Was down 208k to 82k.

I bet 24k with J9o. He went all-in and I called. He had A4.

Flop came 8TA.

Turn was an 8

River was a K.

I finished 2nd which was good for $445 plus a $108 sat. ticket.

Hell of a night's work -- bummer to come in second though. And rough to finish with cards all around the two you needed.

Nice work. I don't know how you guys handle these late night tournaments. I entered a (free) tourney that the local sports station was hosting on Wednesday without really thinking through the timelines. I wound up finishing fifth (out of 1700+), at about 3:00 in the morning. The wife was extremely impressed, as you might imagine.

Congrats on the great finish!

I am expressly forbidden from entering tourneys during the week now. The last one I went deep in - a 150+12 with 440 entrants on PS - started at 9:30pm and ended for me at 3am and I bubbled the final table.

A buddy of mine just related a nightmare sequence that he went through last night.

He was number two in chips at the final table of a Paradise Poker Tournament
He gets pocket queens raises from the button with two callers(small blind and a limper)
--flop come Q-Rag-Rag...the guy in the small blind goes all in. My buddy calls...the guy turns over a pair of Kings...and Rivers a King.
--That seriously reduced his stack, but he wasnt the small stack by a good margin. The very next hand he is in the small blind, he is dealt pocket kings. One player limps in, and my buddy pushes all in to essentially steal the blinds. The Big Blind calls him, and turns over pocket Aces. The aces held up. The guy eliminated my buddy in two straight hands.

--Not to be dejected he went to the regular $10 no limit tables and quickly turned his $10 into about $70. During what he considered his last round...he is dealt pocket kings. The flop comes K-10-10. Someone in front of him goes all in(almost $60), and my buddy calls(he is visually impaired, and didn't realize the guy had $60). The other turns over A-K. Both the turn and the River bring Aces.

Just not his night.

Was he visually impaired before the hand, or just after he gouged his eyes out after seeing the flop?

He was a bit nervous when he saw that his stack reduced to about $12 after his bet, but when he saw the other guys cards, he was ecstatic. In fact he didn't really pay attention to the turn and river. His first clue that something was awry was that the stack of chips floated over to the other side of table.

He shouldn't have been even slightly nervous about the $60 all-in bet. Only one hand beats him. And there is no way the guy pushes in that big of a bet with quad Ts. He wouldn't want your friend to fold. In that situation I would only be pissed the guy didn't have more money to put into the pot.

My speciality is celebrating a big win, seeing the chips divide in half and float to opposite ends of the table, then furiously trying to figure out why before the cards dissapear.

Heh luckily I have the opposite problem. I geenrally always know when a card hits forcing a split on a hand I would have won. I generally miss it when a card hits that gives me the aplit when I would have lost. So I am pleasnetly surprised when it happens.
