16 minute mark: Camara leaves the game with a non-contact knee injury. It doesn't appear too serious. We are up 8-6.

12 minute mark: Tied at 16, Duffy and Shiloh get a break.

9 minute mark: Boxley just picked up his 2nd foul. We bring Camara back while resting all of our other starters. We are down 22-18.

6 minute mark: Camara is moving slow. We leave Walton in the game and put Duffy at PF. Shiloh also returns. Down 27-22.

4 minute mark: Shiloh with a fast break dunk and the foul to tie it up at 29.

3 minute mark: Every starter but Camara returns. We are up 32-31.

Rapid scoring burst to end the half.

Halftime: We are up 46-36.

Shiloh is the player of the half with 16 points, 5 assists, 1 board, and 1 steal.

Our top 3: Shiloh, Rack (12), and Tate (7.)

Their top 3: Popoola (9), Soto (7), DeLeon (6.)

19 minute mark: Walton picks up his 3rd foul. We slide Duffy back to center and see if Camara can play effectively. We are up 49-38. Tate hit a quick 3 to start the half (he hit one to end it as well.)

15 minute mark: We are firing 3's from all directions and hitting most of them. Up 65-46. Our crowd is going crazy.

10 minute mark: Up 83-53, I rest my starters.

4 minute mark: We clear out the end of our bench. We are up 96-58. Walton is having his best game I believe.

I've never seen a team roll over and die so badly in the last 10 minutes. It's like we killed their confidence.

We win the game 108-58.

Shiloh is the player of the game with 25 points, 10 assists, 2 boards, and a steal. He shot 10 of 12, 2 of 3, and 3 of 3.

Tate with 23 points, 4 boards, 4 assists, and 4 steals. He shot 8 of 14, 6 of 9, and 1 of 2.

Rack with 21 points, 2 boards, 2 assists, and 2 steals. He shot 5 of 9, 5 of 7, and 6 of 6.

Camara with 0 points, 0 boards, 0 assists, and 0 steals in 15 minutes.

Duffy with 6 points, 8 boards, 2 assists, and 2 steals.

Munir led the bench with 12 points.

Walton with 9 points, 5 boards, and 2 blocks in a career high 23 minutes.

Blizzard and Didlake each had 5 points as well.

Our next game is hosting Arizona State. They are 17-5 and 21st in the media poll. We win the simulated game 75-71. Tate, Duffy, and Shiloh each had 15 points to lead our team. Camara with 7 points. Tate also had 6 assists.

At 19-2, we climb to 3rd in the media poll and 4th in the coaches' poll. Mississippi State lost 2 games this week and dropped to 7th in one poll and 3rd in the other.

Wake Forest is now 13th in both polls.

Our next game is at Stanford. We beat their very strong team 79-69 at home earlier in the year.

They are missing starting SF Randy Doellman due to a sprained ankle. Instead, they will start Bracey Stys, a 6'7 241 pound SF who is rated 80 overall. The rest of the starting report remains the same:

JR PG Charlie Shumate should be a true test of Tate's skills. He is also 6'5 198. He has very good speed (not quite as good as Tate - 93.) He isn't as good of a shooter either. However, he is a tremendous passer, a great ball handler, and a very good defender. He is averaging 9 ppg, 7.5 apg, and 2 spg. He is rated 86 overall.

SR SG Benjamin Dewitt is 6'5 216 and is rated 82 overall. He is a very fast good outside shooter who is below average defensively. He is averaging 9 ppg,

SR PF Aleksandar Chancler is the star of the team. He is 6'6 260 and it is mostly muscle. He is very strong, fast, and is a great finisher. He has a very good post up game, he is a good defender, and his only weakness is his stamina. He is rated 90 overall. He is averaging 19 ppg and 7.4 rpg.

SR C Darnell Farrell is 6'9 258 and is rated 88 overall. He has good mobility, is a great low post offensive player, and is a solid defender. His biggest weakness is his lack of range on his show. He is averaging 18 ppg, 7 rpg, and 1 bpg.

SO Antanas Tolic leads a talented bench. He is 6'5 220 and is rated 82 overall. He is very fast and doesn't have any bad weaknesses except for his tendency not to hustle.

SO PF Jon Farley is the top big man on the bench. He is 6'10 235 and is rated 82 overall. He is the best shot blocker on their team and is overall a good post defender. He is averaging 2.2 bpg in only 18 mpg. He also averages 4 ppg and 4 rpg.

FR SG Vernard Buckendahl is the 3rd guy off the bench and the main focus for the future of the program. He is a 6'3 177 pound player with elite athleticism. He was the 57th player in his class but he could be one of the best to come out of it if he develops well. He is rated 79 overall

The rest of the bench is rated in the mid 70's.

18 minute mark: Shiloh has drawn 2 quick fouls on Stys. We are up 7-0 with 1 steal and fast break basket already from our full court trap.

17 minute mark: Tate gets a 2nd foul on Shumate. We are up 7-3.

15:30: Tate with a nice crossover to beat his man.. he draws a 2nd foul on Chancler who stops him from laying it in. We are up 13-7.

14 minute mark: Shiloh with back to back 3's. We are up 22-9.

12 minute mark: Shiloh with a nasty windmill jam and the foul on the fast break. That is the 2nd on Farley. We are up 28-13.

10:35: Shiloh is very tired so Blizzard comes in for him. We are up 29-13.

8 minute mark: Duffy and Camara take a seat. We are up 31-13.

5 minute mark: Shiloh comes back and the rest of the starters rest. We are up 36-18.

3:20: Shiloh picks up his 2nd foul. His 1st one was a charge early in the game. We are up 36-20.

Halftime: We are up 43-23. Shiloh took over the last 3 minutes and had a spectacular half. He is the player of the half with 20 points, 5 boards, and 1 assist.

Our top 3: Shiloh, Tate (7), and Rack (6.)

Their top 3: Dewitt (9), Farrell (6), and Rickert (4.)

19 minute mark: Shiloh gets a 3rd foul on Stys.

17 minute mark: Tate gets a 3rd foul on Shumate. We are up 52-30.

With their starters in foul trouble, they just can't compete. I pull my starters with 10 minutes to go. We are up 69-42.

4 minute mark: Using their own full court trap, they have gone on a 13-0 run. 69-55. I bring back our starters.

Rack, who has had a bad night, hits a 3 to end their run.

We finish strong. 83-66 win.

Shiloh is the player of the game with 32 points, 7 boards, and 4 assists. He shot 11 of 20, 7 of 12, and 3 of 4.

Tate with 12 points, 7 assists, 4 steals, and 4 turnovers.

Rack with 10 points, 1 board, 2 assists, and 1 steal. He shot 3 of 10, 1 of 7, and 3 of 4.

Duffy with 16 points, 12 boards, and 2 blocks.

Camara with 6 points, 7 boards, 3 assists, and a block.

Blizzard led the bench with 5 points.

Walton with 4 boards in 15 minutes.

I really feel good about this team's chances to win the championship. Of course, next year we are going to become a very young inexperienced team.

A scout who was at last night's game told me that he projects Shiloh to be the #1 pick in the draft. Shiloh has gained 3 points of overall and is now rated 90.

Our next game is at Oregon State. They are 11-11 (2-8.) They are averaging a league low 63 ppg. Their roster strength is only 81. They are led by a big center:

SR PG Rodney N'diaye is going to be dominated in this game. He is 6'0 173 and is relatively slow. He is rated 71 overall with his only strength being his strength for his body frame.

SO SG Jerrold Kately is 6'1 180 and is the fastest player on their team. He is rated 77 overall. He is a slightly above average shooter. He is averaging 7 ppg.

SR SF Reggie See is 6'7 216 and is rated 73 overall. He is slow and doesn't have any real strengths. Shiloh should break him down easily.

FR PF Taquan Schnelderman is 6'8 260 and is rated 70 overall. He is an above average rebounder. Everything else is below average.

JR C Iker Hacker is 6'11 294 and he is their highest rated player at 80 overall. He has good footwork for a big man. He is a strong offensive post player who is a decent defender. He is averaging 19 ppg, 4 rpg, and 1 bpg.

The bench is led by SR SG Alvin Schafer who is 6'6 218 and is rated 74 overall. He is a slow player who is a good midrange shooter.

The rest of the bench is in the high 60's to very low 70's.

12 minute mark: A slow start had us down 11-6, but we are now tied at 15. Shiloh and Tate get a break.

5:30: Camara with his best game of the year offensively. We are up 26-23. Shiloh and the 2nd unit enter the game.

Halftime: We are up 37-33.

Shiloh is the player of the half with 8 points, 4 boards, and 4 assists.

Our top 3: Shiloh, Camara (7), and Tate (6.)

Their top 3: Hacker (11), Kately (6) and See (5.)

13 minute mark: Shiloh with back to back breakaway power dunks (both thanks to steals, one from Tate and one from Shiloh) to put us 55-41. Shiloh gets a breather.

7:35: Unbelievable. We blow out great teams and we are struggling with the weakest team in the Pac-10. Tied at 58 as they have just been drilling their open 3's. I get Shiloh and the 2nd unit into the game.

Shiloh with a 3, then a block which leads to a breakaway dunk as he gathers the carom. After a defensive stop, Shiloh with a crossover dribble, goes baseline and has a nice reverse dunk.

4:45: We are up 70-61 as they call timeout. We bring back all of our starters.

19-0 run before they finally score. 79-63 now with 3:10 to go.

1:30: Up 85-65, I pull my starters.

We win the game 86-65. Amazing last 7 minutes, once we really turned it on.

Shiloh is the player of the game. 35 points, 10 assists, 6 boards, 2 steals, 2 blocks, and 4 turnovers. He shot 9 of 14, 1 of 4, and 16 of 18.

Tate with 17 points, 5 assists, 5 steals, 2 boards, and 2 turnovers. He shot 6 of 10, 4 of 6, and 1 of 4.

Rack with 5 points, 2 boards, and 2 assists on 2 of 10 shooting.

Duffy with 4 points, 9 boards, and a block. He shot 2 of 9.

Camara with 15 points, 5 boards, 1 assist, and 4 steals in his best game for us this year. He shot 7 of 12, 1 of 2, and 0 of 0.

Faulker ned the bench with 5 points and 4 assists (all to Shiloh.)

Walton with 2 points, 3 boards, and a block in 12 minutes.

We are now 21-2 and have risen to 2nd in both polls. The top 10 media poll:

1. Georgia Tech 22-2
2. USC 21-2
3. Temple 21-2
4. Pitt 21-3
5. Miami 18-4
6. Mississippi State 19-3
7. Arizona 19-6
8. Stanford 19-5
9. Xavier 22-4
10. Washington 17-5

The top 10 Coaches Poll:

1. Georgia Tech 22-2
2. USC 21-2
3. Pitt 21-3
4. Temple 21-2
5. Mississippi State 19-3
6. Xavier 22-4
7. Miami 18-4
8. Arizona 19-6
9. Stanford 19-5
10. Texas 20-3

JC FR PG Steffan Detrick continues to tell our staff that he is going to pick USC over Temple and St. Joes. Our staff has looked at him closer and believes he has "A+" potential He already is a very good outside shooter.

