Or if I could have recovered an onside kick. They actually did pick up some points off a turnover as a punted ball, took a Rutgers bounce, and then bounced off one of my blockers where they picked it up at around the Rutgers 20. I think that was probably ended up with Imoh's 12 yard TD run. I need to beat West Virginia really badly, if I want to go to a New Year's day bowl, which would likely be the Gator Bowl. |

I was refering to the two they ran back on you the previous game. They may have gotten points off the turnovers this time, but at least they had to work a little for them. Good luck versus West Virginia. At least you are getting a lot of television coverage. I think that helps recruiting even if they are losses.

#43 West Virginia Mountaineerss (3-3/0-1) @ #22 Rutgers Scarlet Knights (3-2/0-1)
After 2 straight losses, the Scarlet Knights will try to get back on track against the always tough Mountaineers. The game will receive regional TV coverage. Both Herbstreit and Corso picked the Knights to win. Key Players West Virginia: HB Kay-Jay Harris, HB Jason Colson, QB Rasheed Marshall Rutgers: HB Justice Hairston, CB Tavaris Gant, MLB Brady Huff Injuries West Virginia: SS Jahmile Addae - Hip Bursistis - 2 weeks OT Travis Garrett - Strained Back - 8 weeks Rutgers: None In the 1st quarter, West Virginia's FS Lawrence Audena suffered a strained knee playing special teams on a kickoff. He will miss the remainder of the game. Well this game is looking like an old fashioned shootout. I can't stop the option, and they can't stop the pass. Halftime Score: Rutgers 27, West Virginia 10 In the 3rd quarter, our starting SS Maximus Meridius suffered a pulled groin. He will be out of action for 3 weeks. Looks like we should get 2 or 3 more wins. But the way we have been playing I wouldn't be surprised with 0. Thanks for the extra info and good luck in the second half.

#85 Temple Owls (2-5/0-2) @ #22 Rutgers Scarlet Knights (5-2/2-1)
We've won 2 straight games to get back on track for our bowl hopes, and are still in the chase for the Big East Championship if we can win the rest of the games. We'll take it one game at a time tho, as we look to climb up the polls once again. This game will have no television coverage. #3 Miani Hurricanes (9-1/5-0) @ #15 Rutgers Scarlet Knights (8-2/4-1)
The Scarlet Knights will look to continue their 5 game winning streak against the white hot Miami Hurricanes, who have won 9 in a row since an early season loss against Ohio State. Woot!!! For one week I was the best defensive player out of four schools (three of which are nearly total crap).
Good luck against Syracuse. |

Well I do know that Troy State's Derrick Ansley had a great year, so he picked up a couple of player of the week nods, and you're one of 4 Notre Dame defensive players to pick up the award. I guess the INT you grabbed had alot to do with it. |

#19Rutgers Scarlet Knights (8-3/4-2) @ #43 Syracuse Orangemen (7-5/3-3)
Last week we got blown off the field by Miami. This week we have to come back and prove that we are a top 20 team. Syracuse has had some success this year, but are only 1-4 against teams who are currently in the coaches' poll top 25. If we can contain Walter Reyes, we should have a good chance to win. The game will have regional coverage. We are the consensus pick to win. Key Players Rutgers: HB Justice Hairston, FS Jason Nugent, CB Tavaris Gant Syarcuse: HB Walter Reyes, QB Xzavier Gaines, OLB Kelvin Smith Injuries Rutgers: None Syracuse: RT Quinn Ojinnaka - Strained Knee - 4 weeks In the 1st quarter, Justice Hairston broke Terrell Willis school record for career rushing yards. Willis had rushed for 3,114 yards between 1993 and 1995. Later in the same quarter, Justice broke his own single season school rushing record. Also in the 1st quarter, Syracuse's starting LOLB, Kellen Pruitt, suffered a broken collarbone. He will not play again this season In the 2nd quarter, CB Tavaris Gant intercepted his 10th pass of the season, breaking John Pollock's record, which was set in 1968. Clarence Pittman suffered a sprained elbow in the 2nd quarter. He will be out of action for 2 weeks, but he will be able to end his Rutgers career in a bowl game. Syracuse lost another LOLB in the 2nd quarter, when Luke Cain sprained his wrist. He'll miss 1 week. Halftime Score: Rutgers 28, Syracuse 14 Today's game was a big personel game for Justice Hairston, as he broke the Rutgers single game rushing record. Final Score: Rutgers 41, Syracuse 38 This game was rated the 4th greatest game ever, with a score of 581. It was an decent game, but from my dynasties I noticed that it usually takes either a defense TD, a huge number of tackles, or a relatively large amount of "special" plays (multiple picks, forced fumbles, etc.) to get the PtW nod in the conferences. Gratz on the win to close out the regulat season. |

