For posterity, here is the current structure of the Big East
Some of the traditional powers, but also some of the up and comes from around the east coast. St. Bonny, whiloe unranked has built there program up tremendously and has been to a few final fours in the past.

Great dynasty, Marmel.
Good luck at Syracuse! What does their history look like? Also, can you update us on Oklanhoma and that #1 class? |

Binghamton (0-0) at #24 Syracuse (0-0) Our offense came out and gave the fans a great show in the season opener. The final score was 113-52! Whiteney was the biggest offensive star of the day, scoring 29 points. Quick flashed all his skills, scoring 19 and handing out 10 assists. Alanis had 21 points from the Center position and Scalise and Wing both scored in double figures as well.
Like most sports sims, the early season polls are not very accurate, as we jump all the way up to #4. November 20, 2036 Colgate (0-1) at #4 Syracuse (1-0) We are tuning up with a few cupcakes early on before our OOC gets a bit tougher. This one was like an exhibition as we roll, 101-36. Whitney lit up the scoreboard for an impressive 41 points. Quick had 14 assists. Alanis, Scalise and Ford all scored in double figures.
Starting PF Jack Medlin will miss close to 3 weeks due to injury. I think we will sub Freshman Center, Alfonso Horst into his spot for now. We have slipped down to #13 in the latest media poll. November 24, 2036 #13 Syracuse (2-0) vs. Texas (1-0) We head out to Hawaii for the Maui invitational tournament. We take care of the 7 seeded Longhorns in the first round, 93-82. It gets tough from here on out as this tournament is loaded with good teams. Whitney had 24 points to lead us to victory while Alanis had 18. Freshman Horst did OK in his starting debut. He scored 8 and had 6 rebounds.
November 25, 2036 #13 Syracuse (3-0) vs. #9 Kentucky (4-0) Kentucky is the 3 seed in this tournament. The game was a wild shootout, but we had the ball last, converted the bucket and took the 101-99 victory! Whitney continues to shine. He had 33 points today. Alanis had a great game with 22 points and 14 rebounds. Horst pulled in a dozen boards of his own. Quick handed out 13 assists.
November 26, 2036 #13 Syracuse (4-0) vs. #2 Utah State (3-0) Utah State were the national champs in both 2030 and 2031. They were a final four team last season. Let’s see how we match up. Well, apparently not too good. We could not buy a basket and got killed as well as embarrassed, 79-31.
November 30, 2036 Albany (1-0) at #13 Syracuse (4-1) We shake off that bad loss in the Maui Finals and our offense rolls again in a 101-76 victory. Whitney poured in 22 points to lead the team on offense today. Alanis scored 15 to go along with his 12 rebounds. Horst and Quick were the other starters in double digits, and Ford added 11 off the bench.
November Recap We are ranked #18 in the latest media poll. We also filled up our entire recruiting class in November! SG Victor Ceballos, from Lakewood, CA, has committed to Syracuse. Vic is a 5 star recruit! A dangerous scorer from anywhere. A dangerous defender. A great ball passer. Is it any wonder heis the #2 recruit in the country this year?
PF Lindsay Marchand, from Winnetka, IL, has committed to Syracuse. Lindsay is a 4 star recruit. I am just as happy with him as I am with Victor. The guy is a perfect PF for me. He can score inside, rebound on both sides of the court and gets down on defense!
Standings
We are doing fine here. Our only loss comes to the #2 team in the country and that was on the road in our third straight game in 3 days. Top 25

Columbia (1-2) at #18 Syracuse (5-1) We cruise at home against this inferior opponent. Whiteney put up another 24 points. Alanis was right behind him with 22 points. Scalise added 14 with 9 assists, and Quick and 9 points and 10 assists.
We have moved up to #13 in the polls. December 11, 2036 Villanova (2-4) at #13 Syracuse (6-1) Villanova put up a good fight. They are not quite as bad as their record would seem, but we put them away in the end, 88-76. Whitney led us again, today he scored 24. Quick added 13 and Wing had a dozen off the bench.
We are now ranked #12 in the country. December 16, 2036 Hartford (3-4) at #12 Syracuse (7-1) Hartford is trying to adjust to big time hoops in the Pac 10, and are struggling a bit. We add to their problems with a 90-59 win over them. Whitney had 34 today. Wing came off the bench and was just short of a triple double. He had 9 points, 10 assists and 11 rebounds! Medlin was back in our lineup and he scored 17 along with 13 rebounds.
Mid Month Recap We have moved all the way up to #6 in the polls!
We still have only that 1 loss on our record. Top 25

Providence (5-4) at #6 Syracuse (8-1) We welcome back an old friend to the Carrier Dome, and then smack them around to the tune of 88-63. All 5 of our starters scored in double figures today, led by Whitney with 19 and Scalise with 18. Medlin had 10 boards to go along with his 10 points.
The bad news is that Whitley will miss a month of the season now, due to a torn Abdominal muscle. Wing will step into his starting spot and we should be just fine. December 28, 2036 Manhattan (5-4) at #6 Syracuse (9-1) We pick up our tenth win of the season by dominating this game start to finish. The final score was 108-68. Alanis was the offensive start today. Nobody could stop him down low as he poured in 32 points. Scalise had a great day with 26 and Wing stepped into the starter’s roll and had 24 points along with 9 assists.
Backup Clifton Julien will miss a month of action due to a broken arm. December Recap
We are just about ready to begin league play! Top 25

Duke (6-5) at #6 Syracuse (10-1) This must be a home and home that was scheduled by the last coach here. Either way, it is always fun beating up on Duke. We take this one 73-65. Alanis is coming on strong and leads us in scoring for the second straight game with 21 points. Scalise, Quick and Wing all scored in double figures as well.
We moved up to #5 in the latest polls. January 6, 2037 #8 Kentucky (11-2) at #5 Syracuse (11-1) This must be another holdover game from last year’ schedule. We really get to test our mettle before league play begins. Not a great performance on the defense today as we give up over 100 points and lose, 102-84. Alanis scored 17 and had 13 rebounds. Scalise tied him for the team lead in points with 17 as well.
January 10, 2037 #5 Syracuse (11-2) at Hofstra (7-5) We open up Big East play with our first real road game of the year. Both teams struggled to score all day long, but our defense was a bit better and we take this one 54-45. Medlin scored 16 and grabbed 12 boards to garner POTG honors. Quick added 11 for us.
We drop to #8 in the polls. January 14, 2037 #18 Notre Dame (11-4) at #8 Syracuse (12-2) In this early season showdown that pits two of the better teams from the West Division, we take the win by a fair margin, 96-73. Alanis led the team in scoring with 25 points and also grabbed 10 rebounds. Medlin also had a double, double, with 12 points and 11 boards. Scalise had 17 and Whitney returned to action, off the bench with 13.
Mid Month Recap We are back up to #6 in the polls. Whitney is fully healed and will return to the starting lineup. Wing will return to the 6th man spot.
Great start to the Big East schedule. Our only two losses have come to highly ranked teams. Top 25