C Andres Henning is still leaning strongly towards Memphis, but he is coming to visit our campus this week.

We win our simulated game at UCLA 98-82. Duffy with 33 points, 6 boards, and 3 blocks. Shiloh with 22 points, 7 boards, 2 assists, and a block. Didlake led the bench with 9 points.

Our next game is hosting #6 Arizona. They are 21-6 (11-4) and they have an overall roster strength of 94 now. We lost to them at their place 78-75 earlier in the year in a simulated game. They have 3 very talented players in their starting 5:

SR PG Dave Fox is the biggest superstar on the team. He is only 5'10 177 but he has 99 speed and should give Tate a challenge in guarding him. He also is an excellent 3 point shooter (88.) However, with Tate's size and near equal speed, I think he'll be up to stoppingt Fox. Fox is rated 90 overall. He is averaging 11 ppg and 5.5 apg.

SR SG Brett Archie is 6'3 202 and is rated 88 overall. He also has excellent speed (93) and is a shut down perimeter defender (94.) He is also an elite 3 point shooter (94.) He is averaging 16 ppg, 3 rpg, and 3 apg.

JR SF Jonpaul Towe is 6'6 217 and is rated 87 overall. He does everything very well with no weaknesses. He is one of the best dunkers in college basketball (97.) He is averaging 12.5 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 2.2 apg, 1.6 spg, and 1.6 bpg.

JR PF Antwl Mance is 6'8 235 and he is rated 82 overall. He is a very dangerous midrange shooter who has 3 point range. He is also very fast for a PF. Defensively, he is weak. He is averaging 10.8 ppg, 4.1 rpg, and 1.4 bpg.

SO C Roger Clifford is 6'10 240 and he is rated 79 overall. Offensively, he is weak. However, he is one of the most instinctual shot blockers I've ever seen with a 94 rating. He is a bit slow and doesn't heave great leaping ability. He is averaging 3 ppg, 4 rpg, and 1.2 bpg in 12 mpg.

SR C Dedrick Green gets more minutes off the bench. He is a 6'11 260 pound center who is rated 79 overall as well. He is averaging 4 ppg, 2 rpg, and 0.6 bpg in 24 mpg. I wonder if they are going to start giving the sophomore more minutes.

The bench is led by JR PG Stephan Hinrich, a 6'2 211 pound player who is rated 86 overall. He has elite speed as well (95) with a great first step. He is a terrific off ball stealer.

JR SG Joshua Hendry is 6'6 218 and is rated 83 overall. He is a fast player with excellent 3 point shooting. He is the leading scorer off the bench averaging 14 ppg.

SR SF Jadee Fletcher is a 6'7 217 pound wing player who is the best midrange shooter on the team. He is averaging 8 ppg in 14 mpg.

The rest of the bench is rated in the high 60's. I hope to get this game in later today, but it might not be until next weekend. Only 3 more games in the regular season after this one.

Our team unity is now up to a ridiculous 90.

18 minute mark: Tate gets a 2nd foul on Fox. That will be huge. We are up 5-3.

Next play, Tate steals it from their backup PG and is fouled just before he can dunk it. He hits both FT's to put us up 7-3.

15 minute mark: They have hit 3 3's in a row. Down 12-10.

13:33: After allowing a 12-0 run, Tate drives to the hoop, makes the basket and gets fouled. He finishes the 3 point play. Down 17-13.

Another pair of quick 3's for them before Shiloh hits a 12 footer. 23-15.

12 minute mark: Archie has been burning us with 3's, but Rack just got a 2nd foul on him. Down 23-18.

11:43: Camara just picked up his 2nd foul. He, Duffy, and Shiloh all take a seat.

11:04: Tate with another drive to the basket, hits a nice pullup jumper and gets fouled by Mance. That is Mance's 2nd foul.

Tate singlehandedly getting us back into the game with a combination of drives and pull up jumpers. With 9:44 left, he ties it at 25.

7:30: Tate and Rack are exhausted and have each missed their last 2 shots. They will both sit as Shiloh and Duffy return to the game.

7 minute mark: Duffy gets a 2nd foul on Clifford. He is just too fast for him.

5 minute mark: They bring back their guys with 2 fouls. Duffy picks up his 2nd foul. Down 35-31.

3 minute mark: Duffy hits a 3 to tie it at 38. Rack returns to the game. A few seconds later, Walton picks up his 2nd foul.

1 minute mark: Duffy picks up his 3rd foul just seconds after Shiloh set up Faulkner for a 3 that gave us our 1st lead in a long time. We are up 45-42 as Duffy sits for the rest of the half (and the opening of the 2nd half.)

Halftime: We are down 46-45. They are keeping themselves in with their 3 point shooting while we are dominating the fast break points and interior scoring.

Towe has had a few spectacular fast break dunks and he is the player of the half with 14 points and 3 boards. He has hit both of his 3's as well.

Our top 3: Tate (13), Shiloh (10), and Duffy (9)

Their top 3: Towe (14), Archie (9), and Hinrich (5.)

Our starting 5 for the 2nd half: Tate, Rack, Shiloh, Camara, and Walton.

18:52: Walton picks up his 3rd foul but will remain in the game for now.

16 minute mark: Shiloh has had a great 2 minute burst with 2 steals, 3 assists, and 2 baskets. We are up 56-52 but Walton just picked up his 4th foul. We'll go small with Camara at center and Boxley at PF.

30 seconds later, Shiloh with a powerful drive to get a 3rd foul on Mance.

14:31: Tate picks up his 3rd foul. We are up 62-55.

13 minute mark: Tate has hit a pair of 3's as they have been backing off him to prevent him from driving. Shiloh also just got a 3rd foul on Towe.

Tate with another 3. They are sagging off too far. Tate with a steal and a breakaway dunk that is stopped by a foul from behind. He makes both FT's to extend the lead to 11. 73-62.

Shiloh with a dunk and the foul. He makes the FT to put us by 14. 76-62.

Tate hits another 3 and then drives for a layup to make it 83-62 before they get a basket to end the run. On the basket, Tate picks up his 4th foul and will sit along with all of our starters except for Duffy who will return to anchor the 2nd unit. 8 minutes left.

7:40: Fox gets his 4th foul trying to help down low on Duffy.

5:23: Duffy picks up his 4th foul. We are up 85-69.

4:34: Walton fouls out. They are down 85-71 as I bring back all of our starters.

4 minute mark: Towe with a spectacular dunk on the fast break. We are up 85-73.

Duffy with a basket and the foul to end their streak. Then, Tate gets a steal.

2 minute mark: Archie hits a pair of 3's. We are up 88-79.

Duffy with a basket, but they get a steal and 2 quick baskets. 90-83.

Shiloh with a great move on his man, a drive into the lane, and a pull-up jumper that Mance fouls him on. That is his 5th foul. He misses the FT, but Duffy gets the board to seal this one.

They foul in the last minute, but we maintain our lead.

Tate blocks a 3 point attempt to end the game. We win the game 96-86.

Duffy with 16 points, 7 boards, 4 assists, and a steal. He shot 5 of 10, 1 of 2, and 5 of 5.

Camara with 11 points and 3 boards.

Walton led the bench with 3 points and 5 boards.

Our next game is hosting a weak Cal team that is 15-14 (5-11) and has a roster strength of 86. We beat them at their place 83-58 earlier in the year. A reminder of their starting 5:

FR PG Andre Ward is 6'0 177 and is currently the weak link on the team with an overall rating of 74 (up 1 from last game.) He doesn't excel in any areas. He was ranked 73rd in his class. He is averaging 6 ppg and 5 apg.

SR SG Lodrick Benton is the star of the team. He is 6'3 225 and is rated 86 overall. He is a very good outside shooter with ok athleticism. He is great at playing the passing lanes. He is averaging 14.6 ppg and 1.9 spg.

SO SF Barry Esterkamp is 6'8 212 and is rated 80 overall. He doesn't excel in any area but is good in most areas. He is averaging 7.4 ppg and 3.7 rpg.

SR PF Elmer Dennehy is 6'11 269 and is rated 79 overall. He has very good strength and is a solid dunker. He doesn't excel in any areas, but is slightly above average in almost all areas. He is averaging 11.5 ppg and 6.3 rpg.

FR C Ronald Hanson is 7'0 254 and is rated 74 overall. He is very slow and doesn't have any refined skills yet except for being a great dunker. He is averaging 7.6 ppg and 5.1 rpg.

The best player on the bench is JR SG Taurance Krauser who is 6'6 209 and is rated 76 overall. Most of the bench is rated in the low 70's.

15 minute mark: Up 8-7. Shiloh is doing almost all of our scoring early as everyone else is missing open shots.

11 minute mark: Shiloh gets a breather. We are up 15-13.

10 minute mark: Duffy gets a 21nd foul on Hanson.

7:30: Every starter except Camara sits down. We are down 18-17.

5:18: Camara sits and Shiloh comes back. We are tied at 19.

4 minute mark: Benton and Walton collide and Benton is hurt. It doesn't look too bad. We are tied at 23.

2:30: We bring back all of the starters. We are up 29-27.

Halftime: Tied at 34. Our guys shooting is off, even our FT shooting is off. We are only shooting 60% from the line where we generally shoot around 80% as a team.

Our top 3: Shiloh (13), Rack (5), and 2 tied at 4, Tate and Camara.

Their top 3: Krauser (9), McGrain (6), and Hanson (5.)

18 minute mark: Duffy gets a 3rd on Hanson. Down 39-36.

16 minute mark: Shiloh gets a 3rd on Esterkamp. Down 43-40.

13 minute mark: Shiloh and Camara get a break. Down 47-46.

11 minute mark: Duffy picks up his 3rd foul on a block attempt. We are down 53-50.

10 minute mark: Duffy picks up his 4th foul. We rest all of our starters except for Shiloh who returns. Down 55-50.

7 minute mark: We had a chance to tie it at 60 after Boxley blocked out, but Munir missed a layup and then was called for a loose ball foul trying to get the rebound. That started a 6-0 run for them. Down 64-58.

6:20: I bring back all of my starters except Shiloh who sits down for a quick rest. We are down 65-58. I thought we might rise to #1 this week, but if we lose this, it will be a huge upset and surely drop us a few spots.

Duffy has it stolen, but he makes up for it on the next possession with a great drop step which leads to a basket and the foul. The good FT makes it 65-61.

Hanson and Duffy exchange baskets twice before we get a stop, Camara gets a basket, and then we get a fastbreak off a Tate steal that ends with a great Rack dunk. Tied at 69!

Our crowd is going crazy, but Esterkamp quiets them down for a few seconds before Tate finds Rack on a backscreen cut for a quick reverse layup. Tied at 71. 4 minutes left.

We exchange stops before Hanson gets another basket down low. I call timeout and get Shiloh back in with 3 minutes to go. Down 73-71.

Shiloh is fouled hard driving to the hoop with 2 seconds left on the shot clock.. he gets up.. and hits the 1st.. and the 2nd. He was bad today at the line but stepped up in the clutch. Tied at 73.

