The Gators rolled to a 37-24 win over Mexico City. The Aztecs played better than expected, and moved the ball very well overall, but the youngsters just couldn't keep up with the Lowcountry offensive juggernaut. The key numbers...
Up next week, we've got a big matchup against cartman and the 4-1 Driftwood Rabid Javelina.

Week 7 Preliminaries...
Based on the stats, there would appear to be some question as to whether or not we can run the ball against the Rabid Javelina. However, unless they've got a bunch of players who are better than advertised, I believe we'll be able to put up solid rushing numbers against them, and we clearly have an advantage over their secondary.

Man, we suffered a frustrating loss. We outgained the opposition 401-243, but lost 24-21. Our special teams was the primary culprit. We had three field goals blocked, including a potential game-tying one at the end of regulation. The Rabid Javelina also returned a punt for a TD, and averaged 27 yards per kickoff return as well. The offense moved the ball pretty well, and the defense stuffed the run game (25 carries, 48 yards) and neutralized the passing game (16/27, 208 yards, 0 TDs). Here are our stats, heading into the bye week:
Donovan's more of a workhorse than I'd expected. If he remains healthy all year long, then our picking of Stinnett in the top 12 may prove to have been overkill. He's leading the league in rushing.
Chamberlain is looking like an absolute freak so far. Because of my low number of short passes, I VERY rarely have receivers near the top of the league in YAC, yet he's #2. He leads the league in yards and yards per catch.
Given that 11 of our first 12 picks were offensive players, it's no surprise that we're #1 in total offense, and #29 in total defense.

I haven't had time to do game-by-game updates, but a quick recap:
QB Marrero is 16 yards behind the league leader in passing yards. RB Donovan leads the league in rushing by 54 yards. SE Chamberlain leads the league in receiving by 102 yards. Overall, we're 2nd in rushing, 1st in passing, first (429.3) in total offense, and first (29.1) in points per game. We're 28th (335.0) in total defense and 26th (21.3) in total offense. If you like offense, check out a Lowcountry game, 'cause you're bound to see some.
