boo ya i'm getting so much PT as a starter this is the 1st time i've needed to set my training to "none" in order to get the maximum amount of stamina back in time for the next game. i'm also 300 xp away from leveling up a 2nd time so far this season. we've played 2 games - defense has allowed 0 pts so far. pretty impressive. i guess there's a role for everybody, some want to be prime time players, i'm sure there's others don't have a prob chipping in on a more minor, infrequent level. different strokes as they say. one isn't any more of a team player than the next. some want to help the team by being involved in as many plays as possible, others want to help the team by allowing the better players to do their thing. no one has to be the bad guy for wanting to do more, no one is essentially the hero for accepting a lesser role. communication is the only necessary element. My failure with Cloud last year was not getting him more special teams action - had I done so and Cloud had gotten closer to 30 plays a game, his development would have been on par with the rest of the guys on the team. My team's (well, mostly me with numbers provided by my guys) done some analysis this season and 30 plays a game from a non-boosted guy gets you more experience over the course of a season than 50+ plays a game from a boosted guy. (a) players get more XP/play at lower levels and (b) players gain more XP from their first play than their second, more XP from their tenth play than their thirtieth, etc. At least this season, they've significantly balanced out (in a good way imo) the per game XP gain. Obviously, maximal player development (XP) is via 40+ plays, unboosted...but that's not feasible for many teams if you also want to win. |

My WR is tired with all these returns. First time I've had to turn off training to get ready for the next game.

Hmmm...
I had a lvl 10 FS that was starting, but he was seeing less snaps than both of his backups. Looking at the depth chart I noticed that one of my backups was catching double duty at backup CB and SS, and that he saw a lot more action in terms of plays and tackles. Our depth sucks at CB, so dude was mopping up in relief and spending a lot more time on the field than both of the starting safeties. Getting a little wily, I asked my coach to take my guy out of the starting role at FS, and let me play backup at FS, SS, and 3rd on the CB depth chart....he agreed, but with me at 4th on the CB depth chart, rather than 3rd. My backup FS is only a level below me, so the dropoff wasn't that great at my position, while my guy is a big stepup over the previous backups, and the hope is that I'd actually end up on the field more. The result? Today I led the team in plays and tackles. Woohoo! |

New energy changes added today, the team owners can play the backups now if winning by X in the Yth quarter, or playing the starters always on third down situations, or in the last X minutes of the game etc.

I have some players that I'm looking to trade. They're all fine, no big issues, they just want to play (can't blame them).
K Ronnie Clutch lvl10 DE Glenn Kendrick lvl9 C Iron Joe lvl 7 Kendrick is starting, but being played out of position at DE. He'd rather actually use his pass rush abilities instead of clogging the middle..go figure... Both of those guys are active and want to play. I also have a semi-active guy that logs in every 7 days or so that I don't need. Now that I look, it's bee 13 days for him now. . . anyway... LB Jim Solo lvl6 I'm looking for human active guys. A like leveled DT would be ideal. 2nd choice would be a LB. Really prefer the DT though. If they are lvl5 or higher they'd start. Could use very young HB or CB's that just want special teams/backup time. |

Great win for the Lynx today.
http://goallineblitz.com/game/game.pl?game_id=21141 After a couple of rocky games to start, we've hit a groove the last two. It makes a world of difference to have an active team. With them, this team has gotten a lot better in just the first quarter of the season. |

I'm thinking it was energy. I've gone all day and my player's energy hasn't budged. The bulk of my team's, however, has increased.

I have a level 4 power running back. I'd like to go to a team where I can play (and potentially be a starter down the road). I plan to boost each season and upgrade when possible. Here's his player card:

GG Icy, I messed up with the adv energy settings and inadvertantly took my starting QB out for over a quarter. Ugh these things are going to take some time to get figured out.

Good game from you too, you have been the toughest opponent for us this season. I understand about the energy settings as it happened to me the game before this one, all my backups, including the backup QB played since the end of the 1st Q. We got the win anyway, but it could have been a huge score difference if not because that mistake. It was even worse for me, as i had my punter as kicker backup and kicker as punter backup, so the punter kicked 7 field goals (at least he managed to make 3 from those 7). I learned from it and found the perfect settings for today game against you.

I have to say, having an OC/DC/GM has helped a lot as I am working on keeping the finances proper, keeping everyone happy and recruiting new talent with the GM.
The cool thing, having an OC/DC allows a multiple view of the other team. It has translated into a 3 game winning streak now that they have a handle on things.

I don't think I'm too the point where I can give up control yet...having too much fun setting up every game since it's my team's first season. I will say though once i get there I have a ton of quality candidates on my team. Several guys have emailed me with their scouting reports of our next opponents offense/defense. I'd probably give up offense first when the time comes, I prefer defense anyway. |

So if you give a GM control, you can still tweak things if needed? That's cool. I know one possible GM would be good at it, but he's not always on every couple of days. |

It only works because we have a pretty good group of guys all around. The OC and I(DC) don't need to have the final say on everything and the GM and Macro work very well together. I could see the situation being a nightmare with guys that need to always be right. It's working for us, though. I've had a lot of fun running the defense and we've now assembled a group of guys that are all active and happy with their roles. I think it's really helped to post every tactical decision we make so the guys aen't left in limbo.

Hey guys,
Pimping some spots on our team, the Canadian Pro League Victoria Admirals. We're looking to add depth at LB, depth (or a starter depending on your level) at DE, and at Free Safety. I'm PurdueBrad over at Blitz, drop me a line and we can work something out. Blitz is blocked at work so it may take me till the afternoon to get back to you but I will. |

For any fellow Silverbacks players, I have put together a rough Access database of our stats for this season.
http://web.aanet.com.au/21C/Grand_Junction.zip I have a couple of queries in there, which I will add to, and eventually use this to make a few web pages for our team - I hate that I can't see season stats for just our team. I'll do more with it soon but it's getting very late here. I thought somebody might like to play around with it for now. I plan on doing the same for the Season 1 stats. I believe that all of the game logs still exist but the mods haven't created a front end to access them yet. Last edited by 21C : 05-08-2008 at 10:40 AM. Reason: Fixed link |

They played against a team that started a bunch of low level players. Still expect a tough game from them because they have played well against some of the better teams in the league. I read in the forums that he boosted his team early in the season and that's why he is doing so well. I'm not an owner so I don't know what that means.

Well, the Lexington Lynx won their 5th straight today, a big 28-0 win over a fairly decent 3-3 team in the conference. Now at 5-2, we are just a game out of first...a far cry from the 0-2 and 15th place spot we were in 10 days ago.
If anyone is making a low level CB or WR anytime soon, I have a spot for you. We are a little thin at CB and I have 2 inactives at WR and will need someone soon I think (and they'll play a lot as a 3rd option if they are decently leveled...and at the worst, a 4th option with some play time) Thanks. Can't get enough of this game. My team is awesome, great bunch of guys. |

What level are people at now, roughly? I've got a level 10 TE thats pretty decent on a team where I don't know any guys. I'd look for a trade if possible if I'm needed by a fof team.
