hehe, you are two funny little misters

You're only a little off, it's about 5.50, but only because the Canadian Pesos has gained on the US dollar in the last year

FM
PS: and wow, on to the second page already, definitely surpassed my first two attempts at a dynasty

and there's already some strong interest for Bakels. Four bids already, from 2k to 4k to 30k to 32k, in C$... Me thinks these people have all bookmarked him and may fight for him come Monday morning... Me likes that

training time!!!

The team did extra laps this week, in the hope of raising stamina for the few players that still need it. I knew in advance there were limited possibilities for this kind of training, but still wanted to train stamina as some wingers have fairly bad stamina...

Training
Here's where middies, wingers and offensive centrebacks stood before the update, in terms of stamina...

Already at excellent:
Jon Riser (IM, brilliant playmaking)
Patrik Kvarning (IM, brilliant playmaking)
Hubert Gortemaker (IM, outstanding playmaking)
Reimund Brigg (OCB/IM, formidable playmaking)
Gheorghe Bănică (W, passable playmaking)

Currently at solid:
Reuven Zaltzman (OCB/IM, excellent playmaking)

Currently at passable:
Miao Thanh-Tuan (IM, formidable playmaking)

Currently at inadequate:
Marcus Hansson (W, excellent playmaking)
Jim Hendrix (W, weak playmaking)
Jackie Cherry (IM/ADD therapy, inadequate playmaking)

Currently at weak:
Sergio Chapin (W, passable playmaking)
Kristoffer Bjerre (W, passable playmaking)

At a glance, that was 6 players in need of some stamina upgrade... Here's what happened...

Zaltzman popped 1 level to excellent
-- nice
Thanh-Tuan popped 1 level to solid
-- not bad, but was hoping for more since he had not popped in last offseason's stamina training
Hansson popped 2 levels to solid
-- VERY nice!!! this really reinforces his position as the winger of the future for the Dragons.
Hendrix popped 1 level to passable
-- don't care much for now, since he's only got weak playmaking, but he's already 57% done toward his inadequate level, so one day stamina will count for him
Chapin AND Bjerre BOTH stayed at weak stamina
-- The ones who needed it most didn't care at all and kept smoking in the boys room in between cross country running sessions Chapin will be with the team through next season, so he'll have the chance to train his stamina a little, but Bjerre just popped to passable playmaking, and being that he is very close to popping to formidable winger at age 20, he will be transfer listed as soon as he pops in winger. Now this weak stamina may turn off many potential buyers... bleh...

oh, and freak slow learner Jackie Cherry also popped two levels to solid stamina, woohoo!!! NOW YA FREAK LEARN TO MAKE SOME PLAYS!!!! At least if he ever pops to passable playmaking, he'll have some stamina to at least make him worth something to a newbie team...

We also had a bunch of other players who popped in stamina, but who cares... The two players with lowest stamina in the whole team are Chapin and Bjerre, which is kind of sad...

Form
Despite doing some evil stamina training, form held up pretty well.

players form up3
players form down-3
net0
form levels up3
form levels down-4
net form change-1

Starters going up: IM Riser (1), F Juanda (1)
Starter going down: F Andersson (1)
The two-level dropper is backup keeper François Boisclair, and he is ready to see his form drop even more, as he shouldn't see the field until we're out of the Cup. In other notes, Jimi Hendrix popped to weak form, up from poor, which is good news.

Now we just have to hope it won't lag a the whole won't get hit by a nasty form drop of the delayed kind. We shal see...

Value Changes
This is a bit tidy to keep track of with the new TSI. I'll try to start using the TSI from now on, but it's even weirder in my eyes that it would be for most of you, since the ratio is 200 for 1, compared to C$...

nb value up13
nb value down7
TSI value up2290
TSI value down-1140
net value change1150

This little jump up keeps the team upward of the 80k TSI mark, or above the 8M U$ mark...

heehee, welcome aboard SI

I'm currently working on some sort of easy to post match report, where I'd pull all the match info straight from my excel spreadsheet. I should have something ready over the weekend and I'll post a preview for you all to comment on at that point...

Also to come, my take on III.15, some prediction, or what I hope my team will be able to do in season 23

lottery pull...

