This is my first season of 24 that I'm watching, and I'm loving it so far.... my only complaint is that despite never having seen it before I still thought that it was a little bit predictable.

It is a fun series, but it wont help with making the show feel any less predictable. So far I don't we've really seen anything we haven't already seen at least twice if not more.

I have never seen an episode. Would you suggest jumping in now, or trying to watch the first four seasons? Also, does each episode cover a day and that is why it is called 24? Dumb question for all of you veterans I know.

According to the website, he just an aide to Logan, not sure what his "official" title is.

I faithfully watched the first season and I swear I almost Rolleyed™ my eyes right out of my head. The amount of times that Jack's family went from same situation to same situation made me nuts.

Luckily Elisha was easy on the eyes.

I'm giving this a try again. It's fun watching the bad-ass parts but if it's like last season I will get frustrated by the plot and the amazingly poor screening practices for hiring people to highly sensitive positions of national security.

Last season really lost me with the countless times that the terrorist was trapped inside a building yet still escaped (it seemed like every other episode). Plus the fact that somehow only the terrorists had a recovery plan for getting back the 'football' in the event of a crash of Air Force One. It's like the feds had Herm Edwards running clock management on that one.

This season did piss me off by killnig off characters that I liked, especially if Tony dies.

Not to poke holes but why would the terrorists have over-rides for their explosive vests that seemingly were all on different frequencies? This would be the only way that Jack could have set off just one vest with that frequency and not killed everyone. At least that I could think of.

Sorry, I know that this is the kind of series that you just have to accept a few things that are a little off the wall. I just get caught up in those things sometimes.

Ahh yes, the "football'. All they need to do is bring back Berus (said in scratchy voice)and this season would be complete.

The only thing I can think of with the vests, Donnie, is that Jack got the exact number off the vest he wanted to blow up, so there could still be a main frequency for all the vests that they head guy had, but Jack got the one just for that vest.

That is correct, sir. In fact, while Chloe was looking up the manufacturer of the device, there was a small screen cap on her monitor of either a serial number or id number which would have individually identified the detonator.

Isn't it ironic that an explosive device like that would have the serial number large enough on the front of the device instead of something inscribed in very small lettering/numbering inside of the device itself?

Now that was a great episode of 24!

Chloe was at her best.

Evil hitman going after Jack and Jack kicking his ass (of course). A very short Jack Bauer interrogation scene.

I'm liking Samwise quite a bit so far.

The first lady plot is still stupid and ridiculous, but I couldn't help but laugh at the notion of the secret service scrambling to track down a half-mad first lady running around on the loose.

Yeah a very good episode. Audrey & Jack seeing each other, then avoiding on another, and then meeting was an played out well. Such a short talk, more to happen between them in the future, I'm curious which woman, if either, he's gonna go back to?

Chloe telling everyone to piss off, including the pleasently plump IT coworker, who will probably end up professing his love before the day is thru.

And yes, the interrogation scene was way too short. I've been looking forward to this, waiting for this....I'm wondering if it's gonna be a thumb, a kneecap, or maybe the needle guy will come in. But no Jack just shows him a picture and starts yelling and the guy confesses everything. Oh well, still 19 hours to go, bound to be some bad guy to interrogate.

And the trailers for the next week still suck. I have no idea who talks to who, who gets arrested, I gotta stop watching those.

That was perhaps Jack's finest interrogation yet. Direct. Right to the point. And with some great dialogue. It was great to see Aaron get involved in the action. Cummings play on the president was a nice touch. The whole Audrey/Jack/Derek's Mom thing went a little overboard, but, oh well, it happens.

Good stuff.

This episode was written by David Fury. The guy is quality. He did a lot of work with Whedon on Buffy, Angel, and Firefly.

This was probably the best episode of the season up to this point, maybe one of the best period. Jack Bauer is my hero.

Walt Cummings is a douche.

Since I'm not a LOTR fan, I see Sean Astin as Mikey from the Goonies. At one point last night when they were debating about what to do, I yelled "Call Data and Chunk and get them in here". My wife looked at me like I was insane.

McCain is the mole.

Nice fake out by last week's 24 preview with the girl by the bed. I figured the reason they didn't show her was that she was someone fans of the show would recognize.

Edgar smiling after Chloe got rid of that guy was awesome.

Deja vu with the lover of a bad guy offering him while Jack watches (Season 1, Drazen and the President's aide).

I love that the newsarchor for my Fox affiliate (Joe Moore) discusses the show before previewing what stories the 10 o'clock news will have. This week they didn't even preview any stories and instead it was him in some room "talking" on the phone with Jack.

"I know you're busy saving the country but we've got some problems here at KHON."
:hear dial tone:
"Jack? Jack?"

I thought the crazy first wife was going to be the bizzarro plot point this is season. Well, one of them. But it turned out ok. Now it looks like it is this whole Samwise/Rudy's drugged out sister and her thug boyfriend. That whole thing was silly and will only get sillier.

Add the crazy first-lady to the "Will only get sillier" category.

I laugh out loud at the Rudy parts and the White House drama, but who cares? It's 24! I don't expect any show that has to show 24 hours of one day to be remotely realistic. Can you imagine that? Even on a day where a major terror event occured in our country... Two guys sitting in a FBI/CIA office hanging out at the water cooler, taking long lunches, and logging on the sites like FOFC all day. And then something like OKC or 9-11 happens and all of the people in the office freak out and run over to watch CNN or FOX news cover the event live.

Wow, talk about a moral dillema.

Why are the terrorists always smarter than about everyone but Jack? No-one else but the terrorists could have figured out that the devices could be activated manually. Not a big reach that terrorists would potentially sacrifice smoeone to do that. They are terrorists after all.

As far as action goes, this season has kicked ass so far. Plus Jack has gotten to show some off some of his interogation skills and has shown his human side. He has become simultaneously a very complex yet very simple character. Which shows there has been very good acting on his part and writing for his character. Okay, maybe a little too much analyzing going on there.

I still have trouble taking 'Rudy' seriously though. I either see Goonies or a 4th string football player at an over-rated college when I see him.

It was a good, tense episode. I liked it. No stupid plot moments. Good stuff. I've been enjoying the season so far. A little more diversity in these episodes instead of 1) Try to find Habib Marwan. 2) Track down Habib Marwan. 3) Assault to get Habib Marwan. 4) Habib Marwan runs away and detonates explosive behind him to cover his escape. 5) Try to find Habib Marwan.
