Pocahantes is incorrect.
For #14 I am basically looking for what the concept was.

I remember reading this story, but I don't know if my explanation of "problem" is what the question is asking...
22 - The problem with Cell 13 is that the "Thinking Machine" escaped by disguising himself as a handyman. Edit - Then again, that wasn't really a problem...that was the solution (I think?) to a bet between Thinking Machine and the warden...Maybe the "problem" was "How do you escape from a prison cell"? 45 - 7. It's the different number of tetrads in Tetris.

What about 3 dimensional objects though? say you have: x xx You could add one either behind or in front of any of the x's, creating a 3D object, which Tetris doesn't have. I tried to imagine all of these (without the benefit of blocks), but it started to make my brain hurt. |

VPI, you are on the right track there. Maybe if I mentioned 'pipes' it might help you.

I had arrived at a line, a square, an "L", a "T", and a sort of flat "s", which is just a square with one of the sides slid up/down. That is 5 more or less 2D objects. From the image above you could a) add one out from the corner, making more or less a 3D corner. You could add one coming at you from the top x, which would be like adding one in back of the bottom right x? Then also add one in front of bottom right x/inback of top x? So is it 8, or am I still missing some?

Digamma, you are correct on that one. I must have glossed over it earlier.
cuervo, you are also correct with an answer of 8. Nicely done!

Was 26 related in some way to M. Butterfly, and 7 in some way to All Creatures Great and Small, or was I on the wrong track completely?
Is 8 some combination of the letters "estit"? "eTits" maybe?

cuervo, I went back and looked at your answer and it is correct. Herriot was a pen name though, no? Anyway, after a quick bit of research, I credited you with that answer.
26 is absolutly related to M. Butterfly, but re-read the question. It asks about a detail of M. Butterfly, not just for the name.

Some hints:
2) Andrew Lloyd Webber 20) Starts with birth, ends with death. This is pretty hard to give a hint to. 23) "I knew he was a guinea" 25) fraud and made up names. On second though, this one is pretty darn hard to make the connection... 29) Shakespeare and 73 32) symbol of peace 33) heh. No way to give a clue here. 42) Hiawatha's mother was Wenonah, father was Mudjekeewis. So grandmother was _________ (Daughter of the Moon). 44) Will find a hint, this is not familiar at all to me 49) what is a grand plie and a grand jette?

20. Jesus' Baptism The Wedding at Cana, Jesus' First Miracle Jesus' Proclamation at the Kingdom of God The Transfiguration The Institution of the Eucharist at the Last Supper 23. He was Italian 25. Qui Tam is a provision that encourages people aware of fraud against the government to come forward. The Mikado is an opera featuring names that are two word combinations like: Ko-Ko, Nanki-Poo, Peep-Bo, etc... Qui Tam sounds similar to these names. I can provide a bit more detail if interested. 32. cuervo was correct with Billie Dove 33. cuervo was correct with Cornet 41. Hiawatha's grandmother was Daughter of the Moon Nokomis 44. He was apprenticed until his 18th birthday. Too bad he wasn't apprenticed until he was 18 years old. Not sure on this reference. 49. a grand plie is when you flex your knees all the way as opposed to a demi plie where you flex your knees a little. A grand jette is a big jump.
