I don't even know if you got the joke? You were replying to DaddyTorgo, but didn't put a comma after "DT" so it looks like "DT Brady"

I just hope Gruden, when giving the opportunity (preseason doesnt give it the chance), takes shots at coaches when they do dumb shit. These guys in the past have stuck to the whole fraternity thing way too much and refuse to be critical of anyone besides the players.

You may not get your wish. I think Gruden would have sucked Coughlins dick last night if he could have.

It's really a 2-2 deal... 2 years of prison (where he serves 3/4 or the 20 months) plus another 2 years of supervised release.

Why does a guy get as much or more time for shooting himself in the foot as another guy gets for repeatedly torturing dogs?

Or 20 times longer than a guy who kills somebody with his car while drunk?

Yes, but that discussion has been done to death. I'm just amazed that Burress got so much time for injuring himself. You'd think the embarrassment of literally shooting yourself in the foot would be close to punishment enough. Maybe just take away his guns or something.

It's not the same court issuing these sentences, so you can't really compare them.

Criminal punishments vary a ton in this country by state, county, judge, federal v. state.

That's especially true when guns are involved. He probably wouldn't serve any time at all in Idaho, Wyoming, or Montanta. In NY - they're a little more testy about guns.

I'd be comfortable with a long sentence for accidental discharge, but I think it's insane that he'll go to jail for two years for missing paperwork. Does anyone know what the punishment would be if he had the proper license?

The bottom line is Burress is being made an example of. Now don't get me wrong, I feel zero sympathy for him, I do feel it is a bit much.

My understanding is the current Mayor/ DA ran on a very heavy anti-gun law and didn't want the perception they were being soft.

I'm actually surprised that's all he got, I thought they would bang him out for the full "mandatory" 3 yr stint, or is it 3.5? Ignorance is no excuse, I'm not even remotely close to a gun type person, and even I know that you're fucked if you're caught carrying one in NYC, I'm pretty sure its common knowledge around the area, but I could be wrong.

I don't understand why the Vikings would draft a QB in the 2nd round if after starting 19 games, he has a 76.5 QB rating (and 95.4 in his most recent season), and they've already decided to give up on him. If you're not patient enough to give a QB time to develop, then you shouldn't be wasting a 2nd rounder on one. You'd be better off just taking a dump in the war room while everyone else passes you up on the draft board.

So what's the over/under on the amount of screen-time Vick gets tonight, even though he'll be in street clothes?

None, because per Andy Reid rules, people who aren't playing don't usually make the trip to away games. Vick is not eligible to play in this game of course.

And that is going to stop someone like ESPN from stuffing a camera in his house/apartment anyway how exactly? They still manage to get video of Favre driving his tractor into these games after all...

I didn't realize Reid had that as a house rule. I rather like it actually...keep the distractions to a minimum.

Yeah but if I were a team taking a chance on Michael Vick, I might adjust that rule because I'd want him with the team at all times.

So, Chad Johnson (Ochocincho? Can't remember how to spell his new name) fills in as kicker, nails an XP and kicks it off to the 9 yard line.

Well, whenever he doesn't want/gets to old, to catch footballs anymore, he'll have another job as a kicker possibly.

And the extra point was the game-winning point.

As the Bengals announcer said, "now he'll be really hard to live with." Just now?

Vick will be allowed to play in the last 2 pre-season games - so maybe it makes sense to have a "normal" pre-season game before that craziness starts.

So Apparently when they designed the new Cowboys stadium, they didn't take into account the punts hitting the scoreboard, this is going to be a problem all year. DOH

Yep, its pretty hilarious, watching the game now, they were talking about it earlier pregame that it was happening, then the Titans punted it away just now in the 3rd quarter and bam there it was. The officials are basically doing a do over of every punt that hits the board. haha.

If I was the TEN punter, I would've tried repeatedly to kick it as high as I could. It's a preseason game, who gives a shit? Buck said that the punt that followed the one that hit the scoreboard was high enough as well, but it was off to the side so it missed contact.

I'll give the Cowboys the benefit of the doubt that they chose the highest possible height for the board that didn't make it a pain in the ass for the fans in the lowest seats to see it. But that obnoxious piece of awesome will probably need to get raised, and all those highest-paying season ticket holders will get pissed as they feel that front row movie theater experience.

There's not a chance more punts (especially those that are purposely kicked higher for pinning purposes) don't drill the board.
