Im guessing i can talk now.. Barkeep told me morning phase in a pM, but I assumed it meant during the phase, but now I guess he meant after (which we are now at). I didnt mean I found a mine, i was trying to be all treasurehunterish/minerish and everyone knows or guessed that I went off for an extra day to do some research. Once I get the sure go ahead that i can babble, and I find my morning results, I'll go over some things I found |

Well, I've been a bit sulled up today, so I haven't been reading like I should. I've been suspicious of blade, but who isn't at this point? I wonder about saldana and taz, since I felt I was being set up, but the way I look at it, like path mentioned (I think), everyone should look at it that way. I agree, that move thing looks bad on me. I can only hope hoops comes through and wins it for all of us.

If this works, hoops will be appointed as a captain in the Blahoopian Navy. As such, he can modify his AP tonight to join the Navy...which I'm assuming he did or is doing right now. He will need 10 gold and then leave immediately for the Sea Port (?, I don't recall seeing that on the map) to hire more sailors to rid us of the pirates once and for all.
Not from the letter, barkeep said to expect the recruiting to take 3 days.

When Blade went out he published a good/bad list. Ardent was on neither side of the ledger. I suspect we'll be looking back at this post (or one like it) sometime soon to try and get leads on a 3rd pirate.

I've got my year-end review (running a bit behind, not way ahead) tomorrow afternoon, but should have some availability in the morning and again before the votes are tallied.
Quick impressions on people left in the game at this point (will need to review reported movements from Day 2 tomorrow morning for better analysis): Trust scale: 1-10, with 10 being absolute trust and 1 being absolute pirate Path12 (8) - not in position to kill either night, put heat on Blade Alan T (7) - seems to be playing solid TH game, different vibe than last game Penny (5) - vouched for Raiders on investigator PM. Goes down big-time if Raiders is shown to be a pirate. Hoopsguy (10) - identified Blade as pirate, not in position for either kill, I know my own role Raiders (4) - have not seen anything in his play yet to validate the investigator role. Either a very successful fake reveal (up to this point) or he is just not doing enough to build the trust that his role should have Saldana (7) - one of people who brought heat against AE KWhit (8) - out of position for kill on Day 1. Brought heat on Blade. Very consistent game up to this point. Would stand up and applaud if he is shown to be a wolf this game. Qwikshot (5) - having fun reading his material, but no strong impressions on him as TH or pirate. Grammaticus (5) - believe his location has been vouched for as away from scene during both kills. TazFTW (7) - not a ton of content, but what has been posted has been very helpful. Stuck AE on movement. Kingfc (6) - out of position on Day 1 kill. Vouched for me on my dig results from Day 1. Ardent (2) - will have to see immediate results tomorrow from his "captain" story to believe him. A three day wait period smells very fishy. Schmidty (4) - hard guy to read, plays similar game as good guy and bad guy. But with so many people having modest trust already I have to tilt him towards modest distrust at the moment. Vince (5) - probably deserves to be a little more trusted, but experience from spawn game subtracts one right away. All in all, I would look hardest at Ardent (duh), Schmidty and Raiders tomorrow if there is nothing from today's actions that strongly changes impressions. I think it makes sense to start looking beyond Ardent if it is clear he is going to be a runaway vote. |

King, I don't really want to post on my gold totals at this moment. If I have a letter tomorrow like AE says then I'll see where I stand at that time.
Ardent, last time you and I went toe-to-toe in a WW thread we settled it with Silos pizza ... we should agree to meet up again after this game is over. Note that this is not a bet But I'm very curious about how you have played this game, whatever side you are on. |

Going home for the night now.
I'd like to point out there was virtually no way for me to come up with 10 gold before you jail me tomorrow, so I couldn't do this on my own. I seriously thought about just keeping the letter to myself, given the amount of contempt I've been given by just about everyone. Still, the ardent in me just couldn't let my fellow treasure hunters down.