West Virginia (9-5) at #6 Syracuse (13-2) We take care of business at home, just as we should, with a 90-62 beating of the Mountaineers. Whitney returns the starting lineup and leads the team in offense like he never missed a beat. He had 26. Quick added 20 from the point guard spot. Our other 3 starters all scored in double figures as well.
January 24, 2037 Western Kentucky (11-3) at #6 Syracuse (14-2) W. Kentucky was ranked early in the year, so we expect a good fight out of them. They don’t live up to the hype though and we squash them, 84-62 to remain perfect in the Big East. Whitney led us again with 18 points today. Scalise and Alanis each scored in double figures and Medlin had 12 boards.
We move up 1 spot to #5 in the polls. January 28, 2037 #5 Syracuse (15-2) at Niagara (5-11) We take this game way too lightly and it comes back to bite us with a 99-73 beating. That hurt the pride. Whitney scored 22 in the losing effort. Medlin and Quick both scored in double figures as well, barely.
January 31, 2037 #5 Syracuse (15-3) at Western Kentucky (12-4) We lay another egg on the road here, and lose our second straight game, 105-98. Whitney had a fine game with 38 points and Medlin had 25 and 10 boards, but we just couldn’t get enough from the rest of the guys, while the defense was non-existant.
January Recap
We are still in good shape in the West Division, but we need to pick up some road wins now. Top 25

Hofstra (10-9) at #10 Syracuse (15-4) We get back to basics and win this one easily at home, 104-69. Whitney is heating up now. He scored another 38 points today. Scalise added 18 and Alanis had 15 for us.
February 4, 2037 #10 Syracuse (16-4) at West Virginia (9-9) We finally pick up a road win in conference with a 74-63 victory today. Whitney led us with 17 while Scalise was right there with 16 points. Wing added 13 off the bench.
February 11, 2037 Seton Hall (16-7) at #9 Syracuse (17-4) After a week off from play, we feel refreshed and win a game against a solid Pirates team, 79-66. Whitney led the way with 18 points while Medlin had 17 and 10 boards. Scalise added 10 points to the winning effort.
February 14, 2037 #9 Syracuse (18-4) at Pittsburgh (9-12) Our road roads sneak back up on us today as we drop this one 87-82. Whitney and Medlin had 19 and 18 points respectively, while Alanis added 10.
Mid Month Recap
We are 2 games up in the loss column in the West Division, but trail in the overall race for the top seed. Top 25

St. Bonaventure (15-9) at #9 Syracuse (18-5) It is a shame this Bonny team is not ranked. They play good ball and took us to the limit, but we pulled it out at home 88-86. Whitney carried us with 30 points on the day. Wing added 13 off the bench and Alanis had 11.
February 21, 2037 Niagara (10-13) at #9 Syracuse (19-5) We get back at Niagara for a loss earlier n the season. The final here was 95-80. Whitney continues to lead us to victory. He had 24 today. Wing came off the bench with 15 and Scalise had 14. Quick and Alanis each scored 11.
February 25, 2037 #9 Syracuse (20-5) at Siena (9-15) A shootout in Siena today, and thankfully we come out on the right side of the 106-101 score. Whitney put up a game high 34 points. Medlin scored 16 to go along with his 10 boards. Scalise had 18 and Quick 10.
February 28, 2037 Pittsburgh (10-15) at #9 Syracuse (21-5) Pitt put up a good fight be we won out in the end, 85-76. Whitney had 21 to lead us. Medlin scored 15 along with 11 boards and Alanis scored 15 as well. Scalise chipped in with 12.
February Recap
We played a great second half of February and are in great shape to take the #1 overall seed. We have 2 very tough road games to play though. Top 25

#7 Syracuse (22-5) at Notre Dame (17-12) We really struggle to win on the road and take a 111-96 loss here today. Whitney had 36 to lead us, and our two big guys combined for 32, but it was our defense that cost us this game.
March 7, 2037 #7 Syracuse (22-6) at #4 Vanderbilt (23-4) A tight game the whole way, but we let it slip away late and close out the regular season with 2 straight losses. The final here was 91-88. Whitney had another fine game with 30 points today.
Final Standings
Those last two losses almost costed us the 2 seed, but we had just enough wins to take it. Top 25 March 12, 2037 (2) #10 Syracuse (22-7) vs. (7) #12 Temple Man, what a brutal first round game, and a heck of a 7 seed! We bow out right away with a 87-77 loss.
Vanderbilt beats Temple for the Big East Tournament Title!

Post Season
We get the 3 seed in the Mid West Region in the NCAA tournament. We will face the 14 seed, UMKC. March 19, 2037 (3) #11 Syracuse (22-8) vs. (14) UMKC (21-10) We come into the tournament losing 2 straight. The week layoff should give us fresh legs and a clear head. Our defense dominates and our offense does enough to get us the 76-46 first round victory. Whitney led us with 24 points and alanis was the POTG for his 20 point, 10 rebound performance.
March 21, 2037 (3) #11 Syracuse (23-8) vs. (6) Evansville (23-10) I don’t know much about this team, but with our talent, if we play our game, we should take them and advance to my first ever Sweet 16. But of course, I cannot escape my destiny in this dynasty. We lose this one 96-81, and flop out in the second round, again.

