bob Sanders is a NFL defensive player of the year (2007). However Bob is never healthy. In only 2 seasons of his 6 years has he played in at least half of the Colts games.

So Favre is telling teammates he won't be coming back.

Which just sets the stage for the most dramatic comeback ever.

This is last year all over again in regards to Favre. He must feel guilty for not being at training camp so he has to make this crap up every year.

Or it is the team trying to get the other players to train harder by acting as if Favre isnt coming back. Apparently the Vikings has a very intense practice on the heels of this news.

This is almost exactly when Favre told the Vikings he wasn't coming back last year.

I bet they would have liked to know during the offseason, but I guess that's part of what you acquire with this drama queen.

I'll believe it when the 2010 season is complete.

I believe their next step is probably to put him on the active PUP list then the 6 week PUP list and see what happens and if his vagina, I mean ankle responds.

I really, really, really hope he's retired for good. That would screw over the Vikings nicely. I hate the Vikings.

I hate pretty much every NFL team, except for the Lions and Browns. It's not my fault. After the last 10 years with the Lions my NFL heart is a black, twisted dry husk of a thing. It knows only spite and anger. There is no joy in it. It only wants to see the NFL teams suffer as it has suffered.

I'll believe it when he's not on the field week 1, I'd put a good bit of money on him playing.

If he not, he royal fucked the Vikings over as they had other chances to get a solid replacement ready.

His one final act to win back GB fans. Take your rival to an almost-certain SB, then throw it away with an inexcusable INT, and follow-up that up by retiring so late before the next season that you take them from preseason NFC favorites to second behind GB in the NFC North.

AP source: Favre tells Vikings he will not return - Yahoo! News

Quote:
Childress shrugged off all the questions and admitted he didn't know whether Favre would really come back. The Vikings didn't pursude a trade for Donovan McNabb and declined to select a quarterback of the future in the draft.

Articles that make English teachers weep.

Favre is like Jason from Friday the 13th. Just like I would only believe Jason is dead when his head it cutoff and in someone's hands - I'll believe Favre is retired when the paperwork is filed.

I would say I'd believe it when he is dead, but we would probably get Zombie Favre.

I'm calling that he comes back in week seven. He will be on the PUP, the Vikings will be 3-3 and he will ride in on his horse and try to save the day.

Those who don't remember the past are condemned to repeat it:

• July 17, 2009: Favre works out with high school players in Mississippi and vows to give the Vikings an answer by the start of training camp on July 30.

• July 28, 2009: Favre tells the Vikings he won't end his second retirement. In what he calls the "hardest decision" he ever made, Favre says, "I didn't feel like physically I could play at a level that was acceptable."

• Aug. 18, 2009: Favre reverses his decision and joins the Vikings. He says he wants to bring a championship to Minnesota.

-----

• July 12, 2010: Favre worked out with high school students in Hattiesburg, Miss. The QB did not speak about his status, however, and ran to his truck and drove away when approached by reporters.

• August 3, 2010: Favre has informed the Vikings he will not return to Minnesota for a second season, according to multiple reports. Favre has sent text messages to teammates saying, "This is it," league sources told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

• August 16-18, 2010: ???

He will be back.

I'm sure what is going on now is that the Vikings wanted Favre to commit to something (be it after the 2nd preseason game or whatever). Favre got all huffy and just started texting out to everyone that he was done. (pretty much seems to be the pattern, you put him to the fire and he gives retirement as the answer). Now management will need to step back and go.. whoa whoa whoa... Did we say the 2nd preseason game? By 2nd preseason game we meant by week 1. Oh, and here is another 3 million. We cool?

Of course then Brett will show up, give a 'Aw shucks, didn't want to let the team down and they showed they really want me. I mean, I never SAID I was retiring" and 1/2 the nation will cock gobble him and the other half will grow even more tired of this.

Put me firmly in the 2nd camp. Please Brett, just crawl into a hole somewhere and die already.

Until the consecutive games streak is broken, he's not retired. He is, however, in the words of Borat "retarded."
