18-6, but I've lost an Elite 8 already.
(And if Kentucky doesn't figure out what "defense" is at some point, my bracket will be FUBAR)

I am doing pretty good, still have not lost a Sweet 16 team; however, if Wisconsin and Providence go down, ouch.

*yawn* This is just a really boring bracket year. The higher seeds bracket has only missed 3 seeds so far.

22-6 so far and only one Sweet Sixteen team out (I'll give you one guess who that team was). But unless Chi-Ill picks it up I'm going to have two out here...

That's to be saved for your wacky upset bracket.

In 1 bracket, I missed 11 games and 4 of my sweet 16 teams are gone (though no elite 8). In the other bracket, I missed 9 games and 1 of my sweet 16 teams are gone (none of my elite 8).

Yet somehow, I have the exact same score in the ESPN game... go figure.

I'm 15-11 in the first round on my main bracket, but I've only lost 1 Sweet 16 team and nothing further. This weekend will be a biggie. I think it's time for some big bracket-crushing upsets!

My wacky bracket is also 15-11 (not the same 15/11, mind you). It's lost a pair of S16 teams and an E8 team.

I was 26 of 32 in the first round games. I have two sweet 16 teams out in Providence and Western Michigan. My final four is Kentucky, Wake Forest, UNC and Stanford.

I have Kentucky winning it all over Stanford. The only other real suprise I have is Wisconsin playing Wake in the Elite 8.

I could see Texas Tech beating St. Joe's today which would be nice. Then again, I could see Manhattan beating Wake as well. Should be fun!

I ended up playing straight seeds to the Elite 8, with the one exception being Wake Forest who I have losing in the title game to Stanford. So it was a very good first round for me, but means so very little in terms of winning a pool. I'm usually the guy who sneers at the guy in first at this point, pointing out that he may be 28-4 but has lost a Final Four team. So it is a little weird to be on the other end of the spectrum.

Ehh, well, I really felt like the Miners had the talent and heart to compete with and beat both Maryland and Syracuse. It's not like I would have predicted them doing that if they were a #15 seed or anything...

I was 26-6 on my first round picks. 5 of the 6 I was wrong on were as minor as possible (I had those 5 all losing in the next round anyway). Michigan State however, hurts. I had them facing Kentucky in the quarterfinals.

for anyone who cares, teams i incorrectly picked:

Michigan State
Providence
Princeton
Arizona
Lousiville
Dayton

My bracket is officially FUBAR. Now it's time to cheer for as many upsets as possible and KU to win it all (not that I wasn't going to do that anyways).

Yep, my bracket is toast. Knew being the leader after round 1 was bad mojo. Time to just enjoy the tournament for what it is rather than hoping to make any $$$ of it.

I'm already down
2 Sweet 16's (Gonzaga, Texas Tech)
1 Elite 8 (Florida)
1 Final Four (Stanford)

Had Xavier, so at least I'm good there.

Meanwhile, Georgia Tech appears determined to repeat their performance from Friday, i.e. Start Fast and then vanish.

I would say the Zags got the short end of the stick from the officiating side, which isn't common for a much higher seed.

They may not have gotten the calls but they were still beat by a lot. The game wasn't on here so I dont know, but do you think fairer officiating would have closed the defecit for Gonzaga?

Are you getting the Okie State or seen any of it? Today, everything they do is called "hustle" and all those lovely announcer synonyms. Yesterday, everytime Gonzaga tried to do something like that, it was a foul so they could never try to aggressively go after it on defense.

Refs have so much of an influence that people just don't want to acknowledge. You call a game tight, it favors one team, you call a game loose, it's going to favor another. And when you take a team out of their game, that's when teams can never come back.

I'm not saying Blake Stepp being colder than Vladivostok in January wasn't a big factor, but it wouldn't have been nearly that big of a deal and they wouldn't have had to keep feeding him if Turiaf had more than 10 minutes in the game. He got called for ticky tack fouls, had to sit out most of the game and still got double digits in points because nothing Nevada could do could stop him. Yet, because he wasn't in there, Gonzaga had to completely change their game.

Woohoo! Goodbye shredded brackets! If Illinois can beat Duke and Vandy beats UConn, we can officially enter bracket hell where people who had something like an Oklahoma St-Texas matchup win it all.

I was curious, so I checked ... and sure enough, the "scenario generator" can be run on anyone's picks, not just on your own picks.

And from what I could figure out, if all of your other still-possible predictions held true, there's still one way you could win the FOFC group ... if UAB wins the national championship.

I'm even more screwed (with both Kentucky & Stanford gone) ... the only scenario I could find that gives me a group win is for
a) Alabama or Vandy to reach the Final Four
AND
b) Georgia Tech to win the championship