Off Season
Our prestige remained level at 84 and the AD is still satisfied with my performance. Our recruiting class was ranked #4 in the country. Illinois had the #1 ranked class. Here is a quick recap of Hartford and Oklahoma from last year: Hartford really struggled after moving up the PAC 10 and had a miserable 9-19 season. They were promptly demoted the Mountain West Conference. Michigan is also in that conference and they have been an NIT team for the last 2 seasons. Oklahoma went 18-13 last year and lost in the first round of the NCAA tournament. They red shirted all but 2 of my 5 recruits, and those guys did not see too much playing time. They followed up my #1 class with the #19 class, so they should be improving year by year. Here is a Syracuse Team History page for those who have inquired: Syracuse Historical Performances Season W L CW CL Rank RPI Prs Result -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2036 23 9 11 5 14 15 84 Loss in NCAA Tourney Round 2 2035 20 12 10 6 24 24 85 Loss in NCAA Tourney Round 1 2034 19 14 8 8 40 52 87 Loss in NCAA Tourney Round 1 2033 21 11 10 6 17 29 90 Loss in NCAA Tourney Round 2 2032 28 8 13 3 16 18 90 Loss in NCAA Tourney Round 2 2031 24 13 11 5 14 14 90 Loss in NCAA Sweet Sixteen 2030 25 10 10 6 11 12 92 Loss in NCAA Championship Game 2029 24 11 11 5 16 25 87 Loss in NCAA Tourney Round 2 2028 19 15 8 8 44 45 88 Loss in NCAA Tourney Round 1 2027 26 13 10 6 4 4 92 Loss in NCAA Final Four 2026 25 10 12 4 7 7 91 Loss in NCAA Sweet Sixteen 2025 21 12 10 6 20 17 91 Loss in NCAA Tourney Round 2 2024 25 9 13 3 10 10 94 Loss in NCAA Tourney Round 1 2023 20 15 10 6 33 25 94 Loss in NCAA Tourney Round 2 2022 21 12 12 4 18 17 90 Loss in NCAA Tourney Round 2 2021 24 10 14 2 10 12 89 Loss in NCAA Sweet Sixteen 2020 30 4 14 2 1 1 87 Loss in NCAA Tourney Round 2 2019 28 8 13 3 4 4 87 Loss in NCAA Tourney Round 2 2018 22 14 6 10 18 18 89 NIT Champion 2017 21 11 11 5 16 23 96 Loss in NCAA Tourney Round 2 2016 22 14 9 7 20 17 98 Loss in NCAA Final Four 2015 29 9 13 3 7 7 99 Loss in NCAA Elite Eight 2014 32 7 13 3 4 4 96 Loss in NCAA Championship Game 2013 27 10 11 5 10 10 92 Loss in NCAA Sweet Sixteen 2012 25 11 10 6 7 7 91 Loss in NCAA Elite Eight 2011 23 10 11 5 11 11 90 Loss in NCAA Tourney Round 1 2010 21 11 11 5 12 13 91 Loss in NCAA Tourney Round 1 2009 21 12 12 4 20 25 91 Loss in NCAA Tourney Round 1 2008 21 13 10 6 29 32 94 Loss in NCAA Tourney Round 2 2007 21 13 14 2 26 44 97 Loss in NCAA Tourney Round 2 2006 24 13 9 7 16 16 96 Loss in NCAA Final Four 2005 25 11 10 6 14 15 96 Loss in NCAA Elite Eight 2004 30 9 12 4 1 1 97 Loss in NCAA Championship Game 2003 29 6 13 3 4 4 93 Loss in NCAA Tourney Round 1 They made the Title game back in 2030, but lost it and have not gotten out of the first weekend of play since. I get one job offer from Oklahoma State, but decline of course. All of my assistant coaches will remain this year. We are invited to the Great Alaskan Shootout, as a 2 seed. We gladly accept. We have 10 openings on our OOC schedule, 8 of which can be home games. We schedule the following teams. Indiana State Colorado Indiana Purdue Vermont UMass Gardner Webb Albany Binghamton Northeastern We have 5 scholarships to offer. Going to have the hit the pavement hard this year. We get 2 early recruits. PF Marshall Barahona, from Ravena, NY, has committed to Syracuse. Marshall is a 4 star recruit. With his potentials he will be a real star for us, but he will most likely see a red shit his freshman year. Heis the #21 overall recruit.
PG Galen Fifield, from Swanton, OH, has committed to Syracuse. Galen is also a 4 star recruit. A terrific shooter and shows the potential to be a great defender. His passing and handling skills are about average though.

2037-2038 Syracuse Orangemen Roster
CENTERS 11 Stephen Alanis C Sr 6'10" 258 San Francisco, CA It was a tough decision, but I decided to not return Alanis as our starting center. He will be invaluable off the bench for us though and will back up the PF and C positions. 50 Alfonso Horst C So 6' 9" 224 Richmond, VA Horst is very solid across the board and will see plenty of playing time off the bench for us. We are very deep down in the paint this year. 12 David Moreno C Fr 6'10" 240 Windsor, CA David is a walk on and will not see any playing time. POWER FORWARDS 4 Jack Medlin PF Sr 6' 9" 212 Tyngsborough, MA Medlin moves from PF to the starting Center job this season. A great scorer, and a good rebounded and defender. 40 Michael Hurt PF Jr 6' 6" 227 Lake Placid, FL Mike is a walk on who has a pretty good offensive game down in the paint. He still probably won’t get too much time though. 44 Frank Archer PF Jr 6' 9" 241 Moreno Valley, CA Another walk on who has some offensive game. 51 Lindsay Marchand PF Jr 6'11" 210 Winnetka, IL This junior takes over the starting PF spot on our team this year. He is above average on offense, but brings rebounding and defense to the paint, which we really need. SMALL FORWARDS 0 Houston Johnson SF Sr 6' 8" 225 Honolulu, HI This walk on plays some decent defense, but not much else. 55 Laurence Ford SF So 6' 7" 233 Oakridge, OR Ford is a pretty good scorer in the paint, and does a few other things well enough to see a bit of playing time this season. 31 Oscar Tinsley SF Fr 6' 7" 254 Montgomery, NY Oscar just needs a bit more time to develop, but he should eventually become a very good player for us. For now though, his minutes will be limited. SHOOTING GUARDS 22 Eric Price SG Jr 6' 2" 180 Santa Ana, CA Price is a walk on who will not see too much time at all. 2 Kendall Scalise SG Jr 6' 5" 203 Fallston, MD Kendall will start at SF. He is just a tremendous scorer and will be looked at for consistent scoring. His defense is adequate. Kendall has informed me that he will forego his senior season for the NBA draft. 13 Victor Ceballos SG Fr 6' 3" 173 Lakewood, CA Victor is a true freshman and will get the start at SG. He comes to us as an excellent scoring machine. As any youngster is, he tends to neglect the defense aspect of the game, but he can still get the job done. Victor has informed me that he is a one and done player and will not be back after this season. POINT GUARDS 24 Clifton Julien PG Sr 6' 1" 179 Plant City, FL Clifton is a great passer and will see a very good amount of time backing up the point. 25 Peter Wing PG Sr 6' 4" 203 Milford, CT Peter is the do everything point guard that will run our team this he. He can score, pass, defend, steal. You name it, he does it for us. He is the glue that will hold us together this season.

Northeastern (0-0) at Syracuse (0-0) We start off the season with a few tune up games before we head up to Alaska. We cruise through this game and take the easy 113-76 victory. Scalise led the team in scoring with 32 points in our opener. Ceballos had 27 in his collegiate debut. Wing scored 13 along with 10 assists and 6 rebounds. Medlin added 16 points and 9 rebounds.
November 20, 2037 Binghamton (0-0) at Syracuse (1-0) Another pretty easy win today, 97-49. Ceballos led the team today with 22 points. He is quite the impressive freshman! Wing had another double double scoring 11 and handing out 11 assists. Scalise added 18 points while Medlin had 145 along with 11 boards.
We are ranked #18 in the new poll. November 5, 2037 #18 Syracuse (2-0) vs. Fordham (1-2) In the opening round of the Great Alaskan Shootout, we cruise to an easy 78-50 win. Medlin led the offense with 18 points, while Ceballos was right there with 17. Scalise had a dozen and Marchand had 10 boards.
November 27, 2037 #18 Syracuse (3-0) vs. Tennessee (1-1) Tennessee is the 3 seed to our 2 seed in this tournament. They play like the 1 seed and hand it to us, 104-86. Four of our starters scored in double figures, led by Scalise with 18. Marchand scored 12 with 11 boards. Our defense really let us down today.
November 28, 2037 #18 Syracuse (3-1) vs. #19 Wake Forest (2-2) Wake is the number 1 seed in this tournament. This was supposed to be the championship game, but instead we will play for 3rd place. We take the third place game by dominating from start to finish. The final was 103-77. Scalise was our leading scorer with 25. Ceballos had another 20+ point game, scoring 24 today. Wing scored 13 with 15 assists. Medlin also scored 15 for us.
November Recap We are ranked #24 in the latest polls. PG Borislav Titov, from Kirov, Russia, has committed to Syracuse. Boris is a 4 star recruit. An average scorer, but great point guard skills and a very good defender. He is the 36th ranked recruit in the world.
SF Richard Stewart, from Wendell, NC, has committed to Syracuse. Richard is a 4 star recruit. He has some scoring ability down low, but is a very good 3 point shooter. His rebounding is nice as is his defense. He is the 27th ranked recruit overall.
C Jason Hicks, from Providence, RI, ahs committed to Syracuse. Jason is a 4 star recruit. His offensive game is already well rounded. He will grab a few rebounds and shows a lot of potential on defense. He is the #31 ranked recruit.

