Texas started looking ahead to Stanford in Houston at the 4 minute mark. They almost pissed the game away.

really good effort on that comeback by miami, they burned too much clock(and texas played some good perimeter D) in the last minute and just barely ran out of time.

All three games within 4 points now. SD and Davidson have comeback from double digit deficits.

This is the first game where I've seen the refs be really biased so far. Quite a bit of uneven officiating in the tourney but this one is strongly in favor of Tennessee.

See above. It's hard when you're getting smacked around, going to the hoop.

This is what I love about the first weekend and why there's nothing else like the tourney: "Well, this game is going to break. Here's another one that's close until we get back from break"

I picked 2 double-digit seeds to make the sweet 16: Davidson & WKU.

Georgetown shooting 61% to Davidson 35%, but it's still tied.

That looked like a stone-cold foul at the end of regulation in the Butler-Tenn, but I would have to see it again. It's a brave ref that calls that foul after the travel call 2 seconds earlier I guess...

I'm giggling right now. I'm giggling SO FREAKIN' hard.

This is just an amazing afternoon right now.

And Tennessee continues to get lucky as the refs didn't call a charge on that sequence. Unreal. Missed a few fouls. If Butler loses, I'm gonna be slightly pissed.. At least the Vols missed BOTH free throws. LOL

What a crazy possession there! OMG! A huge block from Tennessee, I'd like to see replays to confirm it wasn't goaltending, damn. Tennessee ball 30 seconds left.

Back to Davidson's game. LOL

Still a small chance for Butler, down 3 with 5 secodns to go, still shooting one more free throw. Dunno why I'm updating here as I'm sure everyone is watching. L OL

edit to add: The officiating was inconsistent, but not one-sided. They called ticky tack early, called a lot less late. But when the fouls are dead even & the FT's are within one (and then only because one team had to take a couple of fouls late) then you can take your whining & shove it up your ass.

Yeah this could wind up being even crazier than it has been so far. What like 30 blocks in the first few minutes.

Since I have rarely had a dog in the March Madness fight, there is usually one team that I end up rooting for, for various reasons. This year it is Washington State. Here's why (from our local columnist):

Quote:
Washington State's Cougars embrace basketball's great virtues. They emphasize defense and passing. They have no use for the empty brand of showmanship that belongs in a circus.

Horrific. No empty trips for UNC. Missed a couple of shots now but rebounded and scored after each.
