CLAP CLAP CLAP-CLAP-CLAP

They're my true favorite team, so I voted for "Once" in the poll. But also...

Bears: 1985
Bulls: '91, '92, '93, '96, '97, '98

But I don't remember the Bears' victory that well, and I'm a casual basketball fan, so the one that truly meant something to me is this year's Sox.

Oh, and...

Iowa Hawkeyes football or basketball: (tears of sadness)

I get two for the Rockets but that's it. Doesn't help that my NFL team no longer exists (Oilers)

Sixers did it once in the early 80s with the Doctor Julius Erving. The Flyers and Eagles never in my lifetime. I started rooting for Duke in college basketball when they got smack by UNLV and they have won it 3 times. But by far Penn State is my favorite team.

True favorite team eh? I might of misunderstood the question since at the moment, my TRUE favorite team is the Chargers, so I voted NONE. During basketball season, it's the Lakers and during baseball season, I casually follow the Dodgers.

Cardinals- '82 doesn't really count since I was in 2nd grade. But '85 and '87 really let me down. Can't say last year's sweep was anywhere need my disappointment in '85.

Bengals- The '88 season really turned me on to pro football. (And really made me hate Joe Montana) I thought Blake and Pickens would pull one out in the mid '90s, they always did in Tecmo Bowl.

Mizzou Basketball- Does the elite eight count for anything?

Mizzou Football- none. But I have probably seen more coaches come and go than most fans!

Dodgers in 81 and 88 and Avalanche in 2001 are the only ones that really have mattered to me. And, since the Avs win is the only time a championship has made me cry, I'm going to annoint that one the winner.

I started watching sports in the early 80s, and all but one of my teams has won a championship.

Dolphins - I'd gladly trade all the championships won by my other teams for just one here, particularly between 83 and 99.
Hurricanes - 83, 87, 89, 91, 01 (although only the first and last are really satisfying for me now)
Braves - 95
Celtics - 84, 86

In Soccer i'm a Real Madrid fan since i was a kid so i'm used to see them win it all. Have been tons of times at their stadium, etc etc. The same for european basketball where i also support R.Madrid.

In football, well i'm a Dolphins fan and i started to follow football after the Marino era so i'm not used to lots of success.

In the NBA i support Memphis mainly because i started to follow the NBA when Gasol went there.

In Baseball i support the Marlins and saw them win in 2003, not good season this year.

In college sports i don't support any team specially, i enjoy watching any good game. I use to follow the teams i have managed in FBCB or TCY like Miami, Toledo, FIU, Baylor.

I can't say I would trade ALL of them. How about the 89 one for a title for Danny You and others have brought up a good point as to which titles were the most satisfying. Now that I think about it the two most satisfying championships won by my teams were the 83 Hurricanes and the 2003 Marlins.

Pro Hockey- San Jose Sharks- Nope. (Why couldn't the guy who got me into hockey been a Wings fan, like everyone else in this cursed state. )
College Football- Florida State- 1993, 1999
Western- Maybe if they drop to 1-AA
Pro Football- Detroit Lions- HAHAHAHAHA. Right.

(Large gap in interest)

Pistons in basketball, 89-90, 2004, but I only casualy follow the NBA, usually tuning in around the playoffs
Tigers in baseball- too young for 1984, and I'm even less interested in MLB then NBA.

I'm much more of a college sports fan than a pro sports fan

pro championships:
Lakers: 5 total in my lifetime ('87, '88, 2000, 2001, 2002) only the last three count because I don't remember the other ones
Braves: 1 ('95)
49ers: 3 total in my lifetime('88, '89 and '94) only the one in '94 counts though cause I don't remember the other ones

College:
Iowa Hawkeyes: none in the two major sports (that will change if Kirk Ferentz stays) but we have a lot of championships in wrestling.....