Albany (3-2) at #24 Syracuse (4-1) Albany actually gave us all we could handle. They took the game right to the final seconds, but we hit a clutch basket to escape with a 100-98 victory. Scalise led us in scoring with 25 but two others scored over 20 for us. Ceballos had 23 and Medlin 22. Wing had 9 points and 10 assists.
We have moved up to #17 in the polls. December 9, 2037 #17 Syracuse (5-1) at Gardner Webb (2-4) We hit the road for the first time all year (not counting neutral courts) and roll over our opponents, 101-64. Wing led us in the scoring department with 27 today. Medlin scored 13 along with 12 boards. Ceballos also scored 13. Alanis had 12 off the bench and I am considering putting him in the lineup in place of Marchand, who has not been playing great.
We are ranked #13 in the latest polls. December 14, 2037 Massachusetts (5-1) at #13 Syracuse (6-1) Our defense smothers them and we roll to a 94-48 victory. Ceballos went off for 30 points today. Wing added 17. Scalise had 15 and Alanis had 10 off the bench. Medlin scored 8 with 11 boards.
Mid Month Recap
Alanis will now move to the starting center position. Medlin will move back to PF and Marchant will get his time off the bench. Top 25

#13 Syracuse (7-1) at Vermont (2-4) No problems again on the road here as we win 100-79. Ceballos sets a career high with 40 points. Sad that I only get him for 1 year. Wing scored 13 with 15 assists.
We have moved up to #10 in the polls. December 24, 2037 Purdue (6-2) at #10 Syracuse (8-1) We take care of a good Purdue team on our home court, 91-69. Scalise led us in scoring with 22 points today. Medlin had 13 with 11 boards while Alanis scored 11 with 8 boards. Wing had 17 and Ceballos was actually held to just 9.
We have now moved up to #6 in the polls. December 29, 2037 #11 Indiana (9-1) at #6 Syracuse (9-1) We finally meet our match at home today. Indiana takes the 87-70 victory over us. Ceballos led us with 17 points. Medlin had 15 with 13 boards and Scalise had a dozen. Wing was injured, played just 15 minutes and scored no points. Not having him run the team really limits our effectiveness.

Colorado (3-8) at #6 Syracuse (9-2) We just pour it on from start to finish and have our 3rd best offensive output in Syracuse history. The final score was 122-67. All 5 starters scored in double figures, led by Medlin with 21. Wing, Scalise, Alanis and Ford each scored 18 points while Ceballos had 13.
We slip down to #9 in the polls. January 6, 2038 #9 Syracuse (10-2) at #6 Temple (9-3) Pretty tough way to open the league schedule. We lose on the road to the number 6 team, 103-91. Ceballos had another great game, scoring 25. Alanis had 12 with 10 boards. We had no problems scoring, just the defense struggled.
January 9, 2038 #9 Syracuse (10-3) at Weber State (7-4) We fall to 0-2 in league play with a 77-67 loss on the road to this new Big East team. All 5 starters did score in double figures, led by Ceballos with 17. Medlin had 14 with 15 rebounds.
We have slipped all the way down to #21. January 13, 2038 #6 Connecticut (11-1) at #21 Syracuse (10-4) We pick up a huge win here at home, 82-75. I hate Uconn. Ceballos led us with 22 points. Are you thinking National Freshman of the year? Wing and Alanis each scored a dozen.
Mid Month Recap We are now ranked #17 in the nation.
After the slow start we have so ground to make up. Top 25

We move up to #16 in the polls. January 27, 2038 Hofstra (8-8) at #16 Syracuse (12-4) We pick up another conference win at home today, 94-77. Alanis had a big game for us with a game high 26 points. Ceballos added 16 and Ford had 13 off the bench. Medlin also added 11.

#2 St. Bonaventure (19-2) at #8 Syracuse (14-4) We knock off the #2 team in the land on our own court by a wide margin, 92-77! Ceballos came up big in the big game, scoring 32 points. Marchand had 17 off the bench. Scalise had 11 and Medlin grabbed 12 boards.
February 3, 2038 Niagara (8-10) at #8 Syracuse (15-4) Not much problem here as we win 6 in a row with a 98-71 victory. Ceballos with his second consecutive 30 point game. He had 34 today. Medlin had 17 and alanis 15 with 14 boards in the paint. Wing added 13 points.
February 6, 2038 #8 Syracuse (16-4) at Notre Dame (8-11) A wild one in South Bend, but we come out on top 119-108! This was our first road win of the season and we have a bunch more road games yet to play. All 5 starters scored in double figures again, led by Ceballos with 27. Scalise was right with him, scoring 24. Wing had 18 with 13 assists.
We moved up to spots to #6 in the country. February 8, 2038 #6 Syracuse (17-4) at #23 Western Kentucky (16-5) They avoid getting swept by us this year with a pretty easy 84-66 win. We struggled bad on the road today. Ceballos led us on offense, but he only had 16. Medlin had 13 and Alanis 11.
February 10, 2038 Notre Dame (9-12) at #6 Syracuse (17-5) This one hurts. We lose at home to a mediocre Irish team, 87-84. I hate losing to Notre Dame. Medlin and Ceballos led us with 20 points each. All of our starters did score in double figures, but it was all for naught.
Mid Month Recap We are now ranked #13.
The race for the top spot is still wide open, but we will have to pick up some road wins to get the job done. Top 25

Weber State (16-7) at #13 Syracuse (17-6) We rebound from a couple of losses with a solid 98-75 win at home today. Scalise led us with 21 points today. Ceballos added 17. Alanis had 15 while Wing had 14, and Marchand added 11 off the bench.
February 20, 2038 #13 Syracuse (18-6) at West Virginia (9-17) Any win on the road is a good one and we pick one up here, 87-72. Ceballos again led the team in scoring with 21. Alanis had 20 today. Medlin scored 13 along with 11 rebounds. Wing scored 8 and had 10 assists.
We moved back into the top 10, ranked #9 in the country now. February 24, 2038 #9 Syracuse (19-6) at Siena (9-15) A terrible let down today as we tried to win our 20th of the season. Siena takes this one from us 106-85. Ceballos had 32 and Medlin 11, but once again the defense let us down.
February 27, 2038 #9 Syracuse (19-7) at Hofstra (9-17) We sneak out of there with a 5 point victory, 92-87. We dominated in the paint today as Medlin led the offense with 24 and Alanis had 20.
February Recap We are ranked #12 at the end of February. Marchand has been placed on academic probation for the next month.
We are tied for first with a road game at Niagara left in the conference schedule. Top 25

