Ha! That is very amusing to read, especially in light of all of Negreanu's whining about how Annie Duke did not deserve to be in the $2 million single table freeroll TOC event.

I picked the wrong Internet guy as rizen (Eric Lynch) is the chipleader at the 1500 PLHE final table. That guy is money.

FWIW, I simply went for people that I knew would play a ton of events, except for my ME pick Gus Hansen.

I was really surprised that none of us picked Devilfish.

I agree. I think we might have missed out on our collective wisdom there, as to be honest, he wasn't a player I had even considered and afterwards I felt stupid about it.

Erik Seidel 9.094
Greg Raymer 7.578
Phil Hellmuth 7.578

Devilfish, Paul Darden, and Isabelle Mercier cashed but were not picked by any FOFC'ers
Larry, I think another of my picks cashed in that event -- Tuan Le went out 75th with $7,578.

This is a tremendous undertaking -- I appreciate you putting this together. If you need help tracking or doublechecking results, let me know. I'd be glad to pitch in.

The $2,500 NL six-handed event is going to post some point totals. I think everyone of my picks played in it, although six are already out. But my remaining four are in the top 33 chips.

Just looked at the live updates and Daniel Negranu is a big chip leader with $30,000 more than 2nd place. Doyle Brunson was just eliminated a couple spots out of the money, but the leaderboard is impressive with Dutch Boyd 3rd, Gavin Smith 6th, Dustin Woolf 10th, John Hennigan and Joe Hachem 14th, Mike Matusow and Patrick Antonious 16th, and it goes on and on with big names still in it. This will definitely be a big one for everyone.

Yeah, Negreanu is rolling. Some other names took some hits, but it looks like a real lively tournament.

Yeah I'm not too big a fan of Negreanu either. How about Mike Matusow climbing up to 10th in the chip count. I should have picked him because he's so hot right now at the WSOP with a 1st at last years TOC, 3rd at this years, and 9th in the main event. Erick Lindgren has climbed up to the top 5 along with Negreanu and Gavin Smith.

At the $1500 Limit event the only name left I recognize is Josh Schlein or SDouble as he is known online, but I dont think anyone on here picked him.

Fixed!

I'll let you know if I need some help. I've got a good spreadsheet set up to take care of this. I just have to get used to the players people have selected, so I don't skip over them like I did yours.

I probably overlooked some, but these are the pool players I found in event No. 3, the $1,500 pot limit event.

John Juanda 37.606
Victor Ramdin 9.777
Chris Ferguson 3.761
Erick Lindgren 2.256

Final table set in event No. 4, the $1,500 limit hold 'em. Mostly journeyman players and rookis, it appears. Phil Ivey was the top scorer going out 21 -- that should be good for 9.476. CardPlayer hasn't posted the official winnings yet, just the payout structure and the log update of chip counts.

Dutch had almost a 6-1 chip lead when heads up began and Joe battled back to a 1.4 million to 600,000 chip defecit, then they got all of their chips in the middle, Joe had AQ and Dutch had A5 and a 5 on the river sealed the win for Dutch. This is a good showing for Joe Hachem to show he wasn't just that guy who got lucky. I think he also had a final table finish at a circuit event earlier this year.

Whoever picked Carlos Mortensen made a very good pick because he's chip leader in the $2,000 limit event. Could be another final table for him.

Maybe Dutch will use the money to pay back the people he stole from when his online poker business pokerspot.com started to go under? If he doesn't, then everyone will think even less of him if that's possible.

It's not possible and I doubt he will do it.

Carlos Mortensen does make his second final table thus far, although he is the shortstack. Analbumcover's Asian strategy also is paying off, this time with Nam Le at the final table.

The Omaha High Low 8 or Better Tourney is down to the final nine with the biggest name left being Daniel Negreanu in 3rd chip position. He's having a good series thus far. Huck Seed was knocked out 11th. Andy Bloch, Sean Sheikan, and John Juanda all cashed.

