Did someone forget to tell the Bears that Steve Smith is good?

So, Steve Smith pushes the defender to the ground, and the defender gets called for P.I?

The game was fun enough, but I think I enjoyed coming in here more and reading the posts afterwards, anticipating the reactions to the should have been INT, Bettis fumble, and missed kick (man that was the biggest choke job ever).

I thought these teams run the ball and hit hard on defense?

What's up with the Run and Gun start.

Which team gets to play the "no respect" card in the AFC next week?

I still fail to see how bowling over a cornerback is a penalty on the cornerback.

Here's where the Panthers take a knee 3 times and punt the rest of the game, like that Waterboy movie, because 7 points is easily enough to beat the Bears if the defense doesn't score.

Should've been OPI, more refs getting paid.

That was a really bizarre call, just as bad as some of the other ones we've seen in the AFC. I think the #1 priority for the rules committee this offseason is to figure out pass interference. I don't understand the rule, and it seems few refs do either.

Both teams have been disrespected. I think Denver wins a little based on the fact they'd won 13 of 15 games with loses by five combined points and watched nearly every major publication predict them to lose on their home field to a 10 win team.

But Pitt can play the no respect card as well and I'm sure they will. I didn't think they could get by Indy today, that's for sure.

The Bears' offense is like the Redskins', but with less flair and worse QB'ing. Brutal.

“About Football Glossary - Offensive Pass Interference”
Definition: A penalty in which an offensive player significantly hinders a defensive player's opportunity to intercept a forward pass or pushes off of the defender to give himself an advantage.

I'd say Tillman was significantly hindered.

You guys are full of shit. Tillman was falling into Smith. At the most, Smith brushed off Tillman's contact.

If you're Nick Harper and come up with that fumble with only the QB to beat for a TD you have to find a way to do it....

Although its not going to be heeded, I think its appropriate at this time in the thread to advise everyone to calm down and turn off the TV.

It looked to me like Barian gave up on that ball b/c he knew he was getting the call (he would have had a TD with a catch).

Does anyone not think that Grossman is going to throw at least 3 interceptions in this game?

Grossman might want to try looking in another direction before throwing it.

Doesn't he need to make a football move there?

No way in hell that he did.

In extreme slow motion, it looked like a catch and fumble, but since Paumalu didn't make a football move after his stop drop and roll, then there's no way this can be a catch. But really, who knows these days.

No catch. He did not have complete control all the way through

That means the play will stand based on this playoffs' offiiciating

Hell, his knee was on the ground when he was first hit, even if they rule it a catch.

What the hell is going on with the refs this weekend? They've just been horrible.

I think instant replay has made referees do a much worse job.

It seems like they are more likely to just "guess" on the field, instead of talking it over and coming up with the best possible call.

I thought I saw on the replay that his knee was down, but that he got it back up right before he was tackled. Who knows though.