#12 Syracuse (20-7) at Niagara (12-14) We wrap up our 20th win and at least a tie for first in the West with a 103-94 road victory. Ceballos had a great game, scoring 36 points. Medlin had 23 and Scalise added 17.
March 6, 2038 Indiana State (11-16) at #12 Syracuse (21-7) We wrap up the regular season with an easy OOC win, 93-52. All 5 starters scored in double figures again today, led by who other than Ceballos with 18. Medlin had a dozen and 10 boards.
Final Regular Season Standings
We are the #2 seed in the Big East Tournament. March 11, 2038 (2) #9 Syracuse (22-7) vs. (7) Rutgers (20-9) We advance into the semi finals with a nice 88-71 victory. Scalise and Alanis each scored 21 to lead us to victory. Alanis also grabbed 11 boards.
March 12, 2038 (2) #9 Syracuse (23-7) vs. (11) Seton Hall (18-12) We though we caught a break with the 11 seed, but they played us tough and almost pulled off the upset. Somehow, we held on for the 91-90 victory to advance to the finals.
March 13, 2038 (1) #2 St. Bonaventure (29-5) vs. (2) #9 Syracuse (24-7) We are at a disadvantage, as Ceballos was banged up in our last game and the docs say he will only be playing at about 80% today. It probably did not matter though as we were just outplayed the whole day and lost 109-82. We settle for runner up in the Big East tournament.

Post Season
We have been awarded the #2 seed in the South Region. Our first round opponent is Liberty. If we win, we will face the winner of Louisville and Long Beach State. March 19, 2038 (2) #10 Syracuse (24-8) vs. (15) Liberty (22-9) We were able to take it easy in this game and yet we still blew them away, 104-74. Medlin was the man for us today, scoring 27 and grabbing 15 boards. Ceballos scored 25 while our others starters all scored in double figures too.
March 21, 2038 (2) #10 Syracuse (25-8) vs. (10) Long Beach State (21-10) This game was only slightly closer than our first round game, and for the first time in almost 40 years of coaching I am in the SWEET SIXTEEN! We take this game, 105-87. Scalise led the way to the Sweet 16 with 36 points. Ceballos added 23 and Alanis had 10.
March 25, 2038 (2) #10 Syracuse (26-8) vs. (3) #6 Kentucky (29-7) We took an early 6 point lead and were able to maintain the lead through out the entire game. We taker this one 94-86 and we are now just 1 game away from the Final Four!
March 27, 2038 (2) #10 Syracuse (27-8) vs. (1) #1 Wake Forest (29-7) To get to the final four we have to beat the #1 seed, who just also happens to be the #1 ranked team in the country. We have the firepower, but do we have enough defense??? The answer is no. We were only down by 4 at the half, but they pulled away in the second half and cruised to a 20 point win, 95-75.
Final Four #1 Connecticut #1 Wake Forest #1 Vanderbilt #1 St. Bonaventure So, all four #1 seeds advanced as well as three teams from the Big East, Eastern Division. We had the #2 ranked recruiting class in the country. Illinois had the #1 ranked class. Our prestige went up a couple of points to 85. The AD is still satisfied with me. The goal is still to reach the Final Four. I received a few job offers from some 90 prestige teams, but declined them all. This is my home! Two of my assistants found head coaching jobs at Holy Cross and Northern Illinois. Our coaching assistant also left us for a similar job at Tennessee. Our new recruiter is 41 year old Darrick Sandifer. He is rated 78 in recruiting. Our new coaching assistant is 43 year old Arden Rhinehart. He is rated 51 on offense and 70 on defense. Our new scout is 42 year old Guy Salinas. He is rated 66 in scouting. We have been invited to the Rainbow Classic Tournament in late December. We accept as the #2 seed. We have 10 games to schedule, 8 of which can be home games.

Great season! Almost made it to the Final 4.
Sorry to hear about Ceballos leaving. Maybe HR will add in code to persuade kids to come back or to have kids come back if they aren't drafted....though there's no doubt he will be. |

Thanks for reading along. It does suck that Ceballos left, but 1 and done players are a reality with the upper tier schools in basketball, so I really could not complain, the kids was simply awesome baby (/Dicky V. voice). I just thought of him as my own version of Carmelo Anthony.

We schedule the following teams for this season:
Binghamton Long Island VMI Sacred Heart Butler Houston San Diego Memphis Auburn Missouri We start off in November with a very easy schedule, then step it up a notch and have a few big games with Missouri, Auburn and Memphis. We have 3 scholarships to offer this year. We get 2 recruits in the early signing period. SF Samoyla Zhitnik, from Dimitrov, Russia, has committed to Syracuse. Sam is a 4 star recruit. He is already a good scorer, and has a lot of potential in his jump shot. He is a pretty good rebounded and a better defender inside than out. He is ranked #10 overall.
SG Brant Dukes, from Tallahassee, FL, has committed to Syracuse. Brant is a 4 star recruit. A real deadly scorer from iside, outside and 3 point range. He also defends very well in side and out. Even though he is a SG, he may fit ideally in the SF spot for us. He is the #29 ranked recruit.
Center Jason Hicks has informed me he will be a one and done player and leave for the draft after his freshman year.

2038-2039 Syracuse Roster
CENTERS 50 Alfonso Horst C Jr 6' 9" 225 Richmond, VA Horst gets the starting Center job for us this year. He is a great offensive threat in the paint, and also does a terrific job on the boards. His defense is above average, but not spectacular. 12 David Moreno C So 6'10" 241 Windsor, CA Davis is a walk on and will not see much playing time, if any. 1 Jason Hicks C Fr 6'11" 238 Providence, RI Hicks will be our 6th man and substiture at both the C and PF position. He is almost impossible to stop on offense, and does a decent job on defense. His rebounding skills are lacking though. POWER FORWARDS 40 Michael Hurt PF Sr 6' 6" 227 Lake Placid, FL Hurt is a walk on with decent enough offensive skills, and while not great, his other talents are not horrible, and that will allow me to give him a few minutes here and there. 44 Frank Archer PF Sr 6' 9" 241 Moreno Valley, CA Frank is a walk on as well and very similar to Hurt. He will also see a few minutes here and there. 51 Lindsay Marchand PF Sr 6'11" 213 Winnetka, IL Lindsay will be our starting PF this year. A tremendous player all around, and we will not be surprised to see him put up double figures in points and rebounds nearly every game. 5 Marshall Barahona PF Fr 6'10" 261 Ravena, NY Marshall gets a red shirt this year due to our good depth down low. SMALL FORWARDS 55 Laurence Ford SF Jr 6' 7" 234 Oakridge, OR Laurence is our weakest starter. He will start at SF. He can score inside with the best of them. His defense and rebounding leaves a little to desire though. 31 Oscar Tinsley SF So 6' 7" 255 Montgomery, NY Oscar is pretty average across the board, although he is above average on defense. He has the potential to grow into a starter for us though. 23 Richard Stewart SF Fr 6' 8" 215 Wendell, NC Stewart is a red shirt this season. SHOOTING GUARDS 22 Eric Price SG Sr 6' 2" 182 Santa Ana, CA Price is a walk on who will not see the court. 25 Brian Whiteley SG Fr 6' 4" 202 Wahpeton, ND Another walk on, no playing time. POINT GUARDS 32 Borislav Titov PG Fr 6' 1" 179 Kirov, Russia Boris gets the starting nod at the point this year. Great hands and an even better eye for the open man. His defense is pretty darn good as well. He has an OK shot to keep defenses honest. 0 Galen Fifield PG Fr 6' 0" 187 Swanton, OH Galen’s excellent shooting skills from the field and from 3 get him the starting nod at SG. That means both of our guards are true freshman. They will have to mature in hurry. 30 James McWilliams PG Fr 6' 0" 193 Canoga Park, CA This walk on is decent enough to get some time backing up the PG and SG spots.

