I like this move. Slow, immobile, past-his-prime QB. Excellent.

This is a great move. Bledsoe has led the eNFL Bills to 3 straight eAFC East titles, and has them on a 4-game winning streak at the moment.

Oh, they signed the REAL Bledsoe? Never mind.

It looks like the signing bonus they're giving him is not very big at all, nothing like what Cleveland or Washington did with Garcia/Brunell. It's said to be a three year deal with a pretty big increase the third year, indicating he'd be cut before then, and Dallas Cowboys.com feels that it's structured for him to be around for two years.

All of that is good. However, by his words at the press conference and what he claims Parcells told him, I have to believe the Cowboys don't see a lot in Drew Henson. Or, at the very least, they see potential but feel that he's a long way off.

That's too bad in my opinion, as I'm of the mind that it's better to groom a young guy that you feel has potential and let him learn from his mistakes. People talk of ruining quarterbacks, but I think if the guy is talented enough, he won't be ruined. Just my $.02

I hear what you're saying and agree. But at the same time, Henson isn't like most rookie or young QB's who have been playing in college for 2-3 years and then enter the pros. I don't think it's a horrible indictment of him that they don't think he's ready yet.

However, I think Parcells will be doing him a huge disservice if he doesn't get him into more games this year so he can start picking up some playing experience. I'd really like to see him get one series a game, if not immediately, towards the end of the year. That would also be valuable in case something happens to Bledsoe and he's forced to start. But sadly, I doubt that will happen.

True enough. I'm just of the impatient variety. I find it better to suffer through the inevitable growing pains (like Aikman's first season) than to continually shuffle through quarterbacks past their prime as a young guy sits the bench and supposedly is mentored. How long does he need to mentor? How many mentors does he need?

I agree that Henson is not like a first round draft pick who comes straight from playing in college. That's why I understood them not throwing him out there last year. But your point about Parcells very rarely giving him a chance in any game is what concerns me most. In my mind, there's only so much a guy can learn by sitting on the bench and watching. Eventually, you have to find out for sure.

I don't want to burst anyones bubble here, but from a Bills fan Bledsoe is done. He had only one half of a good season during his stay in Buffalo. He was a guy who took way to many sacks, and made bad decisions at key moments. He is only good when everything around him is perfect. He is unable to make plays otherwise. He's a nice guy who says all the right things but he will not win you any games.
I feel sorry for any Cowboy fans that are going to have to endure a season with Drew as their QB.................wait, no I don't

No, a Bills fan should never feel sorry for a Cowboys fan. We're the ones who enjoyed the feeling of Superbowl victory. Back to the corner with ye!

My main problem with this move is that Bledsoe likes to stare down field way too long. That's why he is always ending up on his ass because he doesn't know how to get the out quickly to the reciever. He's always looking for the big play when you should be thinking about getting some first downs.
