Part of I-20 in Atlanta has now buckled. Whiskey. Tango. Foxtrot.

Oh gas leaks... though apparently it seems at least, you can just get off of Flat Shoals exit and follow it through and get back onto I-20 through through the access road without much trouble. Of course you'll probably have to do that with all cars heading west... but at least that's easier than the I-85 thing.

That city has horrible traffic in the best of conditions. Can't even imagine it now.

Mind you now, this was mere hours after the downtown connector was shutdown from like 3a-7a due to a hazmat spill.

I think I know how we're gonna get to Oxford, MS for frat parents weekend on Thursday: Athens to SC, through NC, into TN, down through Huntsville to Birmingham & then resume the usual route.

Oh, and I think Trump is in town a week from Friday, which is really going to snarl traffic even more that day.

Things are about to get worse in ATL...it appears part of I20 is now closed in Decatur due to a road buckling.

Parts of Cheshire Bridge area were closed today too. It's like a nonstop clusterfuck.

Mostly tongue in cheek (sounds like a genuinely shitty situation) but don't ever come to LA if 45 mins to go 3-4 miles is a problem for you

I could run it about 10 minutes faster than that.

Supposedly reopened today? Any residents notice a difference?

I drove northbound on Fri evening and southbound on Sun morning. It was great, didn't have to take the I-75 detour.

Was a nice boon for my wife & child as he returned from college this weekend.

Meant she didn't have to deal with going "the long way around" and he didn't have to worry about making sure he knew how to get home.

edit to add: on that note, it's an enormous relief for my wife. The alternate routes had turned a 1-2 hour trip to Atlanta on weekdays into a 2-4 hour trip ... each way. And a rather unpredictable length to boot. It was to the point that there were serious discussions about leaving her job because it was simply too much to deal with for much longer.

I made it to my son's school in 10 minutes this morning instead of 45. It was glorious.

My commute has increased by about 40 minutes the last 2 days.
