You know what? Last night I had Manwich...but I had to eat it out of Hot Dog buns, because I was out of Hamburger buns. It just wasn't the same. I did, however, think of this thread as soon as I saw the Manwich can in the cupboard.

EDIT: Manwich has nothing on Lowry's Sloppy Joe Seasoning.

Maybe i just got lousy ground beef, but this manwich was just not that good. I let it simmer for quite awhile. We'll see how it tastes for the 3AM reheat. I should have gone with spicy or bold instead of le Original.

Maybe it's the fact that your manwich night was 6 hours long

You don't eat MANWICHES with a fork! You better get rid of that picture before they take your man card away!

I like the vinegary-type of hot sauce but yeah, put some spice on your Manwich and it'll make your taste buds do summersaults.

One of the three ingredients in Tabasco is vinegar. Peppers, vinegar, and salt...

Tabasco isn't as vinegary as the Louisiana hot sauce. That's what I was referring to... smart ass

There are distinct differences. Yes Vinegar is prominent in tobasco, but really tobasco is about pepper flavor. Other Louisiana hot sauce is all about the VINEGAR. Think real buffalo wing vinager flavor.

Thankfully, I live in chicken wing land and get the great sauces (usually order it on the side and save it for whatever).

Did you know that in northern NJ, a sloppy joe is not what it is in the rest of the country?

I was at a diner on my most recent trip up to Vernon, NJ and heard a woman at a table nearby ask what was on their sloppy joe. There I was, thinking that it was a stupid question, but the waitress got the cook from the kitchen and he said it was: 3 slices of bread, turkey and roast beef, thousand island dressing, and cole slaw (which still sounds to me a lot like a version of a ruben).

Sure enough,

Shame on you for not getting out more in Jersey (you too Lathum) .

FTR, I prefer North Jersey "sloppy joes". I find the Manwich kind are just too sweet.

I love both types of sloppy joes. You just have to know where you are to know what you are getting. If you are in a diner or old school deli, you are going to get something closer to a reuben. Yummy.

This is funny, because I made Manwich for myself for Christmas and then reheated it and ate all eight during the day for my meals.