Binghamton (0-0) at Syracuse (0-0) Our opening game results in a win, although I would have liked to see a much larger margin of victory today. The final score was 80-66. Ford and Horst led the team in scoring with 22 points each. Horst also pulled in 14 rebounds. Marchand had 11 points and Hicks had 10 off the bench.
November 19, 2038 Long Island (0-1) at Syracuse (1-0) This game was more of what I expected. We dominated them 99-54. Ford led the way with a gib 35 point night. Horst scored 20 along with 13 rebounds. Fifield had 11 and Hicks added 10.
November 24, 2038 VMI (2-0) at Syracuse (2-0) Not much of a problem today, as we win 91-56. Our scoring was spread out veryr well, with Ford leading us with 19 points. Marchand had 13 points and 13 boards. Horst had 17 points and 14 rebounds. Fifield added 15 points today.
We crack the top 25 with a #22 ranking. November 30, 2038 Sacred Heart (0-2) at #22 Syracuse (3-0) This may go down as one of the biggest upsets of the season. We just completely looked past this team and is costed us a 74-70 loss. Fifield led us with just 13 points. Horst and Marchand scored 12 each and combined for 17 rebounds.
November Recap
Hopefully that loss to Sacred Heart was just a fluke upset, otherwise it could spell bad things for us. We don’t seem to have one go to guy down the stretch, but we do have 5 solid starters. Top 25

Butler (3-1) at #22 Syracuse (3-1) I decide to make my offense inside oriented and take some pressure off of our young guards. It did not seem to help us though as we drop our second straight home game to a ‘mid-major’, 93-85. Ford led the way with 28 points, but our two big men could not break 8 points. Fifield added 14.
December 10, 2038 Syracuse (3-2) at Houston (1-4) We hit the road and things do not get better for us as we drop this game, 63-62. Ford and Hicks led the team in scoring with 14 points each. Our point guard led the team with 10 rebounds. That is not a good sign at all.
December 15, 2038 Syracuse (3-3) at San Diego (4-2) I switch up Fifield and Titov at SG and PG, but still that doesn’t get us going as we lose again, 62-55. Horst scored 16 to lead us in that department. Ford added 14 points.
Mid Month Recap
I am going to have to find something that works in a real hurry! Top 25

December 19, 2038
Memphis (5-2) at Syracuse (3-4) We get back home, regroup and pick up a much needed win, 82-76. Ford came through when we needed him with 29 points. At one point I thought he was the weak link in our lineup, but I was dead wrong. Hicks added 18 off the bench, and he is making a case for a starting job, but I just don’t know where to fit him in yet.
December 23, 2038 Syracuse (4-4) vs. Rutgers (6-3) This is the opening game of the Rainbow Invitational in Hawaii. We are the 2 seed, Rutgers the 7. We don’t embarrass ourselves today and take the first round victory, 81-62. Ford had another 29 points to lead the team in scoring. Marchand added 15 and Fifield had 10. Horst grabbed 13 boards for us.
December 25, 2038 Syracuse (5-4) vs. #12 Kent State (8-2) Kent State is the 3 seed in the tournament, and they are able to take us, 86-79. Ford was our only offensive threat, and he scored 30 today. Horst had 9 points along with 18 rebounds.
December 26, 2038 Hawaii (6-6) vs. Syracuse (5-5) Hawaii, as the host is the #1 seed, and they take the 3rd place game with a 90-80 victory over us. We have sunken about as low as possible now. Hicks came off the bench to lead us with 19 points. He has earned the starting job.
December 31, 2038 Auburn (6-4) at Syracuse (5-6) For this game, we move Hicks from the bench to the starting SF spot. That means we a replaying really big. Ford moves the SG spot and Fifield to the point. Titov will now come off the bench. All that seemed to work out well as we pick up the 78-49 victory. Ford adjusted well to his move with 21 points to lead us. Hicks came in and scored 12 as the starter. Marchand and Horst each scored 8 points and each had 10 boards. Fifield did a fine job at the point with 17 points.
December Recap
I can only hope that I found a starting lineup that will work for us now. Top 25

UNC Greensboro (5-4) at Syracuse (6-6) Our first game of the new year is also our first conference game, and it is at home against a new Big East member. They come into the Carrier Dome and steal a 85-84 victory from us. All of our starters scored in double figures, led by Hicks with 27 points. Horst had a nice game with 14 points and 11 boards. We don’t really have any bench depth this year.
January 8, 2039 #18 St. Bonaventure (10-3) at Syracuse (6-7) We just get embarrassed at home today, 107-66. I finally realize this team is going nowhere. Hicks had 12 which was the team high. Fifield added 10.
January 15, 2039 Syracuse (6-8) at Hofstra (9-6) I hold out no hope that we will win many on the road this year. My instinct is correct as I drop this one 81-68. Hicks led the team with 20 points. Horst had 17 and Ford added a dozen.
Mid Month Recap
It is going to be a long season. I can only hope we win enough to keep this job right now. Top 25

Hofstra (10-6) at Syracuse (6-9) We get our first Big East win of the year today, 81-68. That should quiet the boos we are getting at home for a little while at least. Ford led the way with 25 points and Hicks added 21. Horst had a huge day on the boards with 21 along with his 10 points.
January 22, 2039 Western Kentucky (9-8) at Syracuse (7-9) We pick up our second straight victory with a 76-71 win today. The guys are starting to get a little confidence in themselves now. Horst had a career day with 31 points and 24 rebounds! He tied the second best single game performance in Syracuse history today.
January 26, 2039 Syracuse (8-9) at Rutgers (7-11) We pick up a rare win on the road 85-78, and get ourselves back to 500 on the year. Fifield led the offense with 19 points today, but he got plenty of help. Hicks and Ford each scored 15 and Horst added 13.
January 29, 2039 Syracuse (9-9) at Western Kentucky (9-10) We move to over 500 for the first time since early December with a 75-64 win. Things are finally starting to come around and we have renewed hope for some kind of post season invite. Horst continues to dominate in the paint with a team high 18 points and 10 rebounds. Ford scored 16 and Hicks had 11.
January 31, 2039 Vanderbilt (8-11) at Syracuse (10-9) We drop a real close one here, 79-77. Ford had a team high 20 points and Hicks scored 18. Marchand and Horst combined for 23 rebounds and 15 points.
January Recap
We have rebounded nicely so far, to avoid a completely embarrassing season. Top 25