After we get a stop, Tate drives into the lane.. draws the PF and dishes it to Camara for a dunk! 75-73. 1:32 left.

Rack gets called for a foul on a good trap in the corner. Benton hits the first but misses the 2nd. Shiloh with the board.

At the other end, Shiloh sets up Tate for a wide open 3... and he misses it. Camara with the board though! We reset. 47 seconds left..

24 seconds, Tate sets up Duffy for a dunk.. I think the defender pushed him a bit, but no foul is called and Duffy blows the dunk.

At the other end, Tate is called for a foul with 15 seconds left.

Ward hits the 1st FT to tie it at 75. He makes the 2nd as well.

12 seconds left as we call timeout to set up a play..

We get it to Shiloh early.. he passes to Tate.. they cover quickly. He passes to Duffy who is double teamed.. passes it out to Shiloh.. quick rotation but Shiloh shoots.. and misses. Ball game.

We are upset 76-75. Very disappointing as I was looking forward to possibly hitting #1 in the polls for the 1st time in my career.

Hanson was the player of the game with 16 points, 6 boards, and a block.

Tate with an off night. 6 points, 5 assists, and 3 steals. He shot 2 of 8 from the field and 2 of 5 from the line.

Rack with 16 points and 3 boards. He shot 7 of 15.

Shiloh with 26 points, 7 boards, and 5 assists. He shot 6 of 13, 1 of 3, and 13 of 18 (better than I thought.)

Camara with 10 points and 8 boards.

Duffy with 5 points, 11 boards, and a block. He shot 2 of 10.

Boxley and Munir each had 4 points off the bench.

Well, we didn't fall. We remain #2 in both polls despite the loss.

The top 10 media poll:

1. Georgia Tech 25-2
2. USC 23-3
3. Temple 24-3
4. Pitt 24-4
5. Miami 21-5
6. Stanford 22-6
7. Arizona 22-7
8. Xavier 24-5
9. Saint Joseph's 23-3
10. Mississippi State 21-5

In season recruiting is finished.

Detrick is the only recruit I feel good about.

Our next game is at Oregon which is talented with a 93 roster strength but they are only 14-14 and 5-11 in Pac-10 Play. We win the simulated game 87-85. Balanced scoring has all 5 of our starters in double digits. Tate led the team with 16 points and 4 assists. Duffy with 15 points, 9 boards, and 3 blocks this game. Shiloh with 13 points, 6 boards, and 3 assists. Shiloh suffered a minor ankle injury in the game and will be DtD for 2-3 weeks. Hopefully, he'll be 100% by the time we being the NCAA Tourney.

Our last regular season game of the year is at #12 Washington. They are 20-7 (10-7) with a 94 roster strength which is equal to ours. They have an extremely balanced starting 5:

JR PG Sean Dennis is 6'2 178 and is rated 87 overall. He is a bit slow for an elite guard, but he is a tremendous player in every other way. He is averaging 8 ppg and 5 apg. He was the 12th player overall in his class. He is from Seattle, WA.

JR SG Adam Goodson is 6'4 210 and he is rated 87 overall. He is a very good player in every area with his only weakness being his stamina. He is averaging 10.6 ppg, 4 rpg, and 2 apg. He was the 9th player in his class. He is from Livermore, CA.

SR SF Micheal Conner is 6'5 219 and he is rated 84 overall. He is a bit weak at dunking but is good in every area other area. He was the 129th player in his class. He is averaging 7 ppg, 4 rpg, and 1 spg. He is from Seattle.

SR PF Reynold Juan Barea is 6'9 210 and is rated 85 overall. He is a very good interior player and has range to about 12 feet. He has superior athleticism. He is averaging 13 ppg, 4 rpg, and 1 bpg. He was the 202nd player overall and is from Beaverton, Oregon.

SR C Mathew Matela is 6'11 249 and is rated 87 overall. He is an elite inside scorer who is also an elite rebounder. He is averaging 21.6 ppg, 8.9 rpg, and 1 bpg. He was the 4th best center in his class. He is from Seattle, WA as well.

The bench is led by SO PG Omar Davidson who is from Vancouver. He is 6'2 180 and is rated 86 overall. He was the #2 player in his class. He is a tremendous ball handler with elite passing ability.

FR PF Theo Adams is 6'7 208 and is rated 84 overall. He is from Redwood City, CA. He was the #6 player in last year's class. He is a great shot blocker and overall a very good defender. HE is averaging 6 ppg, 6 rpg, and 1 bpg in 15 mpg.

SO SF Devonne Barber is 6'8 225 and is rated 81 overall. He is from Merced, CA. He was the 54th player in his class. He has superior speed for his size and position. He is averaging 3 ppg.

SO Zack Kole is 7'2 276 and is rated 80 overall. He is slow but when in position he is a very good shot blocker and a dominating rebounder. He is averaging 2.5 ppg, 2.3 rpg, and 0.4 bpg in 7 mpg.

The rest of the bench is in the high 70's.

We beat Washington at our place 102-74 earlier in the year.

16:43: Rack picks up his 2nd foul. We are tied at 9. Shiloh is definitely slower today due to his ankle injury. We bring in Munir.

16:12: Shiloh is just too slow on that ankle to keep up with Conner. He picks up his 2nd foul. Blizzard comes into the game. It is going to be up to Tate and Duffy to have special games.

15 minute mark: Duffy picks up a 2nd on Matela. Tied at 12.

12 minute mark: Blizzard with 2 fouls but he is remaining in the game for now. Tied at 15.

10:30: Tate and Camara get a breather. We are tied at 17.

6 minute mark: Duffy picks up a 2nd foul. He is extremely tired so I sit him. I bring back Rack and Shiloh, hoping they don't get a 3rd foul. Down 27-21.

4:33: Shiloh picks up his 3rd foul and I decide to sit him. Tran will get the chance to play some SF since Blizzard is very tired still. Down 32-24.

4 minute mark: Tate and Camara return to the game. Down 35-24.

Sheesh. Kole just hit a 3. He has 7 points so far. Down 40-26.

Tate helps us close it to 9, but they get a buzzer beater 3 from Goodson to make it a 12 point lead.

Halftime: Down 48-36.

Our top 3: Rack (10), Duffy (9), and Tate (8.)

Their top 3: Conner (8), Matela (8), and Kole (7.)

I'm going with all of our starters in the 2nd half and hoping that Shiloh doesn't pick up a quick 4th.

Shiloh with a brilliant 6 minutes, until he picks up his 4th foul. However, thanks to his play we are now up 58-56. He set guys up for some easy baskets. I bring in Blizzard and hope we can keep this momentum going..

Blizzard with a 1-on-1 breakway, he tries a crossover like Shiloh would do, and fumbles it away.

13:33: Rack picks up his 3rd foul.

12:44: Duffy picks up his 3rd foul. We are up 62-56, but our 10-0 run just game to an end as they hit a pair of FT's.

11:37: Rack, who has been our leading scorer this game/half, picks up his 4th foul on a block attempt.

10 minute mark: Up 71-60, I rest Rack and Camara.

9:20: Tate hits his 2nd 3 in a row. 74-62.

5 minute mark: Brilliant last 10 minutes from Tate. I let him finally get a breather along with Duffy. We bring back Rack, Shiloh, and Camara. Up 79-66.

3 minute mark: Up 84-70.

1:45: A turnover by Faulkner allows them to get a fast break dunk. 84-74. I bring back Tate and Duffy.

20 seconds left: They have closed the gap to 5. 84-79.

We win the game 85-79. I never thought that would happen with the big deficit early and all of the guys in foul trouble.

Tate was the player of the game with 17 points, 10 assists, 5 steals (key to our comeback), and 2 boards. He had 3 turnovers. He shot 4 of 12, 2 of 6, and 7 of 10.

Rack with 23 points, 3 boards, 2 assists, and 1 steal. He shot 8 of 14, 4 of 6, and 3 of 4.

Shiloh played only 16 minutes due to his foul trouble but had 4 points, 4 boards, 5 assists, and 2 steals. He shot 1 of 3, 0 of 1, and 2 of 2.

Duffy with 11 points, 12 boards, and 2 blocks.

Camara with 10 points, 5 boards, and a block.

Blizzard led the bench with 6 points. Munir and Tran each had 4.

Will this win be enough to help us get the #1 spot in the polls?

10. Oregon State 12-18 (3-15)

A look at the final ACC Standings:

1. GT 27-2 (14-2)
2. Miami 22-6 (11-5)
3. Wake Forest 22-8 (11-5)
4. Clemson 20-9 (9-7)

7. Maryland 23-8 (8-8)
8. FSU 17-11 (8-8)
9. VT 13-14 (7-9)
10. Duke 17-11 (6-10)
11. NCST 12-17 (5-11)
12. Virginia 9-20 (1-15)

Niagara won the regular season MAAC title with a 23-8 (15-3 record.)

Our first opponent in the Pac-10 Tourney is WSU. They have a roster strengh of 86. Drew Soto, their PG, is their star player. Travon Popoola, their SG, and Robert DeLeon, their PF, are also very good starters. Their SF, Terry Caton, is a weak link that a health Shiloh would demolish.

Thanks. This team really is the perfect balance of size and ratings, not to mention chemistry from playing together. Next year will be rough, so I'm going to enjoy this run for as long as possible. Hopefully, this team can actually win 6 in a row.

We start off slowly missing our first two shots and allowing them to score first, but then our team starts clicking. We force 2 turnovers leading to fastbreak baskets. Then, our half court offense scores via Duffy. Then a pair of 3's. Up 12-2 with 15 minutes to go in the half.

9:52: Up 25-10, I rest Shiloh.

5 minute mark: Camara with the half of his career. We are up 44-16. I let the whole second unit come into the game.

Halftime: We lead 49-25.

Our top 3: Camara (13), Rack (9), Tate (8). Shiloh and Duffy each have 7.

They have 4 players tied with 4 points including Soto and Popoola.

Our starters may play as few as 5 minutes this 2nd half.

14 minute mark: Up 67-38, I rest my starters, hopefully for the rest of the game.

With rare exceptions, we are working the clock down to 5 seconds or less each time. With 7 minutes to go, we are up 76-49.

With 5:22 to go, we empty the end of our bench.

We win the game 81-63.

Tate was the player of the game. In just 21 minutes, he had 14 points, 10 assists, 2 boards, and 1 steal.

Rack with 14 points and 1 board.

Shiloh with 10 points, 2 assists, 2 boards, and 2 steals in 16 minutes.

Duffy with 11 points, 1 board, 3 assists, and 1 block in 21 minutes.

Camara with 13 points, 6 boards, and 4 steals.

Blizzard with 6 off the bench. Faulkner and Didlake each had 5. Walton with 3 points and 5 boards.

Our next game is against Washington after they beat Arizona State 86-67.

If we beat them, we'll face either Stanford or Oregon State who upset Arizona 67-65 to advance. Stanford beat UCLA 77-37 in their game.

Back to playing the best basketball game out there..

