Time limit : since it is vacation time (and I haven't heard from Dirk saying he was on vacation), and week1 of the NFL is far away, I decide not to implement a time limit yet.
I am checking today Dirk status, if he doesn't respond, FFF will get back his team. |

So you can have 3 of the top 13 picks. You already have 2 first round selections. Seriously though, I didn't want to interfere or say that Dirk should be stripped of his team, I was wondering wheter we have a time limits, wheter people want one andall. Remembering last years'fiasco of having the wrong players on the wrong teams in the first week is not a thing to remember or put back on topic... Sorry for doing so... |

I'm in favor of a time limit, of about 5-6 hours, then you get the best available player automatically. That has to be the best solution if you can't be bothered to set a pre-draft.

well for me a 12 hours time limit would be better, but mainly for tommorrow since I go to my parent's house.
The only thing that pisses me off is that i'm only one pick away from really starting my draft |

I'm Ok with time limit but I think 6 hours is a bit short, especially when the guy before you made his choice in the middle of the night !!
PS : Alf, is your house done ? |

guys,
I go on vacations tomorow morning (friday) and comeback on friday 15th. I'll try to load my pre-draft at the max tonight so that it picks for me when my turn comes and avoids wasting everyone's time. I hope it'll go for the best...fingers crossed. I'm really motivated to be back in the Euro FOFC Fantasy league. I don't think my brother will be able to do anything for me..

Don't worry, the fun part of this is the after-draft trades between clubs.
I, for one, love trades so you may get you dream come true since I have Ladainian Tomlinson, the draft's #1 overall pick. Not to say that I will indeed pull the trigger and trade him but I'm always interested in proposals and if anything real good comes up, I would have no problem parting ways with my player, especially a RB. in summary : 1- I'm glad to have LT on my team and I think he's worthy of being the #1 pick. 2 - That doesn't mean at all that he's "untradable" later on.

time limit? My guess is 24 hours should be enough. This covers middle of the night problems and also covers possible other pproblems.
Or, if everybody sets up pre draft selections, this draft will be over before the Minnesota Vikings starting running back is named. |

Well, it looks like Dirk is back.
So once again, have a nice season and good luck to you all ! (funny thing is I would have draft James as well in that position...)

Sorry guys. Being at our new house all day again (as pim said). Add 2 daughters to that and I can't even connect regularly. Hopefully, I have 3 days at work next week, so I'll have a bit more time .
Time limit : since most everyone is on vacation or is going to go on vacation, I won't set a timer until August 15th. At that time, I will enforce a 24 hour time limit. I'll decrease it if I see we ran short of time. Kickoff is still in 35 days, so we have enough time (for now). FFF : I couldn't connect earlier today. Seems Dirk is back (I'll try to contact him). To all : I need everybody vacation time (and internet availability), thanks. I'll post the info when I have them all |

Ok
I'm in vacation the last 2 weeks of August ( from the 15th) but I'll try stay around an internet access during that time (I'll say once a day) Anyway the draft should be almost done by this time |

I'll be searching for a solution for the draft during my absence.
I would pre draft, if it wasn't for all 16 rounds, meaning I'd have to put in over 250 names in the 16th round |

bump
I still need to know CK#12, Critch, Ryan S & Dirk availability. All other guys are available when MIJB comes back on Augsut 16th. So the draft would resume with a 24 hour time limit. |

Though I think I can sit out the draft without doing anything, since I set up 14 rounds of predrafting... |

CK#12, Ryan S & Dirk still missing to report. I am going to contact Elven Knights. As soon as I have heard from everybody, I'll set a 24 hour time limit. And, I will put it at last Wednesday August 20 on place.

Hi,
I'll be on vacation from August 28th till September 8th. :-( It was a short-dated decision because my wife had a surgery. With two sons (8 & 6), a wife with a surgery and a lot of work at work and at home it's a hard time. Ciao, Dirk |

For the record:
I'm pathetic at drafting a fantasy football team. I keep forgetting to set my auto-draft choices properly and as a result I'm getting what must be history's weirdest team after four rounds of drafting: Vick, Michael ATL QB Staley, Duce PHI RB Owens, Terrell SFO WR Gonzalez, Tony KCC TE An injured QB, a holdout RB and two pretty damn good pass receivers... excuse me while I go hit myself with a large brick.

1 week ago, I thibnk landing Vick, Owens and Gonzalez would be called a 99% sure fantasy football victory.
Good thing I landed Shockey, M.Faulk and William Green. |

At least your team can play basketball by now, with Gonzalez and Owens...
Last year, I dumped both from the top of my draftboards because both were concidering NFL retirements to become NBA annonymi. |

I just selected Green Bay's Javon Walker to play alonside Torry Holt...this is risky but sounds promising.
Also picked Philly's Defense just after.

August 20th status : Timer Limit ON now
The timer limit is going to be set today (24 hour time limit). I will be disabling it on WE (if I remember) because someone doesn't have internet access on WEs. I will also let the computer pick if an owner misses a pick (hopefully not), it will pick out of Myfantasyleague average draft , so that would still be OK. If an owner doesn't get to me after missing one pick, I will look to replace him, but I don't think we are going to need that. Vacation dates Code:

Timer is off for the Week-end
However, you are still more than welcome(d) to make your selections. We are now entering round 7. MIJB : Dirk has made pre-drafts for several rounds and has also given me hints on whom to select. That should be OK. However, he doesn't know if he'll be available to select his starting lineups, we might need someone (fantastic flying froggies is first on the waiting list) to step in. No hurries yet ! Last edited by Alf : 08-23-2003 at 03:20 AM. |

Alf, I noticed the predrafted selections.
That was after I posted my question(s0. Let's just hope we can have a fun ff season and see a lot of teams compete for the playoffs through a late stage. (Well, except my team of course, I want my team to clinch a playoff spot after a week or 10) |
