Amaretto Sour..yeah, it's weak. But, then...I don't particularly like the taste of alcohol.
I can get one of these, hold one for hours (unless they're actually made well and then..I'll down a few) and people will think I'm being a socialite, rather than just drinking soda like normal.

Any of these drinks come with a diamond?
I like all drinks really. It really depends on what I feel like. Also, it seems mixed drinks are more acceptable in our society by men? |

If this is tequila/tabasco, I'll second this - much better than plain ol' tequila. Also (ok, some of these may be girlie, some may be shots): blue Hawaiian Alabama slammer Vokda/cran Bloody Mary (love love love bloody mary mix) kamikaze mudslide rum & coke (well, rum and about anything) Too bad I haven't had many of these for years...

In the club, a (Bombay) Sapphire and Tonic.
At home, a Manhattan mixed with Knob Creek and sweet vermouth. Mmm. |

Kudos to the folks who know their good gin.
Sapphire is the shit. Outside of the occaisonal shot of vodka or jameson, 'bout the only hard booze I can take. |

I'm in the same boat as you, sterling, I prefer flavour over the sheer heading-toward-oblivion aspect of it. In the rare occasion I do drink (beyond the glass or two of wine with dinner), I usually go for a B-51. I never even knew it had its own name, I just knew it as a variation of B-52 that I like better since hazelnut goes better with the coffee/cream flavour than Grand Marnier to me.
Oh, and I can't stand the taste of beer. |

Red Bull and Vodka...delicious, and even better when this expensive drink is FREE in Vegas.
Cap and Coke...and all other rums and coke. Vodka and 7-up...splash of sour mix...tastes suspicously like lemon-lime Gatorade, and yes...you can drink it just as fast Scarlet Cider...the name for this cranberry juice and Green Apple twist vodka drink was born after the following drunken conversation with a friend... And the legend was born... By the way...I ordered a "Bay Breeze" at the bar last night for this girl I was talking to. I could feel the burning of the bartender's eyes through me until I pointed out the girl who I ordered it for. |

dola -
The best "mix" drink is a Black & Tan - bottom half Harp, top half Guinness. I could also go for a Black Castle - bottom half Newcastle, top half Guinness. |

Baltimore Zoo - That webtender site definitely doesn't make this one right, it's in a 16 oz. glass, 10-11 liquors, and topped with a shot of Guinness.

I'm a fiend for the Bloody Mary every sunday morning as I watch football. Outside of that though, I don't really drink mixed drinks.
Kudos to VPI -- Black & Tans are amazing and I love Guiness by itself as well.

Vodka and 7 or a rye and ginger.
Of course, that's if the beer isn't going down well or there are high-ball specials that night. |

Black and Tans are good. I also forgot about a Dr. Pepper - shot of amaretto dropped into a mug of beer and then chugged.

Great call...forgot about that. A nice variation in beer pong to make the game tougher is to drop a shot of amaretto into a cup, and then fill it to almost the top with beer. Make that the front cup. Gotta have just the right amount of loft to sink it. |

milk and kahlua (sp?) jaeg-bomb Blue Gatorade + Everclear Admittedly, I'm not a big expert on mixes, as I really only get liquor on special occaisons, it's usually beer every time for me. For instance, until reading this thread I didn't know a White Russian included my aforementioned milk/kahlua. It'd be nice if you guys had your drinks and then listed what's in them, so I get some ideas.. By the way, are you guys serious when you try to suggest any kind of gin mix? Bombay is disgusting, Tangueray is ok, I think I've had one other type before.. for that matter I'm not much of a Vodka fan, too many instances of drinking Diluted Vodka back in the day when it was the only thing we could get our hands on. Give me some rum or whiskey and I'll be a'ight. Last edited by korme : 12-05-2004 at 12:14 AM. |

dola - that webtender website lists "Jello Shots" as the #1 mix all time.
Ya gotta be kidding me. I remember nearly a year ago eating like 25 jello shots and not feeling anything. I need to try those again, I guess, maybe someone just sucked at making them. |

Close to a Flaming Dr Pepper. There's something else mixed in with the Amaretto (151?), the shot is lit, dropped in the beer, then chugged. Good shit.

Yes, but not with Tequila, with Vodka. Great Picnic drink. You get a watermelon, buy a decent bottle of vodka, cut a circle in the watermelon, and dump the vodka in, and let it sit overnight int he fridge in a pan (will leak everywhere). Then when its time for the Family BBQ or picnic, bust out the watermelon. Some pieces are very strong. In college we had a thing called Jungle Juice, and I'm sure it everyone has had it and probably called it by different names, but it was Grain Alcohol and Koolaid mixed in a huge tub/keg/container, etc. If mixed well, you can't taste the grain but it gets you absolutely hammered.

I just had this last night, we just called it Superjuice, maybe there is a better or actual name for it:
1 liter of cheap ass Meijer Vodka Case of Nati Light 2 liter of Minute Maid Lemonade We put it in a big jug and mixed. Sounds nasty. You don't know how skeptical I was. I thought we were wasting. First, I hate cheap vodka, and I hate Nati Light.. BUT It tasted like sour lemonade, no sting or burn, but for all intents and purposes, compared to what I was expecting beer/vodka mix to taste like (I mean, mixing anything with beer? COME ON!), it was actually pretty damn good, and I recommend it for 4-5 people (we actually made 3 rounds of it). |

Can anybody tell me the difference between a Bloody Mary and a Caesar? I haven't had either since March but we were reminiscing about our SB trip to Canada and while trying a Caesar, I asked the waitress what the difference was between the two. Her response, verbatim:
"A bloody mary has tomato (tuh-may-toh) sauce, and a caesar has tomato (tuh-MAH-toh) sauce." I was like uhh.. potato, potahto. She had to be pulling my leg, right? |

Fuck. I just tried the "Prairie Wildfire" or whatever it's called. Sauza Tequila and plain Tabasco was what was in my cupboards. My lips are still burning 10 minutes later. Holy Christmas morning. This is the "manliest" drink I've ever had.