16 minute mark: Duffy picks up his 2nd foul. We are tied at 4 as both defenses are playing very hard early.

Over the next 2 minutes, we get our transition game going off 2 steals and get a pair of fouls on their star PF. We are up 10-6.

Over the next 4 minutes, Washington hits 3 3's. They are up 14-12.

With 7 minutes left, we are down 19-18. I bring back all of my starters including Duffy with his 2 fouls. Tate sits down as he has played the first 13 minutes.

Faulkner hits a 3 and a 16 foot jumper within a minute after coming into the game.

Despite having a minor injury, Shiloh takes over the game during the next 3 minutes with 2 steals, 2 assists, and a dunk. Both of his assists were to guys on the fastbreak. 31-23 with 4 minutes to go in the half.

With 3:45 to go, Duffy picks up his 3rd foul.

Halftime: We are up 37-33. Matela had 6 straight points on the inside after Duffy left the game.

Rack is the player of the half with 7 points, 2 boards, and a steal. Most of his points have come from driving inside including 2 fastbreaks.

19:45: Duffy picks up his 4th foul on a loose ball. Walton will get heavy minutes in the 2nd half.

17:50: Rack injures his knee trying to dunk over their point guard on a fastbreak..

16 minute mark: They are overwhelming us with their depth on the inside. Walton and Camara each have 3 fouls now.

12 minute mark: Shiloh and Faulkner are the players keeping us ahead right now. Camara just picked up his 4th foul. We are up 50-46. Rack was just cleared to return and will, but with the knee injury I doubt he'll be very effective. He'll have a very short leash.

8 minute mark: Blizzard hits a big 3 to end their 6-0 run. We are up 53-49. He follows it with a 12 footer.

6:45: Tate picks up his 4th foul. He'll get a rest as he has been playing the entire 2nd half.

4:30: I bring back Shiloh, Camara, and Duffy. We are up 57-55.

Shiloh misses an open 3 and they get a 2 from Conner, their star small forward, at the other end.

After Faulkner misses a jumper, they get the board, but Shiloh steals it from the rebounder. He is fouled as he goes up for a dunk. He hits both FT's. 59-57.

3 minutes left and they call timeout. I bring back Tate to play SG as Rack isn't doing anything. Our lineup is Faulkner, Tate, Shiloh, Camara, and Duffy.

Duffy steals a pass meant for Kole, their star center. He starts a fastbreak, Shiloh finds Faulkner in the corner who drills the 3!

They get a 2 from Conner. We respond with an inside hook from Duffy. 64-59 with 1:30 to go..

They go inside to their PF, Juan Barea, who gets a 5th foul on Camara. We bring in Boxley.

Going for the quick steal, they foul Faulkner who hits both FT's. 66-61.

They miss 2 inside shots before Duffy finally gets the board. They intentionally foul him. He hits both FT's with 45 seconds left.

Shiloh hits 4 FT's as they intentionally foul and we win the game 72-63!

Faulkner, off the bench, is the player of the game with 18 points, 2 assists, and 2 steals. He shot 6 of 7, 2 of 2, and 4 of 4.

Tate with 4 points, 4 assists, and 2 steals on 1 of 7 shooting.

Rack with 7 points, 3 boards, and a steal.

Shiloh with 16 points, 3 boards, 2 assists, and 2 steals. He shot 4 of 10 but 8 of 9 from the line.

Duffy with 6 points, 4 boards, and a block.

Walton with 3 points, 5 boards, and 2 blocks in 24 minutes.

Washington was led by Conner who had 16 points and Matela who had 14 points and 17 boards and drew a ton of fouls on my big men.

We'll play Stanford (25-7, ranked 8th in the media poll) in the Pac-10 Championship Game.

SR PG Charlie Shumate is 6'5 198 and is rated 87 overall. Like Washington's guards, he has the speed to stick in front of Tate. He is averaging 9 ppg, 7.3 apg, 4.3 rpg, and 1.8 spg.

SO SG Antanas Tolic is bothered with Plantar Fascitis (the same injury that is slowing down Shiloh). He is 6'5 220 and is rated 83 overall. He is averaging 4 ppg, 1.3 apg, and 1.3 rpg.

SR SF Randy Doellman is 6'6 231 and is rated 83 overall. He is averaging 6.7 ppg, 4.6 rpg, and 1.5 apg.

10 minute mark: They have hit 3 3's in a row. 22-15.

5 minute mark: Down 30-21, I get Duffy and Shiloh back into the game.

Halftime: Down 41-29. They are crushing us inside. Farrell is leading their team with 10 points.

12 minute mark: We've closed the gap to 51-46. Duffy doing some tough work inside.

9 minute mark: Our starters are mostly exhausted. 55-50. I rest Tate, Rack, and Shiloh.

8 minute mark: Faulkner assists on a 3 to Blizzard and then hits his own 3. We are tied at 56.

2:30: Camara hits an open 3 to pull us within 1. Down 65-64.

23 seconds: Shiloh has missed 2 open shots over the last 2 minutes, but now he has a steal and breakaway.. he goes up for the dunk... and it is blocked from behind by Chancler! Chancler hurts himself on the play...

Tate intentionally fouls as they get the board and he fouls out. They hit both FT's.

14 seconds left: Faulker with an open 3 in the corner.. it rims out, we get the board.. push it up the floor.. looking for an open shot.. Duffy finds Rack in the corner.. he shoots the 3.. and it bounces off the front of the rim. Duffy with the board.. he passes out to Shiloh.. time expires as the shot goes up.. it missed.

We lose the game 67-64. That loss drops us to 27-4.

Tate with 6 points, 4 assists, and 3 steals. He shot 1 of 4.

Rack with 3 points, 2 boards, and 2 assists on 1 of 6 shooting.

We finish the conference tourney with a 27-4 record and a RPI ranking of 2. We were 2nd in last week's polls. Will we get a #1 seed despite the loss to Stanford? Time to find out..

The first thing of note I hear from the announcers is that Niagara finished 23-8 and are on the bubble for a tourney bid.

The top #1 seed is Georgia Tech. They are #1 in the East.

We are the 2nd #1 seed!!! We are in the South.

Pitt is the #1 seed in the Midwest.

Stanford is the #1 seed in the West.

Interesting East Matchups:

#7 Villanova (20-10) vs #10 UNC (17-11 - 7th in the ACC.)

Full South Bracket:

#4 Nevada (25-4) vs #13 Portland State (18-10)

#6 BYU (24-7) vs #11 Texas A&M (21-11)

#3 Arizona (23-8) vs #14 TXAM-CC (17-14)

#7 Arizona State (21-10) vs #10 FSU (17-12)

#2 Miami (FL) (24-7) vs #15 Ball State (19-13)

Interesting Midwest matchups:

#8 Nebraska (20-8) vs #9 Iowa State (22-9)

#5 Wake Forest (23-9) vs #12 Butler (21-7)

#7 Memphis (21-9) vs #10 Wisconsin (22-11)

Interesting West Matchups:

#8 Maryland (23-9) vs #9 DePaul (20-11)

#6 UConn (23-10) vs #11 Missouri (21-11)

Niagara didn't make it in.

The Pac-10 has 5 teams in the tourney. The ACC and Big East each had 7. The Big 12 has 6 teams. The SEC has 5 teams.

We are expected to completely blow out Furman who is ranked 24 points worse than us in overall talent. I decide to take a chance and sim the game..

Despite still being injured, Shiloh leads the team with 22 points as we win the game 87-67.

Other stars were Tate with 16 points and 5 assists and Duffy with 14 points and 7 boards. I'll be leaning on this 3 some the rest of the tourney.

We had 5 guys off the bench with 6 or more points: Faulkner, Blizzard, Munir, Boxley, and Didlake who only plays in blowouts.

As I prepare for the next opponent, Shiloh lets me know that he finally feels 100%.

Our next opponent is Clemson! They beat Fresno State 78-51. Before I take a look at them, here is a look at the rest of our bracket:

#5 Louisville was upset by Denver 76-70.

Nevada pounded Portalnad State 85-43.

BYU was upset by Texas A&M 72-70.

Arizona demolished TXAM-CC 106-56.

Arizona State beat FSU 96-87.

Miami beat Ball State 92-60.

A preview of Clemson:

They are 10 points below us in overall team rating at an 84. They are a guard heavy team with 4 of their top 6 players being guards. They are weak at center and PF. Their starting 5:

JR PG Paco Williamson is their best player. The 5'9 181 pound guard from Chattanooga, TN is a dangerous 3 point shooter. He is rated 83 overall. He is averaging 15 ppg mostly from outside the arc. He also averages 5 assists per game. He has excellent speed and should be able to stay in front of Tate.

SR SF Garland Malone is from Kettering, OH. He is a 6'8 215 pound athlete with great athleticism. He is a tremendous finishers around the rim. He is weak defensively. He is rated 82 overall. He is averaging 14 ppg and 5 rpg. Shiloh and he should have a great matchup.

JR G Brandyn Nelke is a 6'2 182 pound player from Indianapolis, IN. He is a very good outside shooter and is a generally solid in most areas. He is averaging 12 ppg, 4 rpg, and 3 apg.

JR PF Carter Clifford is a 6'7 209 pound player from Atlanta. He is a bit slow and is easily pushed around on the inside. He is a good outside shooter. He is rated 72 overall. He is averaging 7 ppg and 4 rpg.

JR F Clint Rohde has been playing center for them. He is 6'8 231 and is from Dayton, OH. He is rated 67 overall. He is averaging 2 ppg and 3 rpg. He doesn't play a lot of minutes as they frequently go small.

JR PG Harold Monroe leads the bench. He is a 6'2 192 pound player from Atlanta. He is a decent shooter who relies on his athleticism to create opportunities. He is averaging 6 ppg. He is rated 77 overall.

SR SG J.W. Sorenson is 6'5 227. He is from Chattanooga, TN. He is rated 76 overall and is primarily a 3 point specialist. He is averaging 9 ppg.

Most of the rest of the bench is rated in the high 60's.

Son of a gun. Shiloh re-injured himself in practice the other day (injury appeared out of no-where.) His plantar fascitis is back and he'll be less than 100% for the next week.

15 minute mark: It's been a very fast paced game as they are the first team in a long time to come out at us with a full court trapping defense. They get 5 quick points off of it, before we start passing over it. We are up 13-11, but Camara just picked up his 2nd foul. I decide to go big and bring in Walton with Duffy sliding to PF.

13 minute mark: Tate has been attacking and pushing the ball up the court all game. He comes rushing on a 2-on-2 breakaway, he spins away from the center, lays it up, is fouled hard and is down on the ground clutching his knee. Faulkner comes into the game. Rack will take the FT's.

9:30: Shiloh has taken over the game. After hitting 2 3's, he has been driving inside with relative ease. Our big men are drawing fouls and all of their interior defenders have 2 fouls. We are up 27-18. Shiloh gets a breather.

8 minute mark: Tate has been cleared to return, but I'm going to try to rest his sprained knee. We are up 32-20.

