Sorry, but I disagree with this 100%. Just because a word is used in everyday language doesn't automatically mean it is correctly used, or is even a word. Personally, I hate the use of "ain't". It just screams of someone being uneducated to me. But according to your theory, it would be ok to have it in everyday language because it is acceptable by some.

Yeah I guess you're right, nevermind what I said, my brain is still waking up this morning. I'd hate to see the use of the word ain't become more prevalent then it already is, but it's more of a regional thing.

Irregardless, I hope the usage of ain't doesn't get untracked.

Should we turn this into a grammar-nitpick thread?

I got an email today from that same "irregardless" guy asking me about two options. He told me that if its the "ladder", something would need to be done. I'm not going to give him the benefit of the doubt that it was a typo.

I don't want to sound bias, but Kodos is the most dominate poster in this thread.

Each to his own. I find the use of "ain't" to be irritating. If you don't, that is fine. I don't judge you, why are you judging me?

Probably because I'm awake earlier than usual and have a cold. Sorry.

And just to nip this in the bud, East Coaster is anything East of CA...

It's good. I lived in San Diego for nearly four years. I understand not waking up until 11:30am eastern time.

How can any word be "real"? Or for that matter, how can any word be un-real?

Very true. Words are what we speak regardless of them being accepted or gibberish.
