You know, in retrospect that HM thread isn't really the best overall HM thread. But I'm not sure some of the best exist anymore or I can't find them.

This was however the greatest poll in FOFC history:
Vote for me to be allowed back - Front Office Football Central

Some of these old threads also make me wonder how many of our banned comrades have returned in another "character" and live in our midst without our knowledge. Between HM, Wig, Franklin, Mrs. Kippy the guy who faked his death that I'm blanking on his name and others, I'm sure at least one or two of them still live among us.

I agree.

what kind of porn do you prefer?

We don't really get threads like that anymore. We're all growed up or something.

Was Driftwood one of HM's alter-egos? I never really noticed the screen name before I just saw it in the "Vote to allow me back" thread, and it looks like it was created right when I moved to Driftwood, TX. Eerie.

It's so sad to see things masquerading as the truth when they're not. I really thought Detox had it until I saw the word Notre Dame. Clearly the best dynasty ever is GB's X-Com.

GB's dynasty was about making Notre Dam the worst team in the NCAA. It's gold Jerry, gold.

I've read it. It's quality. But it's like putting a stanza from a sonnet of Shakespeare up against the whole of Hamlet. Sure the stanza might be great, but Hamlet's in a whole different category of great.

I wasn't really a big reader of X-Com myself, leaving GB's Notre Dame Dynasty and Kodos' Gatesville Dynasty as far and away my two favorite ever. I'm personally a bit partial to Gatesville but both were stellar.

Don't you hate when you look at an old thread and see that you posted, but have no clue what you were talking about?

I'm happy to report that my response would essentially be the same today:

One thing I had never noticed about the awkward thread: jb's first three posts, I think, clinch the idea that he is a dupe account. It really reads like somebody forgot to log out as jb and started posting as him/herself.

I think this thread is great because of the dramatic twist and turns. And even jbmagic bitch-slapped Jimmy.

I was way too serious in that thread. I think that thread was actually really close to the time where I finally got divorced from my first disaster of a marriage.. go figure!

I think this is really a question of "What's the Second Greatest Thread in FOFC History?".

The Maximum Thread cannot be topped, ever.

If I am remembering the personal details correctly, your SMU post is actually quite funny. At least, it is now.

The Maximum Football thread is the "Da Vinci Code" of FOFC: Over-produced, trying way too hard, and hailed as a classic only by those who actually appeared in it.

i don't know if they are on here but . . .

for dynasty, i am partial to ben's bear bryant. i enjoyed the writing and storyline, the length was epic and, well, there's something to be said about a dynasty being ran and posted across 4 separate incarnations of message boards. some of QS' early dynasties could have competed but he switched to different challenges more often.

for FOF, there was an old thread by QS called "grassy knoll" in one of the previous incarnations of the board. we were still in the process of trying to figure out how various elements of the game works and had some really good discussions in there. by "we", i mean i ooh'ed and ahh'ed while the likes of QS, ez and various other brains brought up points. yay.

No, not at all. I dunno what the thread was titled, but the one where you were watching the sleeping girl was excellent.

speaking for myself, i seriously thought about nominating a number of yours. i really liked them. your dynasties were just shorter than what i'd think of amongst "greatest thread" - same reason i did not include any of QS', which i followed a lot back in the days.

as DTR said, this one was awesome. although i have to admit that i have not pick it back up after you re-started it. (in the same way that i did not start back up on frogger's dynasty. i just have weird timing nowadays.)
