Why not just come back to IV.19 and try to keep me here?

WEEK 1 PREDICTIONS:

Nocturnal Uni - Pythons 3-2

I'd LOVE for this match to end in a tie. I'm not too sure what to expect from either team here. Both teams have all their starters. Noct did pick up the new coach and new keeper while Brx slightly downgraded his team and is sitting on cash. Noct is at home too. I'm gonna predict Noct barely taking this one.
Fockers - Arsenal A.C. 30-0
I'm mad at this guy and taking him down. Actually it should be slightly closer than that, but we'll see. I really need to start the season off right here. I would be surprized if AAC saves TS here.
Gryndal - Dead Balls 5-1
Gryndal is gonna take this one. Balls sold is #2 middie and his #4 middie has a red card. His #5 isn't too good either so he's in some kaka here. Gryndal at home and with this advantage should take it here folks. I'd be surprized it it went any other way.
Souleaters - Riddle 2-4
If Riddle PIC's this match, he needs to be careful because of low TS. Soul will surprize a few teams this season or at least give a few of us a good scare. Riddles midfield advantage should help him out quite a bit.
Good luck to everyone this week. Get lotsa red cards and injuries.

Sorry Nate, stole your formatting cause it just looked so purdy.

Nocturnal Uni - Pythons 4-1

Nocturnal has homefield advantage and will need it to win. This game should be close but I think HT will give him a few extra goals.

Fockers - Arsenal A.C. 3-2

AAC has Fockers number with an overpowering 5-1-2 record vs him and an impressive 2-1-1 record on Fockers home pitch. He will give Fockers another scare and will win if Nate gets anyone redcarded. (Refer to 8/2/04)

Gryndal - Dead Balls 4-3

We've played 2 tight games so far, both would have resulted in ties except in the 2nd match I caught a couple SP goals. Balls midfield is a little short right now, but will his new wingers be enough to keep this one tight?

Souleaters - Riddle 1-6

Riddle bends Souleaters over and really gives it to him, and doesn't even give him a reach around. Unless Soul decides to play spoilers and goes MOTS, in which case it will be 2-5.

Nocturnal Uni - Pythons 2-3
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A close game, but I think I can squeeze by with a win. This would be a very nice start to the season, but this game really could go either way, with a draw a distinct possibility also.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fockers - Arsenal A.C. 4-1
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I know AAC has had Fockers number, but I don't see that continuing. I would be surprised with anything less than a multi-goal victory for Fockers.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gryndal - Dead Balls 3-1
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is Gryndal's game. With a red card to one of Balls IM's, I think Gryndal controls possesion and the game. It will be interesting to see if Balls new wings can make any impact in the game.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Souleaters - Riddle 0-4
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The first game in IV for both teams. Riddle should control the game from the start and be able to have enough possesion for their attack to push 3-4 past Soul's U20 keeper.

Interesting first week:

Pythons almost get blown out.
Fockers lose by 1 to AAC.
Riddle and Souleaters was way closer than anticipated.
And I beat Balls by the virtue of his carded middie.

Also there were lots of injuries this week. Several key people are out on different teams, could cost someone an early exit from cup play.

Edited to add, as a series we had an average of a 198.5 rating. Should be close to 1st in the US for div IV.

This week sucked like no week has ever sucked before. My team's form was miserable to start with, and then I lose 2 midfielders in a matter of minutes???? I had my backup d-mid playing midfield alongside my backup middie and my starter, that's just ridiculous. I'm shocked I didn't lose by more.

Week 2 predictions, get yours in before Sunday!

Dead Balls - Nocturnal United 2-4
One of Balls' big middies is still out he won't be able to hold on vs a healthy Nocturnal team.

Riddle - Fockers 1-3
Match of the week in my opinion. Riddle hasn't shown an ability to score many goals, this game should prove if he's a contender or a pretender.

Pythons - Souleaters 4-1
Brx coming off his reelection takes out his frustrating first round loss to Nocturnal on Souleaters.

Arsenal A.C. - Gryndal 2-2
My team has gone through some major change in the past few days, this game will be a good test to see if those changes were for the good or bad. The winner of this match will be setting themselves up nicely for the end of the season standings.

Dead Balls - Nocturnal United 0-3
-I should win easily, but then again I could get Focker'd and get some injuries and red card or two...

Riddle - Fockers 3-2
-Homefield advantage is huge in this match... Riddle can play with anyone and he'll grab a goal advantage with homefield...

Pythons - Souleaters 4-0
-Pythons should cruise to an easy win, he probably can't afford to PIC yet though...

Arsenal A.C. - Gryndal 2-3
-I'm going to go with Gryndal on this one... Impressive first week should carry over to this week. Both these teams will probably decide the league by knocking off someone...

