I like this Earl the best of the season so far... its pretty good for a network show. I'm amazed how the American Office just keeps getting better and better with each new episode. The original is better but the new one definately stands up on its own merit.
Anyone else watching Extras on HBO? Not as good as the original Office, but it has its moments and I thought ep2 was better than ep1. |

It's a great show. They are airing them out of order in the US, apparently front-loading the ones with guest stars the US will recognize. |

I saw one episode of Extras this weekend. Not sure about it yet. It seems that David is playing sort of the same character that he was in the Office. While that was funny, it might wear itself out after a while.
I can also now say that I have seen an episode the BBC Office, and I was cracking up. However, it will be easy for me to seperate this one and the American show in my mind. |

Finally got around to watching this week's eps. Liked both of them.
No Joy subplot this week, can't say it was missed. Randy was funny. "She had discovered a way to make newspapers even more boring." Viva Nadine Velasquez! "Women and men are equals. So If I let the women go out first, I'd have a lawsuit on my hands" |

I love that! Didn't miss joy though. I thought the episode started off slow, but really picked up at the end. I was so hoping he would use that bat on his brother to shut him up. |

The Office was predictable. Called it right at the beginning that they'd fire someone we'd never seen before.

Yeah, but it was still a funny episode. I love it and "My Name Is Earl." They both are so good, they'll probably be soon cancelled. |

EARL is actually doing well in the ratings, but OFFICE was borderline to be picked up this year, and isn't doing all that great right now.
Still, I think everyone had to expect they would be firing someone you had never seen before in this episode... call it the "Star Trek" phenomenon. If you've never seen them before, they're probably not gonna stick around long.

I though this week's Office was more of the more funnier ones. They're all funny, but the image of Dwight in the Sith Lord costume makes me giggle.

Earl is doing well in the ratings, and I think the Office is getting helped by that a bit. I think both will be renewed and will continue as a 'set'. Both are half hour comedies without laugh tracks, and it still is somewhat rare for that to be the case.
Speaking of Dwight in the Sith Lord costume, the best was when the middle aged woman who sits next to him (what's her name... I should know this) asked if he was a monk and Dwight's reaction to it.

The second season of The Office has been extended by NBC. NBC only ordered 6 episodes to be done. In late September, NBC ordered an additional 7 episodes, giving the second season a 13 episode run.
I believe Earl had been ordered for as much, maybe more. |

So f'ing annoying... in BOTH "My Name is Earl" and "The Office", Georgia, which doesn't have any statewide races, minimized the show to less than 1/4th of the screen while showing municipal election results. It really sucked because I was freaking watching it on HD... bastards! Anyway, two winners yet again. Earl is great (especially with the kid from Rosanne as the golfer), but I think I like The Office better, and I think the American version has eclipsed the British one. "Dwigt" was just hilarious. And having the meeting at Chilis was funny as well. "No, I didn't purposely get you drunk!"

Loved tonight Earl episode.
Wow, a wedding show I actually liked. Being registered at the local liquor store, only the beginning for the best White Trash wedding I have ever seen on TV. And, great writing for not just having Earl come in and "Buy" Joy a big wedding. I thought for sure Earl would just come in and do an over the top high dollar wedding, like I have seen everywhere else. Great writing on this show keeps Earl as the only show this year that I actually make a point to watch. |

I said SORRY.
I know there are a ton of Office fans here, but I just do not like that show. I think it starts with the people staring at the camera and just gets worse from their. I just do not like this show and can't wait untill either Earl or The Office find a new timeslot. I highly suspect that most people enjoying The Office are also the same ones lobbying to keep Arrested Development, another bad show for me, on the air. |

I can totally understand why people don't like The Office, I really do. The jokes sometimes take the whole show to develop(like tonight's with Dwight and it being Friday..). Other jokes just don't click other times. *shrug* Different strokes for different folks(don't know if that's really how it goes.. LOL).
I really love the why Jim and Pam get along, they've got such good funny chemistry. |

Shows like the Office seem to be based on putting the characters in uncomfortable situations and that is really a love it or hate it kind of thing for people (there are two kinds of people...). A lot of people I know who otherwise have great senses of humor just don't enjoy uncomfortable situational comedy like the Office.