4 minute mark: Walton is having the half of his life against their shrimps. He has 4 blocks which have all been igniting our fast break. We are up 44-22. Duffy finally gets a few minutes to rest up. Ditto for Rack.

They mount a run against our backups, but we go into half with a comfortable lead.

Halftime: 49-32, we lead.

Shiloh is the player of the half despite resting for about 10 minutes of it. He leads our team with 11 points, 2 boards, 1 assist, and 1 steal. He has shot 4 of 6 so far.

I decide to go with all of the starters including Tate to start the 2nd half.

12 minute mark: Our offense has gone ice cold, but our team defense is playing better than they have all year. Everyone is hustling and getting blocks this game. We are up 57-40. I pull Tate for the rest of the game and give Duffy a few minutes of rest.

8 minute mark: We pulled Shiloh for a rest 2 minutes ago and are now slowing it down. 61-45 lead.

3:45: They close within 11, so I get all of my starters back except for Tate who is clearly slowed by his injury. I leave Walton in at center as well with Duffy playing PF.

Our guys finish it off in style. 70-55 win

Shiloh is the player of the game with 19 points, 5 boards, 2 assists, 2 blocks, and 2 steals.

Tate with 3 points and 2 assists on 1 of 4 shooting.

Rack with 17 points, 4 boards, 2 assists, and 2 steals. He shot 5 of 11, 3 of 6, and 4 of 7.

Duffy with 14 points, 8 boards, 3 assists, 3 steals, and 4 blocks. He shot 6 of 14.

Walton led the bench. In 25 minutes, he had 4 points, 6 boards, 3 assists, 1 steal, and 5 blocks!

A look at the Sweet 16:

In the South:

#1 USC vs #4 Nevada (who beat Denver 82-64 in their last game.)

#2 Miami (FL) vs #3 Arizona

In the Midwest:

#4 Iowa vs #9 Iowa State (who upset #1 Pitt 69-68)

#2 West Virginia vs #2 Xavier

In the East:

#1 Georgia Tech vs #5 Washington
#3 Mississippi State vs #10 UNC (who beat San Diego State 98-74)

In the West:

#1 Stanford vs #4 Tennessee

#2 Temple vs #6 UConn

A preview of Nevada:

They are a very talented mid-major team with an overall roster strength of 90. They play a very fast tempo that features their superstar SG and star PF. They are averaging 90 ppg (we are averaging 82 ppg.) They have a deep front court, but they are lacking size.

SR SG Corey Doyle is from Sacramento, CA. He is a 6'6 244 pound guard who is rated 88 overall. He really has no weaknesses to his game, but if I had to pick one area where he isn't as good it would be his defense. He is a scoring machine that is averaging 20.4 ppg, 7.8 rpg, and 4.2 apg.

SR "PF" Dominic Warren is from Davis, CA. He is a 6'6 213 pound player who is rated 86 overall. Despite his size, he has a great repertoire of post moves as well as being a skilled outside shooter. He is incredibly fast for a "PF." He is averaging 21.4 ppg, 6 rpg, and 1 apg.

SR SF Josh Karis is 6'6 208 and is a defensive specialist. He is rated 82 overall. He is from Fresno, CA. Despite defense being his primary skill set, he is averaging 8 ppg and 6 rpg. He is also averaging 1.4 bpg.

JR PG Clayton Fischer is 5'10 169 and is from Santa Cruz, CA. He is rated 81 overall. He is a good ball handler and passer and a very good outside shooter when he has room. He is averaging 7.4 ppg and 4.2 apg.

RS JR F Luol Larmond plays center for the team. He is a 6'9 222 pound player from Santa Rosa, CA. He is rated 78 overall. He is a good shot blocker and has good quickness for his size which he relies on to score. He is averaging 11 ppg, 6 rpg, and 2 bpg.

SR SG Pierce Power leads the bench. He is a 6'6 214 pound guard who is rated 78 overall. He is a good post up player who is averaging 6 ppg.

SR PF Yakhouba MA is their main interior player off the bench. He is 6'9 240 and is a strong rebounder. He is averaging 8 ppg, 6 rpg, and 0.4 bpg. He is rated 76 overall.

The rest of the bench is rated in the low 70's.

Tate has a sprained knee, but he will start. Shiloh is now 100% for this game!

15 minute mark: Shiloh hit the first shot of the game, a three, and he has been hot ever since. He's got 7 points and 2 assists already as we are up 15-4.

11 minute mark: Our starters are tiring. Up 19-11. I rest Tate, Shiloh, and Duffy.

5:30: Defense has completely dominated the last 5-6 minutes. We are up 21-13. I rest Camara and Rack. I bring back Tate, Shiloh, and Duffy.

2:40: Shiloh does what I haven't seen for a few weeks, spins away from his man, beats another man to the baseline, and throws down a monsterous dunk. We lead 30-15.

Halftime: We are up 32-21. Our defense is golden right now. Shiloh is all over his man. Rack is controlling their star SG very well.

Shiloh is the player of the half with 9 points, 4 assists, 1 board, 1 steal, and 1 block.

Wow. First 3 minutes of the 2nd half, they are dominating us. Shiloh has missed a pair of 3's. They have hit a 3, an alley-oop dunk, and another 3. 32-29.

Duffy finally responds with a hook in the paint, and then an open 3 set up by a Shiloh drive and kick out. 37-29.

Next play, Shiloh steals it and alley-oops to Duffy!

Warren dunks over Duffy in response. He gets the 2 and the foul. Warren now has 14 points. 39-32.

Duffy gets a 2nd and 3rd foul on Warren who leaves the game.

11 minute mark: For the last 4 minutes, we've run and gunned which has favored Nevada slightly. 49-43, we lead. I rest Shiloh and Duffy.

They pull within 3 before Blizzard hits an open 3 on a beautiful pass from Tate. 53-47.

5 minute mark: Tate has hit a pair of 3's and had a block. We are up 63-53 as I rest Tate and Camara. Shiloh and Duffy come back into the game. Rack is going to go the distance.

Faulkner with 2 turnovers allows them to get within 4, before Duffy draws a foul inside. He hits both FT's. 65-59.

3 minutes: Duffy picks up his 4th foul on a nice move by Larmond who misses the first but hits the 2nd FT.

They steal it from Rack. Walton hustles back and gets a foul on the guy rather than give up the uncontested dunk. They miss both FT's! Walton gets the board!

Shiloh beats his man off the dribble and dunks it. 67-60 with 1:55 to go.

Doyle with a quick 3 in response. He has 13 points.

Duffy with a basket down low. 69-63 with 48 seconds left.

Warren draws a quick foul down low. He hits both FT's. 69-65. I get Tate back in for ball handling in the last minute.

Tate misses the intentional FT and then his man beats him for a drive into the lane that draws a foul. Fischer misses the first FT.. and he misses the 2nd! Duffy with the board! He is fouled. Duffy hits both FT's.

Doyle misses a quick 3 as Rack is right there on him.. Shiloh gets the board. He makes both FT's. 73-65 with 20 seconds left.

We finish it out. 74-67 win.

Duffy was the player of the game with a monster 2nd half. 28 points, 9 boards, 3 assists, 1 steal, and 2 blocks. He shot 11 of 15, 1 of 2, and 5 of 5.

Tate with 9 points and 4 assists.

Rack with 9 points and 4 assists as well as stellar defense. He held their star SG to 5 of 16 shooting.

Shiloh with 15 points, 7 boards, 7 assists, 3 steals, and a block. He shot 5 of 11 for the game.

Walton with 4 points, 8 boards, and a block in 22 minutes off the bench.

Camara with 4 points, 7 boards, and 3 blocks in 28 minutes.

The Elite 8:

#1 USC vs #3 Arizona who beat #2 Miami (FL) 76-67.

#3 Xavier (beat West Virginia 91-71) vs #4 Iowa (beat Iowa State 84-61.)

#1 Georgia Tech (beat Washington 100-86) vs #3 Mississippi State (beat UNC 63-61.)

#1 Stanford (beat Tennessee 81-75) vs #6 UConn (beat Temple 84-77.)

I won't play the next game until later in the week, but a quick reminder of what Arizona brings to the table. They are tied with us in overall roster strength at a 94. They have a terrific coach in Mark Few from Gonzaga. They went 26-8 this year and averaged 81 ppg. Their RPI was 6.

They have 2 bonafide superstars like I do and a few other star quality players. They are the most balanced team we've faced in this tourney. They have size as well as skill. Their starting 5:

SR PG Dave Fox is arguably the best player in the Pac-10. Shiloh is the only one who is ranked as highly that is still playing in this tourney. He is a 5'10 177 pound player from Glendale, AZ. He is rated 91 overall. He is a fromer Mr. Basketball, Arizona. He is expected to be a top 5 pick in the draft. He is the fastest guard in college basketball and has better quickness and speed than Tate. He is a tremendous passer and an excellent shooter. His only relative weakness is his FT shooting and his perimeter defense. He is averaging 14 ppg, 5 apg, 3 rpg, and 1.5 spg.

SR G Brett Archie is 6'3 202. He is from Chandler, AZ. He is rated 88 overall. He is expected to be a 1st round pick in the draft. He is the best 3 point shooter left in the tourney. He has tremendous speed and he is a shut down defender. His weaknesses are his mid range shooting and his stamina. He is averaging 15 ppg, 3 rpg, 3 apg, and 1.5 spg.

JR SF JonPaul Towe is a 6'6 217 pound player from Hemet, CA. He is rated 87 overall. He is projected to be drafted in the lottery if he goes pro. He has tremendous athleticism and is arguably the fastest SF left in the tourney and is definitely the best dunker. His weaknesses are his defense and his consistency. He is averaging 12 ppg, 4 rpg, 2 apg, 1.4 spg, and 1.4 bpg.

JR PF Antwi Mance is a 6'8 235 pound player from Phoenix, AZ. He is rated 83 overall. He is a very good mid range shooter and 3 point shooter for a big man. He has excellent athleticism for his size. His weaknesses are his defense and stamina. He is averaging 9 ppg, 4 rpg, and 1.7 bpg.

SO C Roger Clifford has taken over as the starting center. He is a 6'10 240 pound player from Mesa, CA. He is a shot blocking specialist. He is rated 80 overall. He is averaging 3 ppg, 2 rpg, and 2 bpg.

The top players off the bench are:

JR PG Stephan Hinrich. He is 6'2 211 from Phoenix, AZ. He is rated 86 overall. He is averaging 6.6 ppg, 3.4 rpg, and 3.1 apg.

SR SF Jadee Fletcher is a 6'7 217 pound player from Las Vegas, NV. He is a good outside shooter. He is rated 84 overall. He is averaging 8.6 ppg, 3.4 rpg, and 0.9 bpg.

JR SG Joshua Hendry is a 6'7 218 pound SG from Pomona, CA. He is rated 83 overall. He has great athleticism and is a very good shooter. He is averaging 14 ppg and 4 rpg.

SR C Dedric Green is now coming off the bench. He is still getting 20 mpg. He is also a very good shot blocker. He is 6'11 254 and is rated 79 overall. He is averaging 4.2 ppg, 2.2 rpg, and 1 bpg.