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't most disappointed with only a tie in my match, but as I said in my predictions at the beginning of the season.. AAC often wins matches he shouldn't, in this case he didn't win but was able to steal 2 points from me. Oh well, can't dwell on it too much, time to get ready for cup & Riddle.

Kinda late, but better late than never I suppose.

Fockers - Pythons 4-2
I think Fockers is due for a win, being home could help him find that against the Pythons.

Gryndal - Riddle 2-3
Both teams are undefeated on the season but this will likely be the end of my unbeaten streak of 11 games in a row, especially if Riddle goes all apeshit and puts up ratings like he did last week.

Dead Balls - Arsenal A.C. 1-3
AAC continues to march on in the series as Dead Balls struggles seem to just be beginning.

Souleaters - Nocturnal United 0-5
Souleaters ... what can I really say, they are a decent V team that is in one of, if not the best IV series. Nocturnal wins easy.

AAC has clearly made some sort of a deal with the devil. I'm up 2-0 in the first half, then lose a defender and he scores two goals in the second half (one of which was on the side of the field where my lost wingback was) and gets a tie. In my 6 matches this season, I've yet to see one end with my entire first team still on the field.

I hate this game sometimes, probably could have won if my confidence wasn't in the crapper from not scoring at all against Brx. Guess I have to take out my aggression on Captwaz and hopefully score....

Frankly, I would've been kind of dissapointed if he WASN'T injured since it seems to be the theme of the season, but 6 weeks seems like overkill. A red card would have been cooler.

Also, it screwed up my plan since I wanted to see if matching midfield ratings with a CA team actually worked. When he had to come out, one of my starters came in, thus raising my MF ratings so I'm not sure how it worked. He only had one CA attempt on me, so I guess that was ok.

The Gargs have left the tournament. With bad form and a PIC, I knew I was ripe for the upset. I got better ratings, but my PIC vs. his MOTS didn't bode well for me.

One legend has fallen and another is soon to follow.

Fockers have passed The Mad Hulligans to take over 2nd place in the series for most points. The teams as of now have played the same number of matches in IV.19, however Fockers has a 1 point advantage.

Another legend and my hero Lytic how is currently in 5th is about to be surpassed by Arsenal A.C.

It truely is a sad day in IV.19 as we remember these fallen series heroes.

You mean that one legend has taken over.. and by the way things look.. it appears I will surpase RH before I get outta this series.

In other news.. we were once again 2nd in IV this week, but still remain in 1st. Balls and Pythons held our series together while the rest of us were slackers. Good Job slackers.

Seems to me, I have the best shot to keep our series alive in the cup. Lets hope I can win.

Lots of big moves have been made this season, Riddle has sold off 2 big middies, Fockers sold off some middies and forwards.

At the halfway point there is a 3 way points tie for first with everyone else 3+ points behind so nothing has even remotely been decided this season, except that Souleaters will be heading back to V. Unfortunately the Div V he came from was rather weak and didn't help to keep him down long enough before he promoted, Aidan's Aces the team he replaced is currently undefeated.

So I guess the race has just started, every position is still up for grabs and we'll likely see some place changing every week. Second half of the season, here we come.

Well, looking at the rest of the season, my prospects for nabbing 6th aren't too terrible. I think it's entirely possible that AAC won't win another game (although I've said that one before, so who the hell knows), which would mean I'd only need two wins, against Souleaters and AAC, although that could mean trouble in the final week since I won't be able to PIC against Gryndal unless he's got nothing to play for (and even then I'd be worried about risking it). Although I can PIC against Nocturnal the week before so that should help. I've got 2 sure losses against Pythons and NU, 1 "sure" win against Souleaters, and 3 maybe's of varying degrees against Riddle, Gryndal, and AAC. I think if I win the AAC one I'm in, any more than that and I'm a sure thing.

It really sucks though; last season I wouldn't have felt so bad about falling back to V because my team really wasn't good enough and lucked out against SPC in the qualifier, but I feel like my team is so much better this season and I just got some awful luck early on that put me in a hole. I'd love to get another chance next season to legitimately compete in IV.19 (not for promotion, obviously, I'm still a ways away from consistantly pulling the type of ratings that NU and Pythons can pull) without having to claw my way out of the 7-8 spots.

It is rather discouraging to know that we are still fighting to stick around even though we both improved 30~ in hatstats ratings average over last season. I do think this is the season that AAC finally stops overachieving and gets dropped down to V. He's been able to stick around way too long with no real training program and a bunch of fluke wins.

Have been measuring things up and figure I need at least 3 wins to secure a top 5 position, now the question is where those wins come from.

Edit: I was really hoping to win the second half of the Noct double header, but him having his middie back and buying that new winger pretty much shot that idea.
