Found an interesting stat that I hope stays true.

Since Stoops arrived, the higher ranked team has won everytime.

Missouri fans are starting to act like Tech fans. I thought we had enough trash in the league, but I guess not.

Anyway, back to the game at hand...should be a good one, I can't wait, and texas still sucks.

And the rest of the Big 12 can confirm that Oklahoma fans have never changed, even during the Blake years. They're still pompous and arrogant as they always have been.

Saw this on another forum. According to ESPN Insider:

Quote:
"Oklahoma's defense should be prepared for a pooch punt. McCoy has punted once and placed the ball inside the 20-yard line."

Uh-oh... Texas is holding NOTHING back.

Then there's this from Dr. Lou last night:

Quote:
"All of those orange fans up there. I would say to our players, they wear orange so they can cheer for their team. They'll wear the same orange outfit tomorrow to go hunting. And they'll wear the same orange outfit the last five days of the week in order to pick up trash."

That's tragic. In ACC/SEC country we still get to see Oklahoma - Texas.

Worst roughing the passer call in history? At least they were held to a FG attempt.

Besides that, great game so far. Quan Cosby is legit, both teams are legit, and I'd love to see some real showdowns between these Big 12 offenses and the SEC defenses .

OU is letting Texas hang around with poor special teams play and penalties. When a clearly superior team lets an inferior team hang around, that's how upsets happen. OU needs to step it up in the 2nd half.

Don't think so yet, but it depends on how Missouri and LSU look tonight. I'm also not sure they vault an idle Alabama.

Ugh... I can't think of a thing that can ruin my week more than a loss to Texas. It was quite a game, though (save the horrible calls on both sides). McCoy and Texas just kept coming back, and OU couldn't do the same when they needed it.

Man... Talk about feeling dirty. I'm going to actually root for Texas to beat Missouri. Even though it's obviously better for OU if Texas notches a couple of losses, for me it comes down to respect. I have a lot of respect for Colt McCoy and Mack Brown. I can't say the same thing for Mr. Daniels.

Don't take it personally, MizzouRah. I think he's an incredibly talented player, but he's just not what I would characterize as a humble guy, as I would Colt McCoy. I tend to respect the humble players far more.

I do take it personally because I know people who know Chase and he is quite humble and quite a character guy from what I've been told.

What makes you think he's not? I'm just curious...

A couple of things. In that Big 12 Championship game last year, I didn't think he handled the adversity very well. He threw an interception at one point, if I remember right, and put his hands up in the air at his own receiver. When he got stopped on some runs, he was up shoving and jawing at some guys. Now, I don't have any problem with emotion in a game certainly; in fact, quite the opposite. But I thought he took it too far on a couple of occasions when he wasn't playing very well.

Then there are the interviews he has given. For example, I heard something about one in which he was talking about him being a legend at Mizzou. Another time he was asked who the best QB was in the Big 12, and he said himself. Again, I don't have a problem with confidence, but it seems that on multiple occasions he has taken it too far. Let others say you're a legend and the best in the Big 12; don't say it yourself.

All of this is just my perception, of course.

OU got some bad news after the game. It looks like starting middle linebacker Ryan Reynolds is out for the year. Texas' rushing game was non-existent before he went out, then they started ripping off some good rushing yardage after he left the game in the 2nd half.

Note to OU fans... Don't go onto the message boards. They level of stupidity among some people blows my mind sometimes. Sky is falling proclamations, hatred for Stoops... Man, what a bunch of idiots.

There's a lot I'm not happy about (the result being the most obvious thing). OU didn't run the ball well, didn't come up with the big plays when they needed them, couldn't put the defensive clamp down on Texas, had plenty of stupid penalties, and came just short on a couple of potential game-changing moments.

But in college football, nothing is over. They're a good team and need to get back to work, stay focused.

Very sorry to hear about Reynolds. That kid has gone through so much, and I think that might just be the end for him. Really, really too bad.

It's just one loss. There aren't going to be two undefeated teams in the title game. I just can't see it this year.

I just think you like to hate on Mizzou.. and that's fine with me.

1. He is a legend at Mizzou
2. He is one of the best QB's in the nation
3. He has so much emotion and I love that in a leader

To each his own.. but from a fan who's team has beaten us every single year , I would expect a bit more in terms of real facts on Chase and why you don't respect him. Oh well... out of all the Big 12 teams, I like OU and how they play football.

There are always the OU fair weather message board idiots who call for the coaching staff to be fired after every (rare) loss. They were the same ones crowing about OU running over everyone and going 14-0 this year. However, I saw some troubling warning signs before this game:

OU's inability to run the ball this year against good teams.

The inexplicable horrible kickoff coverage (OU was something like 100th nationally going into this game). I've never seen Stoops' OU special teams anywhere close to being this terrible, and I don't have an explanation as to why.

And finally, the razor thin depth at linebacker this year. When Ryan Reynolds went out and was replaced by Brandon Crow, it was painfully obvious that this kid had no business being on the field. He was out of position on almost every play in the 2nd half.

In the end, you have to give a lot of credit to Mack Brown, Colt McCoy and the entire Longhorn team. They played like champions in the 2nd half of this game.

And finally, I've got to give a shout to Sam Bradford in a losing effort. He threw for 387 yards and 5 TD's (the most ever by any OU quarterback against Texas). Like McCoy, the guy is a natural born leader, and he's going to continue to do great things at OU.

Actually, I have nothing against Missouri at all - never have. I think Pinkel has done an incredible job building that program, and I'm really impressed with the way the administration gave him time to do it.

I'm not sure what I can do as far as "real facts" when I'm not talking about a factual issue.

It's just my gut reaction to some of his actions/comments over the past couple of seasons. As I said, I don't have any problem with emotion or confidence, I'm just always a bigger fan of the quiet, actions-speak-louder-than-words kind.
