Thanks for the heads up on this game. I'm now watching on MLB.tv. This new video player is really nice.

Yea it really is. I've been watching ST games and they only let you watch the lowest quality.

This is the first game they've shown with the new player and it's amazing.

Let me guess, some sort of softball rule where they start each inning by putting a runner on base?

Yea....each team starts with 0 outs and runner on 1st and 2nd.

Yeah, start with runners at 1st and 2nd, I think they said.

I'm thinking about it and I really hate the extra innings rule. If your going to do anything, just put a runner on 1st. A runner on 2nd makes it way to easy to sac bunt and then sac fly for a run.

Just curious but have you been able to download and install the "next def" plugin needed to view at the highest quality? I downloaded in during a commercial but received an error message on my Mac. Maybe I need to close the viewer to install the plugin?

Kingsale redeems himself with a 2 run homer to win the game in the bottom of the 11th? Sure, it could happen

But on the bottom where that green bar thing is, mine is all the way to the right so I'm assuming I'm getting the best quality possible.

Yup, I think you're getting the best quality. I'll have to try downloading the plugin after the game ends.

Torn. Love the story of the Dutch in this one, but I also want the best of th ebest in the next round, and I believe the Dominicans should be one of the best.

Of course, maybe it's a new world. Go Netherlands!

Wel, Kingsale didn't hit the HR, but he certainly redeemed himself with the tying RBI and the winning Run. Good call, SI.

HOLY CRAP... how did the Dutch beat the Dominican Republic twice?! Guess the D.R. is missing A-Rod pretty fierce now!

It was a really fun game to watch. If MLB Network does "instant classics"- this needs to be there

How did they lose twice to the Dutch? A-Rod or not, that team is still filled with all-stars and facing some minor leaguers and guys not even good enough to be in the minors.

Yeah, the Dutch team looked so badly overmatched at the plate and they lucked into 2 of those 3 hits that scored the two runs (the leadoff double was definitely a solid hit- it almost went out).

But, I think it was one of those times where the Dominican just didn't take them seriously even the second time and the pitchers alternated between taking advantage of the overaggression and lucking out of danger the whole game.

Honestly, the Dutch team looked like a AA team playing against the AL All Star team but that's what makes it so cool to see the win

Watched the last 3 innings of the game last night... amazing. The Dutch, seriously? Are most of those players actually from The Netherlands, or from their Caribbean island territories?

Either way, it was amazing on Saturday, and flat jaw-dropping last night.

Cuba and Australia seemed like an amazing game as well, with a 2 run pinch hit HR with 2 outs in the 8th giving Cuba a 5-4 win.

Though I think Australia will knock off Mexico to get into the next round (then we'll see Cuba and Australia again for seeding)

I heard an interesting stat on Sportscenter when they were doing the highlights on the Dutch game.

Combined baseball salary on the team.....

Dominican Republic: $83.5 million
Dutch: $400 thousand

That was the combined MLB salary of the team, but, similar idea (i.e. there must be one Dutch player making league minimum)