We were hosting my parents and sister tonight, for a father's day grill dinner. I told myself I wouldn't sneak to the computers, faking a trip to the bathroom, to go and make my youth pull, the so call lottery pull... I was a good host and just got online, 1 minute after the last guest had left the house.

I was thinking the HT Gods, seeing how I was a good host, would reward me... SCREW YOU HT GODS!!!!!

Here's the fella...

Denver Rubin (35550108)
19 years, passable form, healthy
A controversial person who is temperamental and dishonest.
Has disastrous experience and poor leadership abilities.

Nationality: Canada
Total Skill Index (TSI): 440 (88 000 C$)
Wage: 1 440 C$/week
Owner: Cerio's Dragons FC
Warnings: 0

Stamina: passable Goaltending: disastrous
Playmaking: wretched Passing: solid
Winger: weak Defending: poor
Scoring: wretched Set Pieces: poor

First, ge's 19 years old. Second, a fella solid in a secondary skill with no primary skill to go with, bleh... In the old system, I might have thought about transfer listing him, hoping somebody would train him up and I'd get some mother club money, but now...

I'll see if I list him or not...

Global birthday, salary update...

Happy birthday to you...

This is the time of the season where all the players age and see their wage be adjusted. Uncertainty everywhere, following the new rules regarding wage changes. I had hopes of seeing some saving here and there, since many of my players have good double secondaries, and my whole team's stamina level is farily high, since I train playmaking and I used to train stamina for two weeks per season... Let's take a look at the whole picture...

All figures in C$.

Players with names in red are players that got significant training time this season, mostly in playmaking, but some of them also saw training in winger skill. As you can see, the main two trainees, Riser and Kvarning, saw their wages increase significantly, which was expected of brilliant playmaker who were only formidable at the end of last season.

The players with green variation numbers are players that took the most advantage of the new rules. Among them, God, with his solid scoring/solid passing, but he may have also taken a hit because of decreasing skills due to age. Reimund Brigg was the prototypical player to get help from the new rules. Formidable playmaker with both solid passing AND defending, his salary was cut to less than half his previous wage, despite being trained up from excellent playmaking during the course of the season...

All in all, I'm quite happy with this update.

I wasn't so happy with that line though:
Quote:

Bleh, I hate the beginning of the season when people are so negative... At least they had just paid their seasonal membership, you DUMBASS!!!

The sale of Bakels was a bit disappointing, especially after seeing all the action he was receiving early on. Looks like when the deadline happened, nobody was around to fight for him... Anyway, I had bought him 438 000 C$ for him a while ago and he has played 22 competitive matches for the Dragons, not too bad...

Raul, well, I had paid 14 000 C$ and I'm getting back the exact same amount, minus agent fees of course. While he has only played 10 competitive matches, since he got quickly outclassed by more experienced defenders, he was still a good help to the team...

This is I would usually add some comment about what happened in the game, what I expected, my frustrations, anything...

Pay attention to how the ratings for my opponent are matched with were they should interact with my team. The number in the middle is the differential. If it's red, the Dragons are winning the battle, if it's blue, our opponent is on top. The percentages are easily done by taking one team's rating divided by the sum of both teams rating in that category. I however only present the percentage of the team on top, the other one being easy to deduct by subtracting the top one from 100%...

For now, I'm using the scale I presented in another thread, with which "disastrous (very low)"=1, "disastrous (low)"=1.25, "disastrous (high)"=1.50, and so on. I think the "very low" being at the rounded integer makes it easy to follow... I'll probably adjust my ratings with what will become the norm when somebody will step up, HATStats maybe...

Anyway, this is what I have for now, your comments are welcome. You like it? Hate it? It's unreadable? let me know...

Do you realize we've played something like 7 friendlies against one another?!? It's nothing short of a miracle you only killed one of my trainees in the process...

Alf, I'm still doing research on it. Can't remember if I stated this in here, but my winger training plans were not to go on forever. I'm planning on training Hansson to a fairly high level, titanic or close to that with outstanding playmaking, at which point I had planned to switch to scoring training. Having an outstanding playmaker at wing, with an outstanding playmaker at offensive centreback is what I think I'll need to play an effective 3-4-3 in scoring training mode. This news of wage increase for wingers would simply reinforce my idea of switching to scoring, may even make it before Hansson hits titanic winger...

