67-64 UNI after a KU putback. UNI ball with 6.7 seconds when we return.

Oh no, I definitely want KU to lose and I fully admit that I am seeing the game from an anti-KU point of view.

I'm like "you can't take that 3....holy cow, he made it."

It's a good example of knowing your shot and he had an open look, so I guess if you're gonna do it, there's the time to do it.

UNI earned this win, they've led almost the whole way.

I don't think they should have called a timeout after that bucket.. UNI had not been doing well inbounding the ball after a bucket.. that was it for them, imo.

Love the Northern Iowa player diving at the rolling ball to make them pick it up earlier.

Northern Iowa wins it 69-67!

Utter, complete, and total collapse by Kansas.

The least flawed team in the field just got done in the same way it happened at least once earlier this year, lack of intensity & composure. Obviously the lesson in Knoxville either wasn't learned or was forgotten.

Maybe these big time college programs will start building teams instead of 1-3 star players. If anything that can be proven in this tournament, it's that.

It's the way they played it though. You pass out before you get trapped. They were running to the corner almost and waiting to be trapped before passing or making a move.

Yeah, I get that- possibly more than all but a couple on this board. But, really, prior to the tourney, who was the #1 seed out there?

Congrats to UNI. That was a heck of a performance by them. I said it before and I'll say it again they just imposed their will on Kansas today. Very impressive. They didn't shoot lights out, Kansas didn't play poorly, UNI just executed their game plan.

Unfortunately, you're right. And hubris. Again, I think the coaching staff gets quite a bit of the blame- again, if we had put more defensive pressure on them rather than holding back until it was too late, this might have been a completely lopsided game. Sure, Collins also gets his fair share tho, like meanstrosity said, his crazy competitive streak helps more often than not and you have to take the good with the bad.

Oh well, go Big XII! I'd love to see K-State and Baylor in the Final Four

LOL, right. Ask Kentucky about that. Hell, ask Georgia Tech about that.

Talent will always be selected in spite of head/heart issues,.

78-59 with 4 minutes to go. I just hadn't checked up since earlier in the game.

Agreed. Could Kansas have done things differently? Yeah. But they went out there and imposed their will on us and nothing we could do stopped them until it was much too late.

great for Northern Iowa. My brother has had a man-crush on them since like...last year...so we were all pretty amped for the game today...surprised somewhat and obviously delighted they managed to hold off the late Kansas pressure and take the win!

So you don't know why they are crying especially after they have invested an incredible amount of time with the hopes of winning a championship? They were the heavily favored team to win the whole thing. I would expect them to be crying a river because they realized they blew it. You come off as a perennial bench warm who secretly rooted for your own team to lose.

I'd have to think it gets the vast majority of the blame for this one.

While it's ultimately the players on the floor, this looked like an emotional/psychological carbon copy of the UT game (hate to keep going back to that but there weren't many other losses to compare it to, y'know). Effective coaching ultimately finds a way to overcome that, although at the same time it might be a case where not even a bench of Wooden, Summitt, and Knight could overcome it.

Wow. Sounds like Washington's going to blow some minds.

To think, when Maryland loses to Mich St. tomorrow, it's not going to be a blip on the radar.
