You have the right to your opinion Shorty, but I have the right to mine. HM was a troublemaker and blatant troller. He posted "innocent" threads and then peppered his replies with subtextual insults and then acted shocked when people called him on it. The insults continued even to this PM, which, before I saw this thread, I was going to reply to with the following: "Go away and don't PM me again."

Adios, farewell, auf wiedersen, goodbye. Any other message board would have been rid of him LONG ago.

Bad form, bad form. Not a single one was even noted.

Shorty should know much, much better.

In courier's honor, I think it should be submitted for QOTM.

BTW... thanks for correcting my spelling.

Would that be more or less annoying than I find sniping at a guy who isn't here by people who probably couldn't carry his posting jockstrap?

Umm, keep in mind he left of his own volition. He could defend himself if he wanted, he chooses not to, so be it.

Wow, so now noone from Dell can post?

Shorty, having been sucked in and responding in a heartfelt manner by what I thought was a private correspondence, I feel this is actually the shittiest thing he has ever done here. While I would never have supported his banning for posting of his opinions, abusing the PM privileges does deserve it. Can you really defend that action?

Sad to see couriers go. He had a lot of nice posts and was a solid contributer. I didn't think he handled the QotM thing well, but I'm sad to see him go.

I don't know why, and I don't even know if that was the intention, but I actually got a chuckle out of this post. It was even an enjoyable chuckle, not the sarcastic kind.

Thanks, I guess, chuckles around here are getting harder to come by.

So, he had this one outburst. The guy had a couple thousand posts and has been around for a couple of years, at least. I don't feel the last week has been indicitive of his actions in his whole time here.

Maybe he will return after a layoff of some time.

I'm not going nearly that far but I am kindof sickened by this: posting PMs and then delighting in the banning of a semi-troll. Oh well, I just keep reading less and less on General instead making this my third stop after the Dynasty and Hattrick boards- they seem a lot more civil. I'm not saying HM didn't invite some of this, but when you start acting like this- it's the old cliche about not being any better than he is.

On a completely unrelated note, I've learned that if a person on my "ignore list" gets banned from the forum, all his posts then become visible to me again.

Just thought I'd share that.

I think couriers will pull a Bucc/Any-something (if you call it that) because I think he has too much invested in various topics like his OOTP dynasties/leagues. I, for one, loves how creative he thinks regarding playing OOTP.

I've been thinking a lot about what it means to be old lately. I mean I feel like next year, when I become a teacher, I'm losing my identity. I've never ever been refferred to by my last name, even in situations where everyone else was... Not to mention I think back to when I was in elementry school and I think of the first year teachers I had, and they seemed as old as my parents to me. I mean I knew they weren't as old as my parents, but they were as "old" as they were. Feels strange to know that'll probabally be true for the kids I teach, even though I'm barely old enough to go to a bar.

This is my happiest day. The very first day he arrived, he made a complete ass out of himself, threadjacking every forum into a UT versus everyone fight. As I went there and he did not, I took offense to him speaking for a school he did not attend in a very immature way. I was shouted down for calling him out. I bided my time, and let him hang himself. He finally did.

You cannot know how happy this has made me. The only time I ever considered leaving this board for good; was because of this troll. (Jim had it correct).

1. Shorty-

I agreed with the you the other night in the fathering thread, but I will have to disagree with you on this one. I recieved the WHY? private message and I think I have maybe posted once about the guy. (And all I posted was asking him why he tortures himself by posting here. It would seem like he could come back as Texasman or any other alias if he really wants a second chance.) So I really felt bad, like maybe Skydog banned him and said it was because of several people's posts including panerd. I was trying to e-mail him back and tell him that while I don't care for his posting, I don't mind him on the board. Now I come to find that I was part of a mass e-mail. I think it was very apporopriate to post the mas e-mail and call him on it because a lot of people were misled.

2. As far as Couriers goes, I hope it wasn't because of me. (though I am not sure why post count would show how great a FOF member you are) I orginally posted the midget joke and then Couriers used it to try to make a point. Unfortunatly he dug himself into a hole with the old "Well my friend is a midget." Like racists who claim they have a black friend or the guy who says "All Jews are cheap, hey I have a Jewish friend so I can say that". He doesn't have a midget friend. So I told him in another thread to go play with his short friend and next thing I know he is gone. So if it was me, I apoligize. Just put me on your ignore list Couriers and return.