The rest of the bench is in the mid 60's.

14 minute mark: Camara picks up his 2nd foul. Shiloh is leading our team with 7 points early. He's doing a great job of posting his man up. We are up 11-6. Walton comes in for Camara.

12 minute mark: Shiloh is exhausted. I bring in Blizzard. We are up 13-11.

10 minute mark: Nance with an offensive board, the basket, and the foul. They are up 16-15.

8:45 - All of my starters are tired. We go to our entire 2nd unit for a short period. We are down 18-17.

7 minute mark - Faulkner hits a 3 to tie it at 20.

6:30 - Shiloh comes back into the game.

4:20 - Shiloh with a block and dunk at the other end. 22-20, we lead.

3:30 - I bring back all of the starters. We are up 24-22.

2:10 - They get a steal off Tate which leads to a fastbreak 3 by Fletcher. 27-24, they lead.

1:50 - Duffy draws a 2nd foul on Clifford. He makes both FT's.

0:45 - Shiloh sets up Rack for an open 3 in the corner which he drills. Tied at 29.

With 5 seconds left, we pass it up the court and Shiloh hits a 3 at the buzzer! That gives us a 32-31 lead at the half.

Halftime: We lead 32-31.

Shiloh is the player of the half with 12 points, 3 boards, 3 assists, and a block.

Fletcher is torching him though. He has 9, all in the last 4 minutes of the half.

15:30 - Both offenses are really heating up now. Duffy is doing most of our damage in the post. They are scoring from everyone. Towe just dunked over Shiloh, made the basket, and the FT. They are up 45-40.

Shiloh responds by posting him up and dropping a hook shot over him.

Towe responds by hitting a 16 footer over Shiloh.

Shiloh misses a 3 at the other end.

12:30 - Clifford with a block and Mance with a dunk over Camara at the other end and the foul. They are up 53-45. I rest Shiloh and Duffy.

Fox hits a 3 to push their lead to 11, but Camara responds with a nice post move. He gets the basket and the foul.

9:30 - I was starting to get a bit dejected as they pushed the lead back to 10, but Tate with a 3, Tate with a steal that leads to an alley-oop by Rack, and then Rack with a steal and breakaway dunk has us back in it! 58-55.

Fox misses a 3, we push the ball and Tate finds Walton for an easy dunk. Mance responds with a beautiful double post move for the basket.

The game is being played at a frenetic pace. Fox with a beautiful drive into the lane and finds Archie for a 3. Those 2 are absolutely killing us. Fox steals it from Tate and finds Archie for another 3.

7:30 - I rest Tate who is still slowed by his injury. I get Duffy and Shiloh back into the game. We are down 66-59.

Shiloh hits a 3, Faulkner steals it, and finds Shiloh for another quick 3! Then on the next possession, Rack blocks a shot forcing a shot clock violation!

5:30 - Shiloh hits a FT to tie it at 66.

4:00 - Both defenses are clamped down. Still tied at 66. Tate comes back into the game.

3:30 - Fletcher hits a 2 over Shiloh. Shiloh is really tiring.

2:30 - Fletcher hits another 14 footer over Shiloh. Down 70-66.

After missing shots on the outside by Tate and Shiloh, we go inside. Tate finds Walton for an easy dunk. 70-68.

Walton who I've left in over Camara, gets a beautiful block. At the other end, Duffy gets double teamed, passes it out to Shiloh for an open 3.. and he misses it. Duffy gets called for a loose ball foul on the rebound attempt. They are in the penalty. Fox hits both FT's. Down 72-68 with 1:40 to go.

Duffy misses a shot in the low post. Towe at the other end with a 3!

Shiloh gets fouled and makes 1 of 2. With 44 seconds left, we have to foul. Fox makes both FT's. Tate misses a quick 3.

It's all over. We are missing our shots and they are hitting their FT's. We lose the game 80-69.

This is a crushing loss. I really thought this team had everything we needed to win it all - 3 stars (2 of who are superstars), 2 very good starters, a decent bench. Arizona was just too balanced for us.

Shiloh led our team with 24 points, 5 boards, 4 assists, and 1 block. He shot 8 of 16, 2 of 4, and 6 of 10.

Tate with 5 points and 4 assists on 2 of 8 shooting.

Rack with 11 points, 3 assists, 2 steals, and a block. He shot 4 of 10.

Duffy with 11 points, 4 boards, and 2 blocks. He shot 4 of 14 as they had too much size and athleticism down low for him.

Camara with 7 points and 3 boards.

Walton led the bench with 6 points, 8 boards, and 2 blocks in 22 minutes.

In retrospect, our bench didn't do nearly enough and wasn't nearly good enough in the tourney.

Arizona's bench crushed us... then again, their starters did a number on us too.

Fox with 11 points and 10 assists.

Archie with 19 points and 2 boards.

Towe with 16 points and 2 steals.

Mance with 13 points, 11 boads, and 2 blocks.

Clifford with 2 points, 9 boards, and 2 blocks.

Fletcher led the bench with 12.

Green had 8 points off the bench as well as 2 blocks.

The Final 4:

Arizona vs Xavier which is even more heartbreaking, I know I would have had a very good shot against Xavier. Xavier beat Iowa 68-66.

Georgia Tech beat Mississippi State 99-62 to advance.

They will play UConn who upset Stanford 76-67.

In the Final 4:

Wow. Xavier upset Arizona 88-79.

Georgia Tech beat UConn 84-62.

In the National Championship Game:

Xavier upset Georgia Tech 81-69!

I guess I underestimated Xavier. In the final game, they had 4 guys with at least 13 points including their star SG who scored 19 points. He also had 8 boards, and 5 assists.

Xavier finished the year 34-6 (12-4) in the Atlantic Ten.

Major Awards:

SR C Mathew Matela of Washington won Player of the Year. He finished with 21.4 ppg and 7.9 rpg.

SR C Antanas DeBerry, Northwestern won Mid-Major Player of the Year. He finsiehd with 23 ppg and 11.9 rpg.

Paul Hewitt of Georgia Tech won Coach of the Year.

Matela won Big Man of the Year.

PG Laurie White, Georgia Tech, won Freshman of the Year. He averaging 11 ppg, 3.4 rpg, and 2.5 apg.

My old player Henry Goodman, Wake Forest, was named 1st team All-American SF. He averaged 22.6 ppg, 5.5 rpg.

The rest of the 1st team:

SR PG Roland Watts, Baylor 21.1 ppg, 4.4 rpg, 3.6 apg.

SR SG Theo Gale, ND 20.3 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 2.3 apg.

SR PF Robby Ray, Depaul, 20.3 ppg, 8 rpg.

Matela was the Center on the team.

Shiloh made 2nd team All-American. He finished with 17.4 ppg, 4.9 rpg, and 4 apg.

I was named Pac-10 Coach of the Year.

Shiloh was named to the Pac-10 1st Team.

The rest of the team:

JR PG Charlie Shumate, Stanford, 8.6 ppg, 7.4 apg.

SR SG J.R. Dahl, UCLA, 13.5 ppg, 3 rpg, 3 apg.

SR PF Aleksander Chancler, Stanford, 16.9 ppg, 5.6 rpg.

We just lost a lot of talent:

Shiloh is going to the NBA. He is expected to be a 1st round pick.

Duffy was also expected to be a 1st round pick.

Tate, Rack, and Faulkner aren't expected to be drafted but they all graduated.

Interesting News from the Coaching Carousel:

Oregon's coach retired. They hired Auburn's old coach who had been fired from there a few years ago.

North Carolina State fired their coach and hired Paul Crisp from SF.

Virginia fired their coach and hired Ball State's Coach.

Minnesota fired their coach and hired a coach from the Sun Belt.

Wow. We didn't have any transfers, but apparently guys don't like the new Wake Forest Coach. 3 of their top returning players all left the program.

Time to re-load. Back to recruiting. Hopefully, we can get some of our top targets right away in the late signing period..

We lost out on 2 of our top targets to Oregon and Texas. However, we did get JC FR PG Steffan Detrick. Our staff believes he has A+ potential. They think he has a great outside shot and good ball handling ability. He is 6'1 176 and is from the Bronx, NY.

Despite signing him, I offer a scholarship to Acie Boyden who is an All-American PG from Schaumburg, IL. He is ranked 19th overall and 8th among PG's. He is 5'10 158. He is a 5 star player.

I also offer Brady Mendoza from Rancho Cucamonga, CA. He is ranked 48th overall and 7th among SF's. He is a 4 star player who is 6'7 232.

Acie Boyden turns us down in favor of Georgia Tech. I hate their coach.

Mendoza always wanted to come to USC, so he jumps at the opportunity with the scholarship offer. He averaged 12.4 ppg, 10.8 rpg, 4.4 apg, and 1.8 spg in the ABL. He shot 47% overall and 33% from the arc. He is graded out at B+ potential by our staff.

I move onto our last plan at PG. Zakee Carson from Cincinnati, Ohio. He is a Mr. Basketball in Ohio. He is a 6'4 184 pound PG who averaged 11.1 ppg and 4.3 apg in the ABL. He is reportedly a good shooter who is a shut down defender.

SOB!!! Zakee Carson went to Georgia Tech too! How many freaking PG's do they need? They came into the picture late and swept him away from us.

I'm going to save this scholarship for next year as I don't see anyone else who is still out there who I think is good enough to crack our rotation.

Our AD suggests an easy OOC schedule. Considering this is a reloading year (most likely), I have no problems with his suggestions.

First look at our roster in Spring ball:

Detrick is a disappointment early. That means sophomore Armond Didlake will be the starter by default. I'm not impressed with his game, but he has improved a lot in the last year.

SO PG Armond Didlake is 6'1 180. He is rated 77 overall. He has good athleticism and is a decent outside shooter. However, he is a big drop off in ball handling, passing, and defense compared to Tate. His defense could be a liability.

SO PG Steffan Detrick is now 6'1 176. He is rated 73 overall. His biggest asset is his 3 point shooting. In fact, he is clearly the best 3 point shooter on the team. Due to his potential and his outside shooting, he'll get playing time, but his defense is definitely a liability.

No other PG's worth mentioning on the roster.

At SG, the news is MUCH better Calvin McCurry comes in as possibly my most talented freshman ever! He is now 6'4 227. He is rated 79 overall. His outside shot is lacking, but he is a good slasher and finisher. He also has quick hands, but tends to gamble and get beat defensively. He is a great hustle player though. Our staff is concerned that he may be close to his ceiling. He is the clear starter.

SR SG Stan Munir continues to improve and will be a reliable backup. He is 6'6 205 and is rated 77 overall. He doesn't really excel in any area.

At SF, we have some good talent.

Brady Mendoza is as impressive as I hoped. At 6'7 239, he cuts an imposing figure on the floor. He is rated 77 overall. He is another great hustle player which I like, but his defense is also a liability. Offensively, he is going to be a solid option right away, I believe. Our staff thinks he might be close to his ceiling as well.