Sorry for being kind of vague about it, as I said, I'm still doing some research about it...

Found this from the post where I introducted my training program...

Quote:
Some will say this is not optimal in terms of profits, I say: "maybe" I'm doing it cause I wanted to try it. I didn't really feel like starting over a whole new batch of playmaking trainee and when I saw that I could have two world class playmakers who would be only 22yo and would stay with my team almost forever, I told myself "what the heck". That winger training thing may only last another three season, until when Hansson, my future superstar winger turns world class or supernatural winger with outstanding playmaking and I can start training scoring with a killer 3-4-3... okay, one thing at a time, I'm getting exited here, sorry As you can see, and I hope you can feel it, I'm sort of passionate about my team. I guess that's what they call an addiction

As I said, this news may simply reinforce my idea that scoring training will be the way to go for the Dragons in the future...

quick comment: I don't know who, don't really want to know, but two of my readers have felt that this dynasty was worthy of a 5 stars ratings, wow, thanks!

I had to go back and read the 2004 Golden Scribe thread to see you made the presentation of that prize to understand why you would say that

Well, there have been some good dynasties using graphics but I have yet to see one that really takes it to the next level with the WYSIWYG. Someone will do it, but I'm not sure who or when. Whenever I get back to the Hippos, I'm certainly taking a stab at it. However, I don't know when that will be.

I'm not sure I'll take it to the next level, but I gotta that without the WYSIWYG editor, I probably would have given up already It makes it so much easier, starting with some very simple copy/paste from the HT site, then moving on to some stuff pulled from an excel spreadsheet...

Well, exactly. You can do so much now because you can cut and past from so many applications like Excel and webpages. Someone will put this all together to make something really cool and you're well on your way.

I have modified the match report a bit, made it a wee bit less wide so you don't have to scroll from left to right to be able to read everything in there...

Let me know what you think...

Season 23 fast approaching...

With the Cup kicking off tomorrow night, season 23 is coming to us... I have not finished my analysis of everybody in III.15, so this will have to wait a little.

However, to wet your appetite a little, here are the games the Dragons will play this season. In parenthesis is the average NSI of the team, based on the old rankings. I pulled it from HATStats, so I have to go with old ratings. My complete analysis of III.15 will be based on the new ratings though...

Here we go...

HOME AWAY
week 1 04-03-07 Cerio's Dragons FC (78.1) Sackers (75.9)
week 2 04-03-14 SD's Boys (95.2) Cerio's Dragons FC (78.1)
week 3 04-03-21 Cerio's Dragons FC (78.1) podiatrists (99.8)
week 4 04-03-28 Cerio's Dragons FC (78.1) max calcio (87.3)
week 5 04-04-04 Nepean United (94.2) Cerio's Dragons FC (78.1)
week 6 04-04-11 Cerio's Dragons FC (78.1) OFV Goose Bay (71.1)
week 7 04-04-18 Thoroughbreds (94.1) Cerio's Dragons FC (78.1)
week 8 04-04-25 Cerio's Dragons FC (78.1) Thoroughbreds (94.1)
week 9 04-05-02 OFV Goose Bay (71.1) Cerio's Dragons FC (78.1)
week 10 04-05-09 Cerio's Dragons FC (78.1) Nepean United (94.2)
week 11 04-05-16 max calcio (87.3) Cerio's Dragons FC (78.1)
week 12 04-05-23 podiatrists (99.8) Cerio's Dragons FC (78.1)
week 13 04-05-30 Cerio's Dragons FC (78.1) SD's Boys (95.2)
week 14 04-06-06 Sackers (75.9) Cerio's Dragons FC (78.1)

As you can already see, it may end up being a three way fight for the #6 spot... more to come whenever I'm done with my analysis of III.15...

Hey, FM, isn't it true the canadians could stop supporting the dragon's and youd' still be the most supported team in canada.

yes, it's not a rumour, it's true If Canadians stopped supporting me, I'd still have 24 supporters, still 7 ahead of the #2 team