Well Im guessing its nothing earth shattering, but i did alot of research on spot resource replinishment, mine rate, turn rate, etc. Some of the things I found arent necessarily saying what we thought before was wrong, but not exactly right. (such as I got different amounts from the same square in two consecutive turns. Once morning results are posted, I'll give my details in full. |

Took me half as much time to do the PMs as yesterday. Yeah!
Saldana, who had just been seen leaving the bank, was brutally murdered nearby that location today. The police say that it was very bloody and gory. They are puzzled by the string of murders but are feeling quite hopeful things will sort themselves out soon and the problem will go away. Saldana was reported to have a will that left all his possesions to Qwikshot. Shady comes into the tent and seems quite surprised to see Ardent there. "Ya were feeling chartiable eh? Well I suppose that means Hoopsguy has escaped this paradise and won while all of you are stuck here. No matter. "Today the auction has a slight twist. You've no doubt seen that Schmidty and Vince both now have shovels. Well guess who got the 3rd, and last, one? That's right yours truly. And I am willing to sell it to you, but only for at least 8 GP. Otherwise I'll just hold onto it." We're now in Evening Cycle 3. This will end Sunday at 8 AM. Morning cycle will then begin and last until 8 AM Monday, though if people get orders in sooner, I'll process sooner. |

Ok, I went digging over the last few days to try to test a few things including how replinishment works. What i found was this:
I did not get the same amount of gold every time I dug in a square, this however was due to a square running out of resources. I went between two squares, I will call square A and square B. I found in Square A I could receive on 3 consecutive digs something such as: 2, 2, 1. The 1 being the last piece of gold in that square. Then the next day I dig in Square A again and got 0. Then moving to Square B, I once again got 2, 2 each time. I wish I could have stayed out longer, but I had to make it back to the bank. My fear was that the next night Grammaticus or myself might be targets if we camped out. This way if for whatever reason they do go after me, at least they will not get my gold. What this does tell me is one of two things: 1) Either once a square is tapped out, its gone for good 2) It does not restock itself by the next day at least. If its #1, then we are dealing with a finite amount of resources on this island, and thus the free spending of gold from before becomes a little more concerning. As eventually the island would run out and we could not meet our goal. Now as far Saldana being killed, this move struck me a little.. I had not mentioned his name previously as I did not want to jump out and list everyone I suspected a little, but he was one I was watching as a possible pirate. Obviously now that he isn't, I am wondering what about Saldana made them pick him. I'll have to look at that more today. As for hoops being gone (like Ardent said), I guess I'm still skeptical. In my mind it -could- be the captain thing like AE had been saying, but my mind is also running wild with thoughts such as pirate kidnapping, or conversion or who knows what. With Blade in jail, Raiders leaving the game, right now Ardent was the last of the "suspects" per say, I do know that Ardent picked a neat way to get one of the people who was throwing out good ideas about who to go for out of the picture for a few days, whether intentional or unintentional. |

Barkeep, quick question.. when you die and you have money in the bank, does that money go to the bank of the person you willed it to, or on to their possession? (ie: they have to rebank it and could be a target)?

I went back to look at why Saldana, to try to get a clue from his posts.
One thing I wonder is if the pirates have less control of who they kill this game and its more luck based on who you happen to end up being near. This might be a case of them trying to "frame" someone by killing him, but I did not really see alot of stuff that he said to really frame many people. Either way, I saw Saldana was annoyed with Blade, he got annoyed at one point with Taz claiming credit for somehting that he felt he deserved, but other than that the only person he really was strong against was Ardent. Saldana was the one who pointed out the discrepency of Ardent's claim with what reality would have been. Ardent never did give a good excuse to that, just saying Barkeep must have made a mistake which I don't personally think flies. Ardent then distracted people with going out and buying that envelope and making the giant clame of "We can win this game with this one move" and sending Hoops off to some vacation or whatever out of touch for 3 days. This seems to have calmed some people down off of Ardent, but in my mind I don't think it effects my thoughts on whether he should be cleared or not unless we find out more about that envelope. As of now, I don't think Ardent really gave a good excuse for his "mistake" that Saldana pointed out, Saldana ended up dying for that possibly, and the whole envelope thing seems fishy to me. I'm interested in hearing what or who people saw while out during the morning. For now though, I'll go ahead and toss a vote out to get the ball rolling: VOTE Ardent Enthusiast |