SO SF JonPaul Blizzard is going to make it hard for him to see the floor. The sophomore has really worked on his game this offseason and has improved significantly. He is 6'7 233 and is rated 81 overall. His defense has really improved and his offense is coming around.

FR SF Kareem Humphrey is the odd man out, but his 3 point shooting makes him likely to get playing time in the future. With this being a rebuilding year, I may redshirt him. He is clearly the 2nd best outside shooter on the team, but his defense is a mess and he is too weak.

At PF, we are very undersized, but we have our most talent:

PF Rashid Camara has really developed his game this offseason. He is now 6'8 212 and is rated 87 overall. He is a very good 3 point and midrange shooter for a Forward and he has some good post moves, but he tends to get pushed around. Defensively, he is just average. He'll be our lone returning starter.

SO PF Robin Boxley will get more playing time this year despite being undersized. He is 6'6 205 and is rated 83 overall. Despite his stature, he is the best shot blocker on our team with impeccable timing. He is also a good midrange shooter.

SR PF Augustinas Tran is 6'7 185 and won't play much unless the other guys get hurt. He is rated 76 overall.

FR C Willis Enzweiler is the clear starter despite Walton's nice play off the bench last year. Enzweiler is 6'8 270 now and he is rated 77 overall. He is athletic for his size and is a good post defender right now as well as a good shot blocker. His offense is going to take time to come around.

SR C Marshall Walton is 6'11 236 and will be our primary big man off the bench. He is rated 74 and is mainly good at shot blocking and rebounding. His offense is very suspect. He averaged 2.6 ppg in 21 mpg last year.

SR Walkon C Howard Morrison is 6'9 256 and is rated 68 overall. He'll only play if the other guys get hurt.

A look at our early targets:

C Percy Moye is a 7'0 223 pound kid from San Diego, CA. He is a 4 star center who is ranked 98th overall and 2nd among centers. He averaged 10.4 ppg, 5.3 rpg, and 1.3 bpg in the ABL. He shot 50% from the floor. He is a bit slow, but has good defensive skills. We are reportedly at the top of his list. Other schools in consideration: UNLV, UCLA, ASU, and SDSU.

JC SO PF Wilson Valencia. I normally wouldn't want a guy for just 2 years, but this kid is special according to our staff. He is a 5 star JC player who is 6'8 222 and has tremendous athleticism combined with a very good outside shot. He is from Fayetteville, AR. So far, we are 1st on his list, but LSU is closing fast. Other schools on his list are Baylor, Oklahoma State, and Kansas.

Isaiah Jimenez is an All-American SG from Memphis, TN. He is 6'4 203. We don't know a lot about him yet, but we are learning quickly. He favors FSU, but we are in his top 3 along with Tennessee. He is a 5 star player who is ranked 25th overall.

Russ Grimes is another All-American SG who is a bit closer to our campus in Seattle, WA. He is ranked 9th overall. He averaged 12 ppg in the ABL and is a great slashing guard. We are a longshot for him as he strongly favors Oregon and Washington. We are 3rd on his list.

SR PG Chauncey Songondo is on our radar due to a nice combination of size (6'3 200) and excellent outside shooting. In fact, our scouts think he is the best shooter in California. He is from Anaheim, CA which should give us an advantage. His top 5 are all pretty even: Stanford, Arizona, USC, Pepperdine, and UCLA.

We now get to prepare for our first game which is against Eastern Washington. They have an overall roster strength of 79. Our roster strength is 88. They have a star at SG in Marquise Koger who is a senior. Last year he averaged 13 ppg. He is rated 84 overall. Their center, Marty Low, is 6'9 275 and is rated 80 overall. The rest of their roster is rated in the low-mid 60's.

My big screen TV's bulb died this morning while I was playing the first game of the season. I'm kicking myself for not ordering a replacement bulb a month ago like I planned on, but I kept procrastinating. I could move the 360 I suppose, but that is a major PITA with how I have it set up in the entertainment center. So, no updates this weekend despite having the itch to play. Then again, the game wasn't going well.. it could be a long season.

Did just get some good news. Sony has updated my order and the bulb is estimated to ship out today, so I imagine I'll get it on Monday. Hopefully, it fixes the TV (I'm fairly sure it will as the bulb warning light was blinking after the screen went blank.)

This looks like it is going to be a long year as our team unity dropped from 90 to 28..

15 minute mark: We are down 11-4. Terrible execution at both ends of the court.

12 minute mark: Enzweiler and Camara have both picked up 2 fouls and leave the game. I also bring in Detrick for a tired Didlake and Mendoza for a very tired Blizzard. McCurry better start doing something soon or he'll be sitting for a while too.. Down 18-9.

10 minute mark: McCurry is getting absolutely torched by Koger. At least, he finally hit a nice shot as he buried a corner 3. Down 25-13. Time to get Munir and his defense in at SG. All 2nd unit now.

3:45 - Nice run by the 2nd unit, but they are mostly tired now. Didlake, McCurry, Blizzard, and Camara come back into the game. Down 33-26. Our home crowd is back into the game a bit. Mendoza showed some great offensive flashes during that stretch.

Halftime: We are down 35-32. Good comeback after that horrid start.

Didlake leads our team in scoring with 10 points. Koger leads the game with 11.

17:30: Enzweiler picks up his 3rd foul. Walton comes back into the game. Down 38-32.

12 minute mark: Down 45-42. Time for the entire 2nd unit to enter the game.

Munir hits an open 3, but they use a pick and roll to get Koger an open 3 in response.

They get a 5 point lead on a pick and roll, before Mendoza hits a 3, then drives for a basket and the foul. He misses the FT, but Boxley gets the offensive board and we reset.

Our next possession, the crowd goes crazy as Mendoza is fouled on a 3 point attempt. He hits 1 of 3 to give us our first lead with 7:40 left. Boxley gets the offensive board again!

5 minutes left: Tied at 52. I'm going with the hottest 5: Didlake, Munir, Mendoza, Camara, and Walton (although he will need a breather soon.)

Mendoza with a great drive, pull up jumper and the foul! He makes the FT. They get a fastbreak and Low dunks on Walton who needs a breather very soon.

Didlake has it stolen and they draw a foul by Walton on a dunk attempt. I bring back Enzweiler with 4:30 to go.

With 4 minutes left, Didlake drives into the lane and gets fouled but misses both FT's. We have some terrible FT shooters on this team.

3:15: Mendoza with a 3! 58-55.

2:30: Didlake finds Mendoza for an elbow jumper!

48 seconds left, Camara with an offensive board and he is fouled. He its both FT's and we are up 62-55. Our defense has clamped down the last 5 minutes after an ugly start.

We finish out the game by hitting most of our FT's as they foul. We win the game 67-57.

Mendoza is the player of the game with 22 points, 2 boards, 1 assist, and 1 steal. He shot 8 of 13, 3 of 4, and 3 of 7 from the line. He played 21 minutes.

I'm going to post the stats of each player's potential replacement by them for easy comparision.

Blizzard had 3 points, 3 boards, and 2 assists in 19 minutes. He shot 1 of 5, 1 of 2, and 0 of 0. He looks better in practice and drills, but if he doesn't improve his game performance, he will not remain a starter for long.

Didlake with 11 points, 3 assists, 3 turnovers, and 1 steal in 25 minutes. He shot 3 of 10, 2 of 6, and 3 of 5.

Detrick with 3 points, 2 assists, and 0 turnovers in 15 minutes. He shot 0 of 2, 0 of 2, and 3 of 3.

McCurry with 3 points, 1 board, 2 assists, and 1 turnover in 21 minutes. He shot 1 of 5, 1 of 3, and 0 of 0.

Munir with 3 points, 1 board, 1 assists, and 1 steal in 19 minutes. He shot 1 of 5, 1 of 3, and 0 of 0 but he played better defense.

Camara with 16 points, 10 boards, and a block. He shot 4 of 5, 2 of 2, and 6 of 6 in 22 minutes. He is the clear starter.

Boxley with 2 points, 4 boards, and a block in 18 minutes. He shot 1 of 4.

Enzweiler only played 15 minutes due to foul trouble. He shot 0 of 2. He had 0 points, 6 boards, and a block.

Walton with 4 points, 7 boards, and 3 assists in 25 minutes. He shot 2 of 5 and was 0 of 2 from the line.

I expected an easier win, but am glad to have escaped with what we got.

Our next game is on the road vs Utah State. They also have an overall roster strength of 79. I'll be simming every other game (unless it gets out of hand and I just decide to risk simming all of the games.)

We win the simulated game 67-62.

Didlake played 25 minutes and had 7 points, 3 assists, and 3 turnovers. He shot 2 of 5.

Detrick with no states in 10 minutes.

McCurry with 11 poiints, 4 assists, 2 boards, and 2 steals in 28 minutes. He shot 4 of 4 from the field.

Munir with 2 points, 2 boards, and 2 assists in 12 minutes.

Blizzard with 3 points, 3 boards, and 1 assist in 26 minutes. His leash is getting very short. He shot 1 of 5.

Mendoza with 10 points, 3 boards, 2 assists, and 2 steals in 22 minutes. He shot 3 of 7 including 2 of 4 from the arc.

Camara with 9 points, 9 boards, and a block. He shot 3 of 8. He played 31 minutes.

Boxley with 12 points and 4 boards in 12 minutes.

Enzweiler with 11 points, 12 boards, and a block in 27 minutes.

Walton with 0 points and 1 board in 8 minutes.

Our next game is hosting New Mexico State. They are 0-2. Their overall roster strength is 76. They have a pair of good big centers, but not much else. Junior Bruce Lindsey is 7'2 240 and is rated 76 overall. Fr James Parkinson is 6'10 242 and is rated 73 overall. The rest of their starters are in the mid 60's. Their bench is all in the 50's.

14 minute mark: McCurry and Blizzard are hitting their shots early. Up 15-8.

10 minute mark: Blizzard finally showing the talent that our staff thought he had. He's had a great 1st half (against an admittedly weak foe.) We are up 26-12 as I turn to my 2nd unit.

3:30 - Up 34-25, I bring back my starters. Mendoza scored almost all of the points during that 6 minute stretch.

Halftime: We lead the game 41-33.

Blizzard and McCurry are the game's leading scorers with 12 each. Blizzard is the player of the half with 12 points, 4 boards, 2 assists, and 1 steal. He has shot 4 of 6.

15 minute mark - Our offense has gone ice cold. 42-39 lead.

14 minute mark - I rest McCurry and Blizzard. Time for Mendoza to get it going again..

With just over 13 minutes to go, they steal it from Mendoza and get a breakaway dunk to take a 46-44 lead.

A minute later, he beats his man with a nice crossover and dunks it to give us a 48-46 lead. He also had 2 boards in the last minute.

9:30 - Since Mendoza is rebounding very well, I decide to try Blizzard and Mendoza together. Our lineup now is Detrick, McCurry, Blizzard, Mendoza, and Enzweiler. We are up 53-47.

5 minute mark - Enzweiler just picked up his 4th foul. I bring in Walton. We are up 57-49.

2:41: Walton goes down hard and his knee is hurt. We are up 61-52. Mendoza is tired so he comes out of the game and we go to Camara and Enzweiler down low.

