Michael Sanderson Eliminated

Michael Sanderson moved all in from under the gun for his last 7,600. Jim Miller called from the cutoff seat. The players showed: Sanderson: Miller: The community cards hit both players as they came . Sanderson made two pair but Miller's Broadway straight was the nuts. Michael Sanderson was eliminated and Jim Miller chips up to just over 39,000.

Good run, Quik! Congrats on the cash!

And tough beat on the end.

Nuts! That's a tough beat. But way to go, Quik! Congrats on a great showing!

Did he make the bubble for the next cutoff in payout?

Thanks for the support.

Short version of day two play:

My first two hands were both nine high, so I folded and fully expected to defend my big blind with an all-in... and I believe the field had already lost enough players to inch up one more level of the payouts (about $300 more). Instead, I got a totally absurd walk on my big blind, and got to play the next round. The KTs was a monster compared to what I had been seeing, but I still had no reason to think I'd get called by a hand that I was actually ahead of. Ah, so it goes... a double up there would have given me life for maybe a couple more trips around the table -- and I actually outlasted 26 players on day two by folding about 15 hands. Go figure.

Scotty Nguyen Wins Event No. 45 $50K H.O.R.S.E. ($1,989,120) -

After taking down a big pot in stud eight-or-better with kings up, Scotty Nguyen had Michael DeMichele on the ropes for a hand of limit hold'em. All in preflop, Nguyen dominated DeMichele's A 3 with his own A 10. The final board ran out A 9 6 7 4 and Nguyen was crowned as the 2008 World Champion of H.O.R.S.E.

Michael DeMichele finished in second place, earning $1,243,200 for his runner-up performance.

The scoring for this is very time consuming, but I should have a current total up sometime tonight.

Don't worry, I didn't take it that way.

I am happy for Scotty, though. He's always been one of my favorites. I can't believe I didn't take him.

Ouch!

Quad Aces are Good, Right? ... RIGHT?

Motoyuki "Moto" Mabuchi raises to 850 in middle position and the button calls. The flop is and both check. The turn is and Moto bets 1,600. The button calls. The river is and Moto bets 2,500. The button raises to 8,500 and Moto reraises all in. The button calls. Moto shows for quad aces, but the button has for the royal flush. Moto is eliminated in stunning fashion.

I did see that - I would think a pro (drunk or not) would not act like that at a table. Even Erick Lindgren got pissed at Scotty.

Drunk Scotty was hilarious! Where's my fucking cocktail? That DeMichele punk should have just shutup, but Scotty did get out of line when he started rubbing it in after every pot he won. Erick Lindgren handled himself well and had a solid world series which was good to see.

I gotta say the decision to reverse the penalty against Hellmuth looks much better now in light of their hands off approach to Scotty.

He got pretty annoyed with Layne Flack too, who was also acting like a drunken asshat.