The No Limit Holdem 5,000 buy in has a ton of big names out of the 180 left that began with more than 600 people. Phil Hellmuth Jr. is deep in a tournament once again and is currently 3rd in chips behind chip leader Jean Robert Bellande. Scotty Ngyuen is 4th, Hung La 6th, Dustin Woolf 9th, Michael Mizrachi 13th, Minh Ngyuen 19th, Marcel Luske 20th, Sammy Farha, Nick Shulman, and Jennifer Harman are all still alive as well and the top 63 cash. Fan favorite Dutch Boyd was just eliminated.

Middle of the pack so far. Not bad, but I figure that either the ME or HORSE is going to determine the winner here. Final tabling the former or winning the latter should be more than enough.

Nam Le is the MVP thus far. That 2nd place in the $2k HE is the big win by any our players thus far.

Kid Poker has made the final table at Omaha and is in third position in chips. In the $5k NL HE, Phil Hellmuth is in third position and could be poised for big payday with the field down to 59 players. He's apparently been abusing Jean-Robert Bellande. Gee, who do you root for there?

Also alive and kicking in that tourney is crowd favorite Marcel Luske, as well as poker celebrities Isabelle Mercier and Rene Agellil, better known as Mr. Celine Dion.

Phil Hellmuth has made the final table and is 2nd in chips in the $5,000 NL. Marcel Luske is 3rd, Isabelle Mercier 5th, all chasing chip leader Vinny Vinh. This is not scheduled to be taped and air on ESPN, but I hope ESPN does make special arrangements to tape it like they did last year with Johnny Chan's 10th bracelet win. With 2 of the more entertaining pros and a fairly attractive female pro I think it would be an amazing table to watch especially if Hellmuth gets heads up with Luske and loses.

Can you imagine the blowup if Hellmuth, desperate for his 10th bracelet, finishes 2nd after getting sucked out on? They HAVE to tape this. He'll win his 10 bracelet or there will be a fantastic blowup. Either way, it would be embarassing for them to miss it.

Yeah, this is the kind of table that ESPN needs to say screw it and cover it anyway and drop something else. I can't understand why it wasn't schedule anyway ... $5k NL HE you know is going to draw a premiere field and have a good group. With Phil going for No. 10, crazy Marcel Luske and the hottie mchot hot Isabelle Mercier, this is crying out for coverage.

Of course, even better is that Johnny Chan is in the hunt in the seven-card stud tourney ... can you imagine how Phil will flip if he gets No. 10 to tie Chan and Brunson and then the next day Chan gets No. 11? If Chan wins it, it would also be the second time he's won that bracelet.

The $1.5k limit hold 'em event starts today, and that looks like a real glamour field. Should be some pool points there.

Hellmuth just knocked out Vinh (who really bled his chips today), so he's probably pretty close to Luske now. Also, Carli knocked out by Cabanillas.

Good news from pokerwire.com....

ESPN Shows Up for the "Little Big One"
No Limit Hold'em
Jul 06, 2006 / 17:20:00 EDT
This event ($5,000 No-Limit Hold'em) wasn't on ESPN's original schedule, but once they found out Phil Hellmuth would be going for his record-tying tenth bracelet against Vinnie Vinh, Marcel Luske, and Isabelle Mercier, they made things happen.

It's not a full crew, but a skeleton crew. But if history happens, you'll be able to see it on ESPN. And George, the guy who operates the hole cams, was also present. So we should get complete coverage as well.

Play should be underway before too long. Vinnie Vinh starts as the chip leader with 784K, followed by Hellmuth (461K), Marcel Luske (458K), and Isabelle Mercier (301K).

This is pretty impressive from Hellmuth:

Quote:
Hellmuth Takes a Monster Pot Off of Mercier
After the river card is dealt, Isabelle Mercier bets $100,000 and Phil Hellmuth makes the call. Mercier immediately mucks her hand and Hellmuth turns over king high to rake a huge pot. Mercier is down to around $140,000 chips.
