Who in their right mind can hate Gail? I can give you two reasons why it is simply impossible to hate her.

Toby was terrible. He tried to come off as a Simon Cowell/Gordon Ramsay-type character on a show where that was really out of place and poor form. Ted wasn't that way - there's a way to critique food on this show, and acting like a pompous smart ass isn't it. At least, unless you are a world famous chef, I suppose.
I don't know... I thought Toby was in it for the shtick and little else, so replacing him is a good thing. Gail doesn't bother me. Neither do her boobs.

Eric Ripert is a bad ass chef. Toby was useless as a critic, since he wasn't entertaining and had no credibility. Personally my top choice as a semi-permanent judge would be Anthony Bourdain, but Ripert is an excellent choice.
And you mess with Gail over my dead body. |

Had a chance to eat at Michael Voltaggio's new restaurant in LA, Ink, a couple of weeks ago.
Definitely a wow. One of the two or three best restaurant experiences I've had. |