(in my time as a fan)

Denver Broncos - 2
St. Louis Cardinals - 1 (I became a fan of the team during the '82 season, even though I was only 5 years old)
New Jersey Devils - 3
Utah Jazz - 0 (JORDAN PUSHED OFF!)
Memphis Grizzlies - 65 ... no, wait. 0
New Orleans VooDoo - 0
UNO basketball - we won't even get back to the tournament if we can't beat UL-Lafayette
Memphis football - 0 (never gonna happen)
Memphis basketball - 0 (highly unlikely to happen)
Tulane football - 0 (even less likely than "never")

I guess I'll have to live with the 6 from the Broncos, Cards, and Devils. I can pretty much count on all three of them getting to the playoffs every year, but I don't expect any more championships for a long time. The hard part is watching my teams lose in the finals or the Super Bowl or whatever. Since I became a fan of the teams, I've watched the Broncos lose three Super Bowls, the Cardinals lose three World Series, the Devils lose one Stanley Cup Final (although I was somewhat happy for Ray Bourque), and the Jazz lose two NBA Finals. At least the Grizzlies won't get to the Finals anytime soon, and the VooDoo is on hiatus. The losses are hard, though.

Though I loves me my Niners ('81, '84, '88, '89, '94), my true favorite team is the San Francisco Giants. And that has been a sad, sad thing.

From the glory days of Will Clark, Candy Maldonado, Chili Davis, Jeffrey Leonard and Matt Williams (among others...I could name off just about anyone. Scott Garelts? Kirt Manwaring? How about Greg Litton?) to the crap that was the mid-nineties (I still have nightmares of William Van Launching Pad and Rikkert Faneyte), to the heartbreaking seasons like 2000 (Lost to the Mets in the first round) and 2003 (Lost to the Marlins in the first round).

2002 never happened.

I've got two teams that I'm genuinely bothered about: the Dolphins haven't won a bean since I started following Marino & the Marks brothers.

Big Leicester City fan - never won a league title in their history (2nd in 1929 is the
closest they've come, but that was a little before my time).

Following Leicester is historically tough - we have a couple of 'quality' statistics: most number of FA Cup finals played without winning the CUP (4), second most Championship victories ever [(6) which means we get relegated a lot as well!]...

But we have never been outside of the top two divisions in our history, have won the League Cup 3 times, and under Martin O'Neill had relative success, being one of only five teams to finish in the top half of the Premiership all four years between 1997-2000, and were only of only five teams to win a trophy during that period (League Cup - twice).

But since then we have had the misfortune of having the managers Peter 'Fuckwit' Taylor ruin the club, and Mickey 'the Muppet' Adams start well, and then operate a footballers' retirement home policy as a substitute for squad building... We now are a mid table rebuilding Championship side...

For an alternative history, written while we were still in the Premiership, look at hxxp://www.mehstg.com/leicest.htm
The facts are unfortunately all right apart from the fact we only lost two play-off finals in a row, not four (we made the play-off final three years straight: losing twice, winning the third; then got relegated again, before immediately getting back to the final and winning again)

U of Washington football: '91 (that looks oh so long ago now in the depths of a 2nd straight awful season)
U of Washington basketball: never (but we're starting to get real good with Romar in charge)

Sonics: '78-79 (I was only 9, but I remember that year and the near miss the year before well)

Seahawks: never (though Holmgren seems to finally have things on the right track)

Mariners: never (man, 2001 was bitter, especially now that we're entering year 3 of the big rebuild)

Tough call. I will go with my first favorite team the Pittsburgh Steelers though. Another team is from my home state, the Iowa Hawkeyes Wrestling team. They won 9 straight NCAA titles in the 70s-80s, and then after a couple years went on another 7 year tear I believe. I am a Man Utd fan as well, but I am not sure what their total silverware tally is.

My true Favorite teams, Only once
LSU Football - 2003
Saints - HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAhahaha ha

Oakland A's have won some championships in my lifetime
LSU baseball mastered an entire decade almost

But baseball always comes after football, hell even after basketball. LSU basketball will hopefully make another run in my lifetime, maybe even soon?
