Any of you have a fast server that I can grab the massive client from? CoH's main site is just ridiculously slow.

I'm downloading the game now, hoping to join up this evening. Glad to hear everyone is enjoying the game - it had fallen off my radar over the last year or so while watching early guesses at release date slide by.

I'll be playing one of two characters once I actually get going.

Aestus, the Fire Sword wielding Tank of Doom.

And...Coffee Warlord, the blazing fast...something, powered by caffeine!

I have to admit, the game is fun. How long the fun can last I'm not sure. But there is nothing like running down the street with a posse of tights-wearing maniacs ready to beat ass. If they add new content fairly often, I can see this game being a winner.

And you could have one for the low, low cost of $50 plus $15 a month.

In almost every RPG, I tend to be the cleric or paladin like character who ends up being a healer or the guy who gets to play meaty shield. Man, This is really tempting once the semester is over...

Taking a break from el game now.

This is an entirely refreshing change from the usual online games. It's prolly not gonna have long term playability (3 months or so of gameplay, is my guess), but it's a freakin' blast. If you have some extra cash laying around, get your ass on.

...as a bonus, you can watch me set myself on fire. I do it often.

I haven't really been here much because I have been kicking nazi tail on the Virtue server with Fozzie and company. Well ok I really haven't met up with him yet, but I do play on that server. I am Shalalagh a Gravity Controling Storm Summoner. So far I am level 12, and I whole heartedly agree that this game rocks. It is a wonderful change of pace from other MMORPGs. I am having a ball, and pissing off the wife.(and I have a very understanding wife).

In any case any of you on Virtue post your names here. It would be great to get together sometime. Anyone start the FoFC super group?

Mmm hmm.

Alright. So here's the thing. I log on, there's Fozzie. I group up with him and a bunch of other people. We kill things. It is good.

Now. Our beloved Fozzie takes it upon himself to run straight at not one, not two, but oh, around a dozen fairly difficult enemies. By himself. In approximatly 2 seconds, his ass is on the floor. Needless to say, we give him a little shit, and that's that.

Of course, when he proceeds to perform the Fozzie Death Charge approximatly half a dozen times during the course of our killing spree, one has to wonder just what in the holy hell thiis sick fuck is thinking. Let's go back and take a look at one of these moments in CoH history!

Fozz: "Evil lurks ahead! Slay them!"
Group: "Indeed! Is everyone read...."
Fozz: "ROARRRRRR!"
Fozz: *splat*
Group: "..."
Group: *proceed to calmly and cooly Slay Evil, with the body of their insane friend on the ground*

Ahh, a model superhero, that Fozz. I can already hear children whispering the name of the legendary Doomed Superhero.

Hoping to catch up with you guys sometime tomorrow. Mostly went solo tonight, although I had a run with Thomkal and someone else (don't have the hero/FOFC name chart handy) for about 30 minutes. Getting ready to leave the friendly confines of Atlas as I'm approaching level 6. The game is getting much more interesting now that my dude with zero range attacks is getting better at hand-to-hand.

OK I'll be out there playing this afternoon. I'll either be Shalalagh(level 12 controller) or Chernobyl 235(level 5 defender). I also made a scrapper named Claimore and a Blaster Caoimhe. Both of them just fresh from the tutorial. I am gonna have to make a list of all your guys handles so I can friend ya.

I forgot to mention the other day one of the coolest innovations they came up with for this game. The sidekick. A higher level hero(over level 11), can ask any other hero to be their sidekick. No matter what level the lower level hero is, they temporarilly become one level lower than the hero they are 'kicking for. They get all the hitpoints of that level, and the powers they have perform at that higher level. They still gain experience, it is just reduced to the amount of experience someone their actual level would be getting. I don't know if I explained that well enough for you to understand, but the point is that if someone starts the game and has a friend with a character in the teens they can play together.

In any case I will start making a list, and be out looking for folks this afternoon say 2:00 Pacific.
