Baez knew exactly what he was doing and was the one pointing to get the runner between 2nd and 3rd. It was clearly on purpose and was a brilliant defensive play.

That was after he realized it wasn't a double play though.

Oh well, still should have been an IF fly rule for that very reason.

Pleased Kershaw made it through the 7th. Small victory that should go a long ways for confidence for him. It's his best game since he's been back from the DL

Dodger fans, what the hell is the fascination with the bunt? I am not just talking the Puig at bat. Every other batter is faking a bunt attempt. Is this normal for this team?

Yesterday it was because Lester isn't good at it. Today it was to try to manufacture runs but it hasn't been a staple of this team this year. Roberts is innovating as he goes

What was the excuse this year for Jason Heyward not cracking double digit homers and posting a .631 OPS? Isn't he at the start of about a 150 million dollar deal?

On the bright side, the Jays will finally fire Gibbons and whatever clown is masquerading as our hitting coach. Two squandered opportunities. Shapiro and company will dismantle the team and we'll suck for the next half decade. Should be great. But at least I got to experience post-season baseball as an adult. That was cool.

The AL Central teams thank you for your team's implosions in post season play.

Oh Curt Schilling, you are giving Trump a run for his money. Schilling's new stance is essentially "You guys needs to elect Curt Schilling to the senate so that I can stop the government from lending money to guys like Curt Schilling"

What the heck has gotten into Rich Hill? Suddenly at the age of 36 he becomes an elite MLB pitcher.

Don't start 2 guys who can't hit curveballs (Soler and Russell) against a guy who only throws curveballs?

Heyward can't hit anything (though I think I'd still start him over Soler, who hasn't been hitting for quite some time).

I suppose you could get weird, and but Baez at SS, Zobrist at 2B, and Contreras at LF, but hell, again. NOBODY is hitting.

Heyward struggles against velocity. Something Rich Hill does not have. Soler can't hit a curveball.

Ugh! Dodgers might be in the drivers seat now with another Kershaw start and 2 more at home. Cubs NEED to win tomorrow. Playoff baseball is so much different than the regular season.

Doesn't seem like it takes much to throw a gem against this Cubs lineup these days.

Go Cubs. Go Dodgers. That said, Cleveland earned it. Jays bats never showed up. Pitching was quite good by and large.

How the fuck can they miss that call at the plate with AGon? It wasn't even close.

All-around stinker. Probably the sloppiest game they have played all season. Four errors, and just not a very inspired performance. That being said, they are an incredibly resilient bunch. A great win like last night and a horrible loss like tonight only count as 1 in the tally. The sports media can start fawning over the Cubs again, playing right into the Dodgers' hands. The underdog role served them well in Game 5 of the NLDS. And also in taking a 2-1 lead in this series. After the win yesterday, Bovada made the Dodgers the new World Series favorites. And the media wrote off the Cubs. Now they will be back on their bandwagon, and the Dodgers can return to playing sound, fundamental baseball.

I know Roberts said Kershaw is not starting tomorrow but I still feel like there is a chance they use him. Would allow them to also use him in a Game 7 from the pen.

Nah, they want Maeda for the last home game and Kershaw for game 6 since that's guaranteed now. He either pitches to clinch or pitches to keep LA in it. It becomes the big game now.

I hope the Dodgers are watching ESPN right now. They're debating who should win the World Series right now. The Cubs or the Indians? Last I checked the Cubs aren't in the World Series yet.

The Cubs are good, no mistake about it. But they have also been beyond fortunate. The Dodgers sloppy fielding and mental lapses have contributed greatly to their 3 losses.

- While you acknowledge that temperature has an effect on how far the ball travels, you continue to insist that there's more to it than that and make claims about how much less offense there is in the post-season

You are making claims that are beyond standard, known factors that would drive down offense in the post-season (colder weather, more innings pitched by better pitchers), thus the burden of proof is on you. Let's see the numbers on how much less offense there is in the post-season. Let's review the average temperature drop from June-August vs. October.

You're asking for opinions, and it seems that most of the opinions expressed so far are that there's nothing going on in the post-season that requires an explanation of doctored/different baseballs.

Fangraphs came up with a couple small article on this subject. It’s No Coincidence Playoff Hitting Is Down | FanGraphs Baseball
Bullpen Usage Is Destroying Offense This Postseason | FanGraphs Baseball

The theory is better pitching it outperforming the better hitting without a mention of weather effects. And bullpen usage has decreased hitting. Postseason wOBA over the past 15 years is .278 compared to .318 for the regular season. Id like to see more research done on this topic as I feel there are numerous factors in play.
