It's just convenient that you have a back-up favorite team in the SEC, in case Michigan is having a bad year.

A) Shocking (Besides Utah)
B) SEC related. Arkansas, LSU, and South Carolina aren't even in the playoff discussion. To me it means maybe a Missouri or A&M or Mississippi gets more benefit of the doubt than a middle of pack Big 10 team or Pac 12 team.

It's a double edged sword. Take my favorite team Mizzou... Is there any doubt in my mind that they shoot up the polls quicker and get more credit for wins in the SEC than they ever did in the Big 12? None. The 2007 Mizzou team had to beat KU to be validated as #1 and never started in the top 25 like they did this year with an average team. On the flip side I would say the bottom feeders of the SEC are actually competitive teams compared to any other conference, the middle teams seem to handle their OOC pretty well, and the elite teams do nothing but win its OOC, bowl games, national title games. Everyone seems OK with the Big 10 and before that the Big East getting all this credit in basketball for OOC dominance not sure how you can argue with the SEC and their OOC dominance.

They better move quickly for a permanent replacement. Any high profile candidate is going to want to know who he's working for.

My Dad was born and raised in 'Bama, and I have had 'Bama\SEC football jammed down my throat since day one. Both my parents have family down in the 'Bama and Florida area so going down there was the default vacation growing up.

That already happened. Brandon I think had a chance, but once the e-mails came out, he's merely saving face while he can.

It's been quite a while since I've watched college football, Wisconsin and Rutgers have not convinced me it was wise to return. A truly woeful display of passing the ball.

Joel Stave is not the QB to be watching if that is what you are looking for.

It's also cold and raining. Wisconsin is a run-first team and Nova sucks when he's healthy and has a bum knee. Don't know what you could possibly expect. If you like seeing high-scoring passing, watch the TCU-WVU game today.

I'm in the UK so only have one choice, but it's not about high-scoring, just competent play I guess.

And still, Joel Stave is not the QB to be watching with that criteria

The draw to watching Wisconsin is RB Melvin Gordon.

If Edsall ordered his kids to not shake hands at the coin toss I hope he gets fired, if the kids did it on their own they should have sat the whole game.

Disgraceful display.

Dragging a QB down from behind by the facemak apparently isn't a penalty in the big 12.

Well something interesting could be developing in FCS land. #1 North Dakota State is currently losing to SD State 10-6 as they near the half. #2 Coastal Carolina is currently beating Gardner Webb 21-14 as they get close to the half. My head might explode if this trend continues...

We've reached the point of the game where it's at least a little hard for me to not get a little excited about the possibility of an upset.

Waaaaay too much time left for me to get my hopes up much though.

Back & forth, TV and computer.

Florida has run it largely down Georgia's throat so far, and stifled the mutts offense since the first quarter. To this point it's the inability to stop that run and the absence of big plays.

Late in the 3rd quarter, Florida and Georgia have combined for 132 yards passing.

Stupid Pitt.... I know Tech would have been blasted by FSU in the ACC title game, but in order to have a chance to get there Duke needs to lose 2 more times while Tech wins out in the ACC.

Through 3, Florida has 6 pass attempts...and 306 yards rushing. One way to reduce QB errors is to not have the ball in his hands.

Didn't see this coming.

It all depends. Is Edsall a fan of Jimbo Fisher? If he is, he'll reward the kids with a plaque at the end of the year and go on a media rampage defending their integrity.

If, on the other hand, he has a shred of character, he'll revoke the captaincies at a minimum.

It's a joke. The last missed PI on West Virginia was beyond horrible. That was a TD pass if the PI doesn't happen. That is, simply put, a call you cannot miss.

Now I'm hoping UF gets the ball back again so they can get two 200 yard rushers in the same game. How often has that happened?

Wonder what the order of excuses will be? Top contenders:

NCAA for no Gurley.
Refs (didn't watch the game but they seem to always be behind Uga losses)

The few amongst the fan base that have a clue started calling out the problem -- the staff -- by early in the 3rd quarter. But even the hardest of diehards agreed that the phrase "If only ..." would be the most common refrain amongst the masses.

CMR can stay in Athens forever afaic.

Based on the texts message that I have received from my friends who are UGA fans, Mark Richt would look real good as Jameis Winston's QB coach right now.

2nd most rushing yards (416) ever allowed by Georgia.
Only Auburn (430) in 1978 had more.

edit to add: That Auburn game in '78 ended in a 22-22 tie. The tie cost UGA a share of the SEC title that year (5-0-1), Alabama (6-0) got it instead. Their only other regular season blemis in '78? A week three loss to then-not-SEC opponent South Carolina.

At a minimum? It's a dumb, classless move that deserves some punishment, but refusing to shake hands is a teaching moment. They didn't deliberately try to injure an opponent or get arrested for domestic violence.

I agree, it is a teaching moment. Were I the coach, they would lose the captaincy and the first half of the following game. You can't hurt a college kid with a wallet. You don't really hurt him by the captaincy either. You change the behavior by taking game time away.

If he takes the captaincy, but does not suspend for any length of time, I'll accept it. He doesn't do anything, I'll lose respect for him.