February 2, 2039
#12 Notre Dame (16-4) at Syracuse (10-10) We pull off a huge upset at home, 80-73 and work our way to 5-4 in Big East play. Ford was our leading scorer with 19 points. Horst had 15 points and 14 rebounds. Hicks scored 14 and Fifield had a dozen.
February 5, 2039 Syracuse (11-10) at Weber State (11-10) We come out flat and suffer a 69-58 loss on the road today. Disappointing after beating Notre Dame earlier in the week. Ford led us with 17 points and Hicks added 12 but we couldn’t find any more offense.
February 7, 2039 Syracuse (11-11) at UNC Greensboro (10-9) We have our best road effort of the season with a 97-79 victory. Just finding consistency will help us win more games. Hicks had a great game with 23 points and 11 boards. Marchand had 18 points and Horst added 13. Our two guards, Ford and Fifield each scored in double figures as well.
February 9, 2039 Syracuse (12-11) at #16 Seton Hall (17-4) Somehow we pull off another upset against a ranked team, and this one was on the road! The final score was 75-73 and we stopped them on the last possession to steal the win. Ford led us with 15 points, but Marchand and Horst each scored 14, along with both of them pulling down double figures in rebounds.
February 12, 2039 Syracuse (13-11) at #11 Notre Dame (18-6) Could we pull off two big road wins in a row? No, of course not. We drop this one 103-91. Hicks did all he could, scoring 27 points. Horst had 10 and 11 boards. Ford scored 18 and Fifield had 16.
Mid Month Recap
The season is quickly coming to an end and we are on the brink of winning or losing more games than the other. Every game is key right now. I am going to make one more adjustment to the lineup. Hicks will move to the starting PF spot. Everybody will short over 1 position to allow Titov to start at the point again. Marchand, who has been pretty quiet, will come off the bench. Top 25

Missouri (16-7) at Syracuse (13-12) We pick up a nice OOC win here today, which will bring our RPI into the 50’s, which is the bubble, I would think. The final score was 76-64. Horst was the game MVP with a team high 16 points and 18 rebounds. Hicks also scored 16. Ford and Marchand had a dozen each and Titov added 10.
February 26, 2039 Weber State (15-12) at Syracuse (14-12) We blow Weber State out on our gym, something we have not done in a while. The final score was 92-61. Horst had a magnificent day, scoring 28 points and grabbing 26 rebounds! He tied a school record with those boards!
We lose Ford for about 2 weeks due to an injury today. More lineup juggling, as Marchand will return to the starting 5. February Recap
It seems we have the talent, but not the seasoning and experience we need. Our guys all need a little more development. Top 25

March 2, 2039
Niagara (12-15) at Syracuse (15-12) Our last two games are a home and home series with basement dweller, Niagara. We take the first leg, 90-84. Horst led us in scoring with 23 points. All other starters scored in double figures as well. Hicks had 17, Marchand had 14 along with 14 board and Fifield and Titov had a dozen each.
March 5, 2039 Syracuse (16-12) at Niagara (12-16) In one of the most exciting games of the season, we end up our regular season schedule with a double overtime, 113-112 victory! Horst led us in scoring with 25 points. Marchand had 20 points, while Hicks had 16 and Fifield 15. Titov only scored 2, but had 11 assists. Archer had a huge game off the bench with 17 points and 11 rebounds.
Final Big East Standings
We came on strong in the second half of the year, and now sit squarely on the bubble. We are the #3 seed in the conference tournament, and I am hoping that is enough to get us in. Still, I would like to win at least a game or two in the Big East tourney. March 10, 2039 (3) Syracuse (17-12) vs. (6) Vanderbilt (17-13) Two bubble teams duke it out in the first round, and they get the better of us, 85-68. Horst scored 19 with 21 assists and Hicks added 18 points. Now we wait until Sunday to learn our fate.
Notre Dame wins the Big East Tournament this year. Final Top 25

Post Season
Disappointment. Our name was not called on selection Sunday, and we have to settle for a 3 seed in the NIT tournament. March 17, 2039 (6) Massachusetts (17-13) vs. (3) Syracuse (17-13) This is clearly not where we wanted to end up come March, and we played like we did not even want to be here. We lose, 68-54 and this long, miserable season has finally come to an end.

Off Season Procedures
Our prestige only dropped 1 point, down to 84. The AD is still satisfied, and still expects me to reach the final Four. Our recruiting class was ranked #11 in the country. Utah State had the #1 ranked class this season. I receive some very prestigious job offers: Tennessee (93) Utah State (92) I decline them both, of course. My assistant coaches remain with me for another season. We are invited to the Maui Shootout as a 2 seed, and we accept. We also have 10 games to schedule, with 8 of them being home games. Here are the teams we schedule this season: Butler Idaho Oklahoma Yale Purdue Vermont Georgetown Army Long Island Binghamton We have 2 scholarships to offer this recruiting season. We get 1 early recruit. SF Jonathan Hunt, from Melba, ID, has committed to Syracuse. Jon is a 5 star recruit, and the #6 overall recruit in the nation. He is just a terrific shooter and does a good job covering his man.

2039-2040 Roster
CENTERS 50 Alfonso Horst C Sr 6' 9" 225 Richmond, VA Horst was a 1st team All American as a Junior and could very well be the best Center in the Nation right now. Other teams better find a way to deal with him if they want to beat us. 12 David Moreno C Jr 6'10" 241 Windsor, CA Moreno is an above average walk on, but that won’t get him more than a few minutes here and there. 51 James Fox C Fr 7' 0" 226 Seymour, IN Foz is a walk on and will not play. POWER FORWARDS 5 Marshall Barahona PF Fr 6'10" 267 Ravena, NY Marshall was a red shirt last year, but gets the starting nod this season at PF. He is already a very good defender and rebounded, but still has a ton of potential. His also a decent scorer and will also improve quite a bit if he stick with us a few years. 14 Paul Toth PF Fr 6' 6" 205 Riverside, CA A walk on with not much to offer. 33 Colin Underwood PF Fr 6' 9" 250 Berthoud, CO Another walk on with not much to offer. SMALL FORWARDS 55 Laurence Ford SF Sr 6' 7" 235 Oakridge, OR Ford gets the start at SF this season. He is a great finisher down low, but also has a pretty nice jump shot. His defense is adequate, but he is much better defending the smaller guards than the big guys. 31 Oscar Tinsley SF Jr 6' 7" 256 Montgomery, NY Oscar is a great defender and can come into give us a bit of offense when needed as well. 23 Richard Stewart SF Fr 6' 9" 217 Wendell, NC Richard doesn’t stand out in any one category but he is slightly above average across the board, which makes for a very valuable backup player. 22 Samoyla Zhitnik SF Fr 6' 7" 219 Dmitrov, Russia Zhitnik gets a red shirt this season. SHOOTING GUARDS 44 Brant Dukes SG Jr 6' 5" 190 Tallahassee, FL A terrific scorer and an adequate defender. He will see plenty of court time as our 6th man. 25 Brian Whiteley SG So 6' 4" 202 Wahpeton, ND Another walk on…no playing time. POINT GUARDS 32 Borislav Titov PG So 6' 1" 179 Kirov, Russia Titov gets the start at the point this year. He always finds the open man on the floor. His defense is pretty decent too. He has informed me he will be giving up his final two years and heading to the draft after this one. 0 Galen Fifield PG So 6' 0" 190 Swanton, OH Lights out shooter. He really improved in the off season and will get the start at SG. 30 James McWilliams PG So 6' 0" 194 Canoga Park, CA This walk on has decent enough point guards skills to get a few minutes backing up the point. Overview: Our starting 5 can run with anyone in the country, no doubt about it. If we get injuries or foul problems we will struggle. We are not very deep due to some top heavy recruiting and early departures.