We win the game 66-52.

Mendoza is the player of the game with 18 points, 6 boards, 1 steal, and 1 block. He shot 8 of 16, 0 of 3, and 2 of 6.

Didlake with 5 points, 8 assists, 1 steal, and 2 turnovers. He shot 1 of 4. He played 24 minutes.

Detrick with 5 points, 1 board, 1 assist, and 3 turnovers. He shot 2 of 4. He played 16 minutes.

McCurry with 15 points, 4 boards, 1 steal, and 2 turnovers. He shot 5 of 12, 4 of 9, and 1 of 2. He played 29 minutes.

Munir with 2 points and 2 boards in 11 minutes.

Blizzard with 14 points, 9 boards, 3 assists, and 2 steals. He shot 4 of 8, 2 of 4, and 4 of 4. He played 29 minutes.

Mendoza played 20 minutes.

Camara with 2 points, 6 boards, 2 assists, and 2 steals. He was stymied inside by their size. He was 0 of 5 from the floor.

Boxley with 0 points and 0 boards in 7 minutes.

Enzweiler with 5 points and a career high 14 boards. He shot 2 of 8. He played 31 minutes.

Walton with 0 points and 1 board in 9 minutes.

Our team doctors don't think Walton is hurt badly at all. He should be fine by our next game.

Our next game is against Colorado State. They are 2-1 and have a decent roster strength of 81.

We lose the game 68-67.

Camara led our team with 17 points, 9 boards, and 3 blocks.

Mendoza shot 2 of 12 and only had 5 points in 23 minutes.

Didlake, McCurry, and Blizzard each had 7. McCurry was 1 of 8 from the floor.

Impatience is getting the best of me slightly, as I'm very anxious to see if the center, Percy Moye, signs with us. Plus this next team is pathetic. I decide to sim it as well. Arkansas Pine Bluff is 0-4. Their roster strength is 55.

We beat them at home 81-51.

Didlake lead us with 18 points and 3 assists. He shot 6 of 10.

McCurry with 11 points.

Mendoza shot 2 of 11 and had 6 points.

Blizzard with 5 points on 2 of 6 shooting.

Didlake and Camara both suffered minor injuries in the game. Didlake has a dislocated finger. Camara has a sprained ankle. Both should be 100% in about 2 weeks.

Our next game (3 games in 3 days) is against another weak team. Sacramento State is 1-3 and has a roster strength of 70. I decide to sim that one as well.

We win the game 91-65, but suffer a blow as Camara has suffered a shoulder injury that will keep him out for 2-3 weeks.

Mendoza led us off the bench with 22 points on 6 of 12 shooting including 3 of 4 from the arc.

Blizzard and McCurry each had 17. I'm going to let Mendoza play PF for us while Camara is our injured. It will weaken our bench some, but I think it'll add some offensive firepower.

We are now 5-1. The early signing period starts in 1 week. We are the strong favorite to get Percy Moye. I can't wait to see the big man sign his LOI. He has been a shot blocking machine so far this year. The only team that is still in contention with us is UNLV. Everyone else was so far back that they have stopped their pursuit.

Our next game is at Oklahoma. They are 3-2. They have a very good roster and will be a challenge. They are rated 86 overall.

Their best players are:

JR PF Daryl Dupre who is 6'11 240 and is rated 81 overall. He is averaging 10 ppg.

JR PF Richard Casey who is 6'9 247 and is rated 81 overall. He is averaging 11 ppg.

SO SG Delbert Parkinson who is 6'4 198. He is averaging 12 ppg and 2.2 spg. He is rated 78 overall. His best attributes are his 3 point and mid range shooting.

SO SF J.J. Erickson who is 6'6 230 and is rated 78 overall. He is averaging 7 ppg. He is a very athletic player.

SO PG Keith Murphy is a pure speedster who is 6'0 198 and is rated 77 overall. He is much faster than either of our PG's. He is averaging 8 ppg and 4 apg.

The bench is solid 4 deep. I'll play that game tomorrow and find out which if any of our targets we get in the early period..

17:27 - McCurry with a fastbreak that draws a 2nd foul on Dupre. We are up 4-2.

15:02 - Blizzard picks up his 2nd foul. Mendoza slides back to SF. Walton comes in at PF. We are tied at 7.

11:49 - Down 13-7, I bring in Detrick and Munir.

10:04 - Mendoza and Enzweiler are exhausted. I decide to give Tran a shot to show what he can do at PF even though he is way too thin. Our lineup now is Detrick, Munir, Boxley, Tran, and Walton. We are down 16-8.

5:02 - Down 25-15, I get my starters back into the game.

3:18: Casey draws a 2nd foul on Mendoza. Down 27-19.

Halftime: We are down 32-25. Not that bad considering we have missed almost every 3 point shot. We are 1 of 9 from the arc as a team.

Their backup PF Polk has 8 points against us.

McCurry leads our team with 7 points, mainly due to FT's.

Blizzard's man is locking him down with his speed. Mendoza is a bit overmatched by the size of his guy and suprisingly hasn't been able to beat him off the dribble.

Ugly 2nd half. Parkinson with 4 3's in a row over McCurry who wasn't playing bad defense on 3 of them. We are down 50-30.

10 minutes - We are down 68-40. Parkinson has taken this game over.

8 minutes - We are down 74-42 and it's over. I go to the 2nd unit. Tough night for Mendoza and Blizzard. McCurry got it going a bit from the outside this half, but not enough.

We lose the game 85-57.

Parkinson is the player of the game with 31 points. He shot 11 of 17, 6 of 9 from the arc.

Didlake with 3 points and 7 assists. He shot 1 of 7.

McCurry with 16 points, 1 board, and 1 assist. He shot 5 of 11.

Blizzard with 7 points, 3 boards, 1 assist, and 3 turnovers. He shot 2 of 11.

Mendoza with 8 points, 3 boards, and a steal. He shot 3 of 9.

Enzweiler with 6 points, 7 boards, and 2 blocks. He shot 1 of 6.

Boxley led our bench with 10 points and 5 boards.

Time to find out if we get any early signees..

The good news is that Percy Moye is a Trojan! Hopefully, he is as good as advertised.

The bad news is that Grimes chose Oregon. Also, 2 other 5 stars that we ewre pursuing chose other schools: Tommie Cuic left California to go to Arizona. The top PG in the nation, Mustafa Hull, stayed relatively close to his home of Oakland and chose Stanford.

Our next game is at Saint Mary's. They are 6-2 and have a roster strength of 80.

We beat them 67-61 thanks to balanced scoring.

Mendoza, Enzweiler, and Boxley each had 10 points. Didlake, McCurry, and Blizzard each had 5 points.

Walton with 8 points off the bench. Enzweiler had 8 boards and 4 blocks as well.

Our next game is vs a weak Portland State team. Their overall roster strength is 70. They are 2-5. I decide to sim that as well and get to the end of the early signing period..

They upset us 69-68! Mendoza was 2 of 9. Blizzard was 3 of 10. McCurry had 11 points, 6 boards, and 4 assists on 3 of 7 shooting.

We also lose out on a few more targets

5 star SG Isaiah Jimenez chose to stay close to home and is going to FSU.

4 star SG Gerrod Annen from Merced, CA chose Stanford over USC.

Logan Gatling, my backup SG option, signed early with ASU. He is from Bakersfield, CA.

My backup PG option, Austen Andrisevic, signed with Texas.

Suddenly, I'm not nearly as excited about this class. This could get ugly..

We are still neck and neck with LSU for Wilson Valencia from Fayetville, AR. The 5 star JC SO PF isn't quite as vital for us since we got our center and could slide Enzweiler to PF, but I'd still really like to get him. Chauncey Songondo seems to be favoring SDSU over USC. All of our other targets are gone. Time to re-focus our recruiting.

I think I'm going to sim a lot of games this year, possibly the whole year. It's not just impatience, but I think this team is going to struggle this year and I'm more interested in getting to next year when some of these freshmen have developed. I'm definitely going to sim these last 3 OOC games as they all should be easy wins.

First up is Elon. They are 3-3. Their roster strength is 65. We have Camara back and he will start. Mendoza will go back to being a super sub.

We beat them 83-46.

Didlake led the team with 17 points and 4 assists.

Blizzard and Mendoza each had 11. Mendoza also had 6 points and 5 assists (which led the team) in 24 minutes off the bench.

Our next game is at Montana State. They are 3-5. Their roster strength is 65.

It is closer than expected, but we beat them 74-67.

Mendoza led the team in scoring with 13 points. He also had 6 boards and 2 assists.

Didlake, McCurry, and Camara each had 11 points. Blizzard with 7.

Our final non-conference game is hosting Florida A&M. They are 0-8. Their overall roster strength is also 65.

We beat them 81-60.

Mendoza led the team with 18 points, 2 boards, and 2 assists off the bench.

Blizzard and Enzweiler each had 12. Boxley with 11. Didlake with 10 and 6 asssists.

We are 9-3, but I think we are going to be a mid-level Pac-10 Team this year at the best. We'll see. Our staff believes Detrick has shown the most growth which is not surprising since they think he has the best potential. Other than him, they believe Blizzard is the only one who is really improving. Hopefully, the rest of the team comes around..

Now, for a look at the various roster strengths in the conference this year along with their records:

1. #25 in the polls Washington (9-3 - losses are to Cal Poly, Miami (FL) and Kansas)
2. #8 Stanford - 91 (12-1)
3. #16 Oregon - 91 (10-0)
4. #20 Arizona - 90 (10-2)
5. UCLA - 89 (8-3)
6. USC - 88 (9-3 on a soft schedule)
7. Cal - 86 (8-3)
8. Arizona State - 83 (8-4)
9. Oregon State - 82 (8-4)
10. Washington State - 82 (5-5)

Arizona is leading the conference in scoring at 83 ppg.

Oregon State's Center, Ian Hacker, leads the conference in scoring at 22 ppg.

Shumate at Stanford leads the conference in assists at 7.3.

Mance at Arizona leads the conference in blocks at 2.7.

Shumate is considered the best overall player.

Oregon's Lindeman, a SG, is considered the best freshman by most experts.

Shumate is considered the best pro prospect.

Mance is considered the conference's best defender.

We get to open our schedule AT Stanford. This should be a quick indicator if we can hang with the big boys or not. McCurry is a bit banged up but will play. Their freshman SF, Mire Holden, is out with a shoulder injury. He had been starting for them.

Their starting 5:

SR PG Charlie Shumate, 6'5 200, rated 89 overall.

JR SG Antanas Tolic, 6'6 227, rated 86 overall.

SO G/F Jason Guinn, 6'5 205, rated 82 overall.

JR PF Jon Farley, 6'10 233, rated 85 overall.

FR C Vernon Tobias, 6'9 226, rated 74 overall.

Top bench players:

SR PG Chey Soto, 6'0 185, rated 83 overall.

SO SG Vernard Buckendahl, 6'3 184, 82 overall, great 3 point shooter.

The rest of their bench is all in the low 70's.
