Based on two hours of play this is my favorite console sports game ever. I am a hockey nut so obviously it holds preference but this is incredible.

DeToxRox, how does it work when you're on the bench? Do you watch the action going on, or is it like a supersim mode?

There are options where you can sim to you're back out, but I dunno how to do it yet. Frankly I like watching from the bench because you hit X and try calling for your own line changes.

I think I'd like to play as a defenseman, although I'm not sure if I'd rather be an offensive defenseman or a "stay at home" type. Of course, if I play for the Devils in the game, I don't think they even bother with offensive defensemen anymore, so it doesn't matter.

DeToxRox, you say you're playing on the Capitals? I take it that starting in the AHL is just an option, but you can start in the NHL if you want to? Personally, I think I'd rather start with the Lowell Devils and work my way up, but that decision won't be made until the last possible second.

I was so thinking about waiting to buy this game, but I think I might have to get it tonight.

Stopped by Gamestop on the way home just to see and YES!!!! After just a few games I have to say this may be my favorite EA game of all time!!!

Just three games into my career as a power forward right winger with 2 goals and an assist, I love the way they handle the line changes and let you watch the game (glad it wasn't an instant jump ahead). Actually enough into the game that I was pumped when my team took a 1-0 lead while I was on the bench in the first game. Still getting used to paying defense though as I was so used to what used to be the arcade like quality of past NHL games.

For anyone who doesn't have it yet, GO GET IT!!!

Yeah. If you look at the cards(located in performance tracker) you can see what you need to do to improve. Each card gives you a few points to use.