Thank yee sir. At the beginning of the game, I thought it was gonna be one of those really long games, but in the 2nd half, my running game just took over. If Hairston sticks around for his senior year, the Scarlet Knights should be in good shape. |

Two Key Phone Calls
Head coach Greg Schiano will attempt to work his magic, and get both HB Justise Hairston and FS Jason Nugent to stay at Rutgers for their senior seasons. Any contact we have with these 2 will come out of our week 1 points, of which we have 600. A head coach visit will cost 32 points, An assistiant coach visit will cost 16 points, a call from the head coach is worth 8 points, and if the assistant coach call's it will be 4 points. HB Justise Hairston Justise is leaning toward leaving. I would estimate we have approximately a 25% chance of keeping him here. Both head coach Schiano and offensive Coordinator Craig Ver Steg will visit him, costing us 48 points. Justise: Sorry, coach, but I have to do what's best for my family. I'm leaving. FS Jason Nugent Nugent is more interested in staying for his senior. I'd say we have about a 70% chance of keeping him here. Defensive Coordinator Paul Ferraro will visit him, while Coach Schiano will call him. This will cost us 24 points. Jason: I've made up my mind, Coach. I'm going to stay and play for next year.

Roster Breakdown/ Team Needs
Here is how the roster breaks down as we enter recuiting for the 2005 season. Code:
Here's How I see what we need entering recruiting. QBs: We have 3 on the roster right now, but 2 are Juniors, and Baker is much more likely to line up at WR than under center. I'd really like to find a QB this year who can redshirt a year while Ryan Hart is still here and than step in as a redshirt freshman. A QB with good wheels is preferred. HBs: I feel comfortable with Markis Facyson as my starting HB, but I could use a 3rd HB for depth, and hopefully one blue chipper, who we can groom to be the long term replacement at HB. FB: Brian Leonard is a solid blocker, but we could use another guy to back him up. WRs: We need at least 2 WRs here.Tucker is still the go to guy, but I want a guy who I can line up at flanker and burn the deep coverage. TEs: All Set here. We won't need anyone for at least 2 years OT: We have 2 sophmores in Spivey and Hawkins, but it would be nice to pick up some more quality depth at the position. G: We have 3 Senior guards, led by Randy Boxill, but we need to find guys who can step in down the line. At least 1 recruit this year is key C: We have 2 guys on the roster, but they're not great. If we could find an upgrade, it would be great, but its not critical. DE: Picking up another DE who could redshirt a year would be great. DT: None of our DTs are seniors this year, and we have 4 guys, so we shouldn;t have to recruit anyone here, unless there are some really top guys who want to come here. OLBs: Maybe 1 guy to be a backup on both sides, but we're ok at LB in general. MLBs: 4 guys, 1 senior. Same as the DT position CB: No seniors here, but we could use some speed guys to upgrade the nickel and dime packages. We need at least 1 guy regardless. FS: 2 guys, 1s an all american caliber player. We should be able to get by without recruiting any one here. SS: We only have 1 guy here, so we could use a backup type here. K: We have a guy, but I don't trust him, if someone better comes along we'll try to get him. P: Radigan is the guy here for one more year.