November 13, 2039
Binghamton (0-0) at #22 Syracuse (0-0) Binghamton is becoming our opening night sacrifice lately. This year is was not so much of a sacrifice as a scare they gave us. We still get the win, 79-74, but that was way too close for comfort. Fifield led the team with 17 points today. Ford added 15 while Horst, Titov and Dukes each scored 10. Horst also grabbed 11 boards.
We are ranked #5 after this game, but the polls usually level out after a week or two. November 18, 2039 Long Island (0-0) at #5 Syracuse (1-0) This is not possible. We get blown out of our own court, 73-56 by a third, or even fourth rate team. This is a very bad sign. Ford and Horst each scored 13 to lead us and Fifield added 10.
November 21, 2039 Syracuse (1-1) at North Carolina State (1-1) We are the #2 seed in the Maui Invitational, they are the 7 seed. We take the 5 point victory in the first round out here in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, 84-79. Ford had a big day with 28 points. Horst added a dozen and Dukes had 17 off the bench. I did adjust some game strategy setting before this one.
November 22, 2039 Syracuse (2-1) vs. Fresno State (1-1) Fresno is the 3 seed out here, and we are without Horst for a week. Even without Horst, we seem to have settled down and take a 112-94 victory. Ford had a game high 29 points. Barahona had 19 and 12 boards. Fifield added 20 and Titov and McWilliams added 10 points each.
November 23, 2039 Syracuse (3-1) vs. Boston College (2-0) The 1 and 2 seeds meet for the Maui Title. BS takes it with a 94-82 victory. Ford led us with 26 points, and with Horst back in the lineup, he scored 15 with 12 boards. Fifield added 19 and Dukes had 14.
November 29, 2039 Army (1-3) at Syracuse (3-2) We take this win, but still, it was not a blowout. The final score was 96-85. Ford and Fifield led the way, each putting up 28 points today. Horst scored 14 with 15 rebounds and Titov had 11 assists to go along with his 7 points.
November Recap PF Eugenio Miles, from El Segundo, CA, has committed to Syracuse. Miles is a 4 star recruit and the #21 overall recruit in the nation. Already a great defender, his shooting and rebounding has the potential, but needs some seasoning.
SF Charles Desrosiers, from Simmerville, SC, has committed to Syracuse. Charles is a 4 star recruit and the #35 overall recruit. He is a good 3 point shooter and a good exterior defender.
We are 4-2 and maybe 1 of those 4 wins could even be considered impressive (Fresno State). Top 25

Georgetown (5-2) at Syracuse (4-2) We edge out our biggest rivals, in what hopefully is a renewal of this old intense rivalry. The final score was 70-67. Ford led us in scoring with 19. Horst had 16 along with 11 rebounds. Titov had 10 assists and Steward added a dozen points off the bench.
December 11, 2039 Vermont (2-3) at Syracuse (5-2) We play one of our better games of the year and take this one 81-68. Horst had a big day with 25 points and another 15 rebounds. Ford had 14 points and Stewart came up big off the bench again with 13.
We break back into the Top 25 polls, at #22. December 16, 2039 Purdue (6-1) at #22 Syracuse (6-2) Purdue comes into the Dome with a nice record and were looking to break into the national scene, but we just came out and squashed them flat, 114-67. This is what we should be capable of every single game. Ford led us in scoring with 30, while Fifield was not far behind at 25. Horst scored 24 with 14 boards and Barahona had 12 boards. Dukes and Stewart each scored in double figures off the bench.
Mid Month Recap We have moved up to #18 in the polls.
Things are starting to look better, but we have a HUGE game coming up next. Top 25

#18 Syracuse (7-2) at #24 Oklahoma (5-3) We hit the road and visit my old stomping grounds. It was a good visit as we win a road game against a ranked opponent, 93-90! Ford had a career day for himself with 42 points! Barahona, Fifield and Titov all scored in double figures as well.
We have crept up to #17 in the polls. December 29, 2039 Idaho (3-8) at #17 Syracuse (8-2) Our defense gets the job done today and we win this one 71-57. Horst had a great day with 22 points and 17 rebounds. Fifield was our only other starter in double figures, he had 19. Dukes added 13 points off the bench.
December Recap
After some early season jitters and a 3-2 record, we have now rattled off 6 wins in a row. Top 25

#17 Syracuse (9-2) at Yale (5-6) We hit the road and Yale gives us a good game, but we come through at the end with a 95-89 victory. Fifield led all scorers with 25 points today. Ford added 21 and Dukes had 14 off the bench.
We jump 4 spots to #13 in the latest media poll. January 4, 2040 Toledo (9-2) at #13 Syracuse (10-2) We open up the Big East schedule at home against a very good Toledo team. We take the 6 point victory and it is a great way to open things up. The final score was 94-88. Ford led us with 23 points and Fifield almost matched him, scoring 21 of his own. Stewart had a nice game off the bench with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Dukes also had 17 off the bench.
Barahona was injured in the game and will miss three weeks. He was pretty disappointing in the PF spot, so maybe we can find a better fit now. I give Stewart the start. January 7, 2040 #13 Syracuse (11-2) at Weber State (6-8) This could be our ugliest performance since I came to Syracuse. We get bombed today, 72-42. Ford scored 42 in one game this year! He had 17 today and was our only offensive weapon. Horst did grab 13 rebounds.
We slip to #15 in the polls. January 11, 2040 #15 Syracuse (11-3) at Hofstra (11-3) Another road game and another very ugly loss, 79-58. Ford had 18 and Dukes had 13 and there is not much more to add to that.
Horst was injured in the game and will miss 3-4 weeks. That hurts bad. January 14, 2040 #15 Syracuse (11-4) at UNC Greensboro (7-9) We drop our third straight game in conference play thanks to another anemic offense. The final score was 86-56. Ford had 15, Fifield 10 and Dukes 17.
Mid Month Recap

#24 Syracuse (11-5) at Toledo (10-5) We drop 4 in a row now, 92-79 was the final today. Ford scored 26 for us and Fifield and Titov both scored in double figures as well.
January 23, 2040 Syracuse (11-6) at Butler (5-10) We get Barahona back and insert him into the starting Center spot until Horst returns in about a week or so. We also step out of conference for a game and finally pick up another victory, 112-96. We had 3 players score over 20 points today, led by Ford with 28. Steward had 24 and Dukes had 23 off the bench.
January 28, 2040 #15 Vanderbilt (15-5) at Syracuse (12-6) We pull off the upset over a ranked team, 112-104. This win could go along way in getting our season back on track. We had another 3 players with more than 20 points tonight, once again led by Ford with 28. Dukes had 24 and Fifield had 21.
We barely break back into the top 25 poll, at #25. January 30, 2040 #25 Syracuse (13-6) at Siena (7-12) Horst is able to play, but he is only at 75% so he will come off the bench this game before getting back into the starting lineup. We take the easy win, 77-60 anyway. Dukes led the team off the bench with 26 points. Ford had another 22 points tonight.
January Recap
We are getting health and starting to creep back up. Top 25
