All-in-all it sounds like they are trying to make a text sim style game...with the Madden engine used to play the game out (gee...what a concept EA). Not much written about the coaching in the game yet. Doubtful there will be any customizable league settings or the like. Sounds like it's on the right path...but I'd say they still have plenty of time to screw this game up.

Problem with using the Madden engine is that your QB will go 13/40 with 1TD and 4INT every game. And the RB will fumble at least once per possession.

Hopefully they have these options in the drop down list for coaching.

Before head coach came out I actually sent an e-mail to a friend referring to it as the Holy Grail. The reveiws were so bad -- even by the fanboys at MaddenMania! -- that I never even bought it (and yes, soon I was playing FOF). To this day I'm still dying for the inside scoop on what derailed the development process. I always assumed it was rushed into production, but I'd love to hear your theories or rumors.

I remember lurking on that board during the release. They are pretty well known for banning anyone with anti-EA reviews, but couldn't keep up when this game came out. Eventually the mods just gave up, tried to consolidate a few threads, and jumped on the pile of crap-wagon.
